My vintage x-code 5.6" TRD LSD is beginning to show signs of wear. I've located the correct TRD part number for a rebuild kit--40107-KP611. However, it's listed as discontinued. However again, just because a part isn't being made doesn't mean that part can't be found on a shelf somewhere. I know someone is going to suggest swapping in a AE86 rear and it might come to that...but buying a complete are axle assembly and adding or rebuilding a LSD for it, is going to be big bucks. The 40107-KP611 rebuild kit is listed as being about $150 US. Can anyone lend some advice on how to communicate withTRD Japan or point me to a third party that is good at hunting parts…

Hey guys, I need some advice on things that might cause the engine to stall when applying throttle or choke. Context: had year old fuel in the car from about a year of sitting around while body work and paint was being done. Car wouldn't run without stalling after about 12months, so we drained fuel tanks and refurbished carby. Now the thing starts and idles beautifully but any choke or throttle causes it to stall. The fuel pump seems to definitely be working because I disconnected inlet into the carburetor while the engine was running and it was flowing a tonne of fuel. The engine sounds like it might be misfiring a bit, but I don't know how to diagnose that. The vacuum …

Hey guys hopefully there is a simple fix to this dilemma that has just been noticed. I finally got my daughters KE55 coupe on the road but realised that the speedo is stuck at 35 km/h when driving it operates normally above point where it sticks. The accuracy is yet to be confirmed. I have pulled the cable out from the back of the speedo in the hope that it would fall back to zero but no luck. Any ideas on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I need your expertise! The KE20 is at the mechanic's getting roadworthy (or trying too) and it's not passing because of a front brake issue. The previous owner did a KE30 brake upgrade to the front, to change the stud pattern I guess. Also had adjustable coils put into the front. Issue now is that the steering arm is pressing up against the back for the disc brakes, not allowing enough movement in the brakes to get them to compress firmly - I.E. BRAKES ARE SHIT, and always was a concern for me since buying and getting ready for roadworthy. Mechanics suggested solution is to replace the complete strut back to original KE20 OR find smaller brakes. I don't …

Hey Guys getting to the I'm running out of time period of a build coz my daughter is close to getting her licence. I am struggling with organising lowering springs for the front and was wondering has anyone used the Kings KFFL-15sl they are supposed to be a 50 mm drop which is what the boss wants the car to sit at. My dilemma is that the local auto shop guys say yep that is the part required but King Springs say that they don't make them any more. Looking on Ebay they are all over the place for sale however when you put the KE55 details into their fitment search the result is that they don't fit the car.The KFFL-15 are a match but the drop isn't enough only 30 mm and acco…

ok I apologize if kick down is the wrong name for it but basically I have a ke10 with 4k and 2 speed toyoglide. problem is the way it's been set up it's still running an early carby so has a different linkage I'm suspecting a ke20? problem is I now have a 4k carby and adapting the kick down cable from the auto trans is becoming a massive hassle. now I wanna know is there a way to avoid using the cable? what exactly does it do? and say you were to put an aftermarket carb whether it be down draught or side draught how would you get the kick down to work? it's becoming such a pain in the ass I may just use it as an excuse to go manual but I kinda need to get it moving by nex…

I would like to find some plug wires with a 90 degree plug to the distributor side. The engine is a blue top with factory cover, between cam covers. Would there be any compatible leads out there. The only ones i can find all have straight ends. The cheap ebay ones any good or rubbish? http://www.ebay.com....l8AAOSwvg9XYg-i The reason for this is with scorcher distributor the straight ends are streched to fit the distributor, the 90 degree ends would fix this problem and look better. rob

Gday rollaclub crew I'm new to corollas and rollaclub but doing a 4age ke10 conversion and have two different t50 gearboxes and wandering what the numbers stamped on them mean. they have factory stamps in the cast but also have numbers which look like they have been hand stamped. the first one has 3-2 on b/housing and ex/housing it also has hand stamped numbers on the under side 21 spline input and 20 spline output. the other has 2-2 on b/housing and ex/housing 7-1 in the centre section on drivers side and 11-1 in centre section on passengers side it also has hand stamped numbers on several places top and bottom of gearbox and 21 spline input and 21 spline output…

Hey guys. Yesterday I bought my first car, a 1976 ke 30 sedan 5 speed. I'm 15 and 3 months so I can't yet drive on the road, so I have time to save money from my job. I was driving my ke30 around in a paddock earlier and, well, I have already decided I want more power. I know the 4age is the most popular swap for a ke70, but I don't know about the ke30. Can you guys give me some ideas and the pros and cons of some engines? Thanks

Hello to all, I am a new first time corolla owner and have a question about it. It's a 99 with the 1.8 1zz engine....It has a misfire that happens at all times,I've checked spark and all 4 wires are getting spark.checked the fuel injectors and number 4 injector does not have a signal so it's not injecting fuel.I checked voltage and I get 12volts to the b/w wire and I also have continuity in the black wire from the injector harness all the way back to the ecu.I went as far as to bypass the harness and run a separate wire from the ecu to the injector and still nothing.it seemed to me I had a bad ecu so I got ahold of another one same numbering and all but still nothing.I'm…

Hi! For 2 years ago I installed a ta62 brake booster and master cylinder into my ke35. Huge difference! Now I have also installed front calipers from the same ta62 into my ke35. Tried bleeding it about ten times but everytime I started the engine the pedal sank to the floor. I tried yesterday reinstall the old ke35 stock calipers and that made it a alot better! So what's wrong? Are the ta62's calipers harder to evacuate the air from or do they fail remaining pressure somehow?at least I can't see any leaks from them...

Anyways I was wondering if anyone had a Workshop manual for a small port 4age, I've found one for a older big port 4age but would prefer to get one for my motor. Thanks

So I managed to overheat my mini compressor recently with the result that I now have no compression! On strip down, it appears I have glazed the bore and worn the ring. I was thinking I could hone it with my hydraulic cylinder hone, but not to sure how to sort the carbon ring. Any ideas?

Hi peoples, I found myself fitting a complete KE35 diff to my KE55 on Friday & of course the sway bar brackets were missing. Being in a hurry, I had no time to slice off & weld to the new housing, thinking "that can be done later". However, there seems to be some conjecture as to whether this car either benefits from or is otherwise hampered by a rear bar. If anyone has tried both with & without, I'd love to hear your opinions! :)

I am doing the clutch on my 81 sr5 and I need to know the torque specs for the drive shaft to the differential, the drive shaft to each other, the transmission mount bracket bolts, the bell housing bolts to the block, the clutch cover bolts, the flywheel bolts, the main seal shield/transmission gasket bolts, the shift lever bolts, along with anything else I may be missing in my lenghthy run-along sentence. My manual is simply a general manual for corollas from 2tc all the way to 4age and has none of this specific info except flywheel torque. And all I have found online is more flywheel torque specs. Any help is appreciated, help me get my baby out of the garage and back o…

Hi guys. I bought a R31 diff to put into my KE and have got it cut down re-splined etc. I have gone to put it back in today but the u-bolts now wont fit over the diff. Does anyone know what ones I need? I was just going to buy larger ones and redrill the holes on the bottom plate but I didn't know if this was the proper way and wanted to see if anyone has done it before. Thanks, Kyle

Hi all! I'm sure I was on here the other night reading a build thread where someone made mention of a K50 to T50 clutch cable conversion kit a member had put together and was able to be purchased from? Can anyone help out with a contact user name or number please? Or am I tripping? I've been on here and google search for the last hour and more, I can't find the thread. Please don't answer with "hydro conversion set up" responses. Thanks, Ali

after purchacing a KE30 recently matching number vehicle. needs a little tlc but is rust free and original which has pointed me in the direction of rebuilding the 3k motor i like the idea of injection so the question is does the 7k injection manifold set up fit a 3k motor or am i better off sourcing a 5k motor and going down that avenue. i want to keep it looking as original as possible

Hey rolla clan. So decided to finally put a 5speed in my ke11. I was sold it being told it was out of a 30 no tunnel mod needed. It's clear not. But the problem seem to be different size spline. Did some reading there's a 19 and 21 and bingo here's my dilemma. Can the shaft be swapped between boxes or is it a matter of changing the clutches over ?? Your most excellent know is well appreciated guys 🙏🏻cheers grant

Hey I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. I need to install an aftermarket tacho into my 5 speed ke70. I have no idea where to wire it into. I was under the impression that it would be into the wires behind the clock in the dash. I did a search earlier but nothing helped. console wires: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=466031 tacho wires: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=466032 If anyone could tell me which wires connect to what it would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a strange noise coming from the carby whenever I accelerate. Sounds like a ticking/rumble noise. When I turn off the motor, makes a gargling noise. How much would you guys think ball park wise it would cost to fix something like this? I'm not sure if its much help but I took some video footage. Any help would be appreciated.
