First off id like to say i live in arkansas so no legality issues here. I'm wanting to know how to go about engine mounts? Does anyone have any sort of blueprint i could go off of to build my mounts? I can weld and stuff but on mounts i want a proven idea...no use in reinventing what's already here you know?

Hey all, Just wondered if anyone knew the spindle angle differences between ke20/ ke30 and ke70 struts? For example, Ke20 struts in ke10 add positive camber due to the spindle being different angle to ke10.. Is anyone able to measure the backing plate mounting surface with the strut perfectly upright on a ke3x or ke7x strut or have any images of comparison? Thanks

Hi guys, I've got a problem with the heater in my AE71 where the heaters blower doesn't work. With the heater on any setting i only get a click from around the passenger kick panel and thats about it. No heat, no air being blown, nothing but a click when i switch between the heat settings. I havent yet been able to remove the kick panel to pinpoint where the click comes from but is this where the heaters relay is located? Ive checked all fuses under the steering wheel and in the engine bay and they all seem to be intact. Is there a specific relay or fuse i should be checking? How can i test the blower motor?

G'day all, I have a 2 door ke30 and I have wanted to fit a tachometer to it just to get an idea on revs I'm doing at certain speeds, I also purchased an oil pressure guage and a water temperature guage to fit as well, now is there any way to use the original oil pressure light sender or the water temp sender, as I quickly just fiddled with the water temp guage under the bonnet the guage quickly went over 100 degrees assuming that you cannot match the original sender with aftermarket guages. Can variable resistors be fitted as a solution or have to fit my aftermarket senders and ditch the originals?

Gday, I have a 1975 2 door ke30, it has a 3k-h and had a k40 which I only just swapped over for a k50, now this gearbox has made my speedo out. Any suggestions on the best way to solve this problem as its turning over quicker and will be racking up more k's then what I am really doing. Any help is appreciated cheers.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted here before and am finally about to join the rollaclub! I am planing on buying a 1981 KE55 this week, its in pretty good shape for the price but I am planning to do a lot to it. Anyway, what would a good diff be for a 4AGE motor conversion as this is what I'm planing on changing to in the future. I'm asking this early because my parents are freaking out about safety and having some disk brakes would ease there minds a little bit, the current motor is still the stock 4k. I would also want to put a LSD in. thanks heaps, Kyle

So trying to just confirm the deck height of the 3k at 185.5 and the 4k at 196.0? Deck height being from crank centreline to top of block. Doesn't seem to add up with stroke and piston height measurements as follows.... So 3k deck height would be 66/2 stroke + 113 rod + 35.5 piston height = 181.5mm And 4k deck height would be 73/2 stroke + 120 rod + 35.5 piston height = 192mm What is missing here?

So I'm thinking of swapping my te27 cluster into my ke25. Parrot sent me a diagram of the pin plug into the back of the cluster. According to it I just have to rotate the plug and plug it in and run a black wire from the negative side of the coil to pin 7 of the plug I have read alot of different things and people say u need to swap wires etc. I had a look at a few looms I have at home. One loom I have even has pin 7 (black wire) in it amd near where it hooks to the coil it has a black wire red trace taped away with a round terminal head. I suspect this is a te27 wiring loom I have. I have another loom with totally different color wires in the pin plug compared to tha…

I was going to add this to the wiki but ERMA-GERD I got a head ache trying to get it down so maybe another L3370 8URR170 could get it down there. I've been misled for some time due to lack info in regards to coils so would like to pass some information on. The majority of stock 3k/4k units are either Bosch or Nippon-Denso oil filled coils designed for use with a ballast resistor. The ballast resistor is in place to limit the ignition voltage flowing through the coil prolonging the life of the breaker points and leads for that standard and original application, effectively culling 12 volts down to 9 volts. Without going into great detail this is how a replaceme…

I recently bought my first corolla a ke 30, I put in a 18rgu I had lying around in it, its just a paddock bomb but my friends and I take it pretty seriously. I have never worked with these corollas and I was hoping for some cheap ideas to upgrade the front suspension as the 18rgu is a lot heavier. Can I just fit some later model struts if so what fits easily Also some ideas on how to get some camber As I said it is only a paddock bomb so I want to spend as little money as possible

I have noticed a lot of people that build their coilovers incorectly. One of the main thing I see that bugs me is the springs ability to remain captive. If the spring is too short can this be fixed by getting a taller spring with the same rate? I normally mention the SW20 MR2 struts for the shorter stroke, but sometimes it isnt enough.

Hi everyone, just after some help. I've cooked my 3K and most likely cracked the head. I have a spare 4K sitting around and the bottom end of the 3k was recently rebuilt so i don't want to get rid of that. My plan was to get the 4K head ported/ polished and decked and just bang it on once its ready. Seems like the only drawback ill have is a slight drop in compression? will there be any fitment issues? thanks in advance. ( Can't find any threads on this, only 3K on 4k blocks )

Hey guys, Just wanting to get some advice regarding using velocity stacks on a 4age, whether or not this is legal/engineerable? (just running the stacks, not inside plenum) on an 4age 20v blacktop going in a ke55. (located vic) Just trying to do all my research before buying parts and before talking to an engineer. i know you have to keep all emissions gear with the engine conversion and i know i read somewhere you can have pod filter or cai but not both. Just trying to figure out what area velocity stacks fall into? Cheers

I'm currently trying to source a T series diff to through in to the AE. I have found a whole bunch of information on the Series 2 T18 diffs which to my knowledge are a straight bolt in swap. However I have come across a series 1 T18 diff that I can buy but being series 1 doesn't have the sway bar mounts on the diff etc. I was looking to grab more information on what is required to fit the Series 1 Diff complete with swaybar and just to confirm that the series 2 will be a bolt in swap. Thanks.

Hi! I have D shaped pistons and head with lugs under 1 & 4 cylinders. I'm doing solid 3F lifter conversion and need pushrod lenght and original parts number for that pushrod. Heard that it was same as 4K-u? We don't have 4K-u's here in Finland so that is why I need parts number to order from Toyota. Will 3K or 4K rockers work? Thank you already! -Jansku99

Hi All Ive got a ke30 with a sr20 in it. Initially with my S15 engine i had a rx7 master cylinder. When that engine let go and i replaced it with a S13 engine and now rhe rx7 master is hitting the intake. I can easily replace the master and ive noticed in photos that the ta22 master looks smaller. But if some could confirm the length of the master from mounting face to the end of the cylinder that would be mucb appreciated. Thanks in advance

Morning All Ive just come across this web site and hoping you guys can help me out........ I have a Birkin Clubman which runs a Borg Warner M68 diff. It currently runs a 3.9 diff ratio which is way too high for my car. Talking to a few people there are other diff ratios available with this diff a 4.11 and a 4.3.............whilst Ive heard of the 4.11 being available, I'm really looking for the 4.3 which would suit my car perfectly. Is there such a ratio available and if so, can anyone point me the right direction to where I could find one?? Appreciate any help you can provide.............. Thanks Eldo

My 16 step guide in how to Turbo a K series motor! (Major steps only) 1- Relocate the Battery to the boot 2. Strip old manifold/carb/headers off 3. Make a turbo manifold 4. Using a metal exhaust gasket mount up that bad boy! 5. Find a suitable turbo for the engine. I used a custom front and rear housing carbon sealed setup i found of a dude in Melbourne 6. Mount up the turbo and start to get Excited!! 7. Attach all the lines and chosen Carby, as well as whatever crazy setup you fabb'd up to make a filter fit.. Remember to ensure your Turbo oil return line is in a horizontal fitting into the sump as high up on the sump as you can get…

Right so this isnt a corolla carb, its actually a Suzuki Sierra carby...but hey a carby is a carby. I'm half way through putting a carby kit through it, and i have a question about setting the float level. I think the needle valve is actually a tad longer than one I pulled out, due to the fact that the adjustment is miles out. The manual gives me photo of the float with a measurement of 7mm from the bottom of the float to the gasket case of the casting (with the float/top of carby upside down and the weight of the float on the needle valve). And the float is parallel to the gasket face. In order to get this distance of 7mm I have to bend the bit of metal t…

So, taking the ke20 in a couple of sprints, need traction badly. All I want to know is, can I weld the diff centre with it still in the car. Mate says it can be done.. I'm dubious. Can I remove the rear plate on the borgy and weld it up?? Please no for and against welded diff arguments. Just a little tech support :)
