Hi guys, Been a member for a while and have finally purchased a 1971 ke11 corolla. At the moment its original and was sitting around in a shed for about 5years. I'm planning a 7k conversion and wanted to upgrade the front brakes from drums to discs. Ive read that the simplist will be a ke20 front brake setup. I believe they also have the same stud pattern which will enable me to keep the 12inch wheels and chrome dress rims. Can anyone help as to what I will need exactly? and if someone has bits and pieces for sale. Would like to eventually lower the front and rear. Cheers

I have often thought about having a completely separate exhaust pipe for each cylinder. Has any one done this? A quick google search returned nothing. Any comments, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Would it be legal to have them exit to the sides in front of the rear wheels? PS, I'm thinking of doing this on my tow car (202 Kingswood ute) not the rolla. PSS, I'm not looking for any performance gain

Hey guys i just changed my clutch in my ke70 and now the thing wont start, it cranks and keeps cranking but nothing at all, its getting fuel to the carby i can see that, there is oil in the spark plug well number 3 but i took the first spark plug out and tried to see if it was sparking but didnt seam to be, any ideas what this could be, and why is there oil in the spark plug wells

Hey dudes. I recently installed a T3 short shifter in to the Rolla for mad shiftz. Although, I completely blanked that there was going to be a difference between a LHD and RHD shifter, so my shifter is ever so slightly angled to the left. It's definitely usable and unless I find something incredible, it will stay. I've read that there is three popular options for short shifters in this application - TRD, cheap eBay crap and T3. All having different pros and cons. Just looking to see what you guys run and what you do and don't like about them. :y:

Hi guys, I've had my project on another forums for sometime but I need some more indepth help. I purchased a 4AGE for my KE70 today and have so far worked out that I have a bigport head on a 7 rib block. All I am wondering is there anyway to tell externally if its a 2nd gen or a 3rd gen? I'm pretty sure both 2nd and 3rd are 7 rib blocks? Also pretty sure that 3rd gen came with oil squirters? Many thanks in advance, I'll leave some photos.

unsure if this goes in general mechanical. but anyway.. I'm just wondering what wheels fit on stock front guards ? I'm looking at getting 15x8 0 offset ... just wondering if they will fit fine and clear calipers etc... I'm getting 15x9 -10 on the rear but gna flare/get bolt on flares for the rear ... thanks :)

I have camtech 272 8.6mm cams coming, as well as performance springs. I already have adjustable cam sprockets and silvertop itb. going to be sending a spare head off for a quick port and polish and will have them assemble the head with the cams and springs.. I am trying to keep costs down and wondering if i can get away without shim under bucket mod, or if its just not worth the risk. anyone run 8.6mm or more here on standard shims?

The saas ke30-ke70 boss kits don't seem to fit, the taper is too tight on the oem shaft. Its a pity as they are the better boss kit out there with 2 patterns and solid design, but yeah the nut doesnt even go halfway on when done up tight. I have bought a few over the last year hoping they would have fixed the issue but its the same problem. Tested ascross multiple listed vehicles for the boss kit. It is possible to machine the taper out but tricky and expensive if you can find someone capable of doing it. Anyone had similar issues?

I jacked my ke55 up today,using the pinch welds to jack up the front, but to me it seems liker quite a weak point. Just wondering if there is a better way? and for the back also? Where do you guys like to place your jack stands when putting the car up on 4 stands? Thanks

Not strictly Toyota but looking for some advice. My girlfriend has a Mazda 121 bubble 1.3l that is having some trouble. It started out stuttering and not idling correctly and got worse until it would drop out unless accelerating. We pulled a code for an air flow sensor which we replaced and the code went away but the problem persisted and continued getting worse until now the car won't start. Speaking to an auto electrician he thinks it is likely the ecu but he was pretty vague. I noticed that there is only a few ohms resistance between the + and - leads with the battery disconnected and keys out and the battery is now dead also. Any one have any suggestions?

Hey guys, does anyone on here run an EMS stinger with a 4agte or even a 4age? I brought a ke70 in pieces with a 4agte, its all built and loomed to the diagram but no spark? Running a CAS and coilpacks, and the EMS has no paramiters and I don't know what to set them too, any help would be much appreciated

Hey, I know it's not a corolla, but I didnt know where else to ask. I just bought a km20 liteace commercial van (4k motor) and it's geared mega low for moving heavy stuff at town speeds. I believe the 5 and 7 seater versions were geared higher to drive more like a normal car. I figure the diff is what I need, but to correct the speedo, is the speedo drive at the gearbox different? Or is the calibration of the speedo itself different? Also, where can I find information on the gearbox and diff? I'd like to find out what options there were for gear ratios and what vehicle each ratio was in. I think the diff is the same as some other cars? Is there such thing as…

hey everybody i have ae102 with a 4age 20v silvertop and the clutch has let go. it has a standard 7afe gearbox in it and I'm unsure if the normal 7afe clutch will fit or try and find out what the part number is for the extreme performance clutch. it is currently sitting in a shed waiting to be fixed. any help will be great guy cheers

Hey all, I've recently rebuilt and installed an sr20det red top into a ke70.. It has disco potato turbo, 875cc injectors Bosch 044 fuel pump 3" cooler piping Haltech sprint 500 ecu Went to take it for a drive the other day, it started, ran & idled fine.. Would rev to 3G fine.. But as soon as you would hit or go over 3, it just shuts down! It feels as if it has no spark, but still pumping fuel.. If I keep my foot on the throttle, then take it off before it completely stalls.. It will back fire, cough & splutter then return to idle.. And if I just take my foot straight off, it returns to idle as if there were no problem? I've replaced rubber fuel ho…

So I had this weird knocking coming from my engine, I thought it was the SC12 but I just replaced it and the noise is still there. I'm 99% sure its coming from under the cam covers. All the timing marks line up and all the clearances seem fine. It is fine until the engine warms up, only happens at idle. The car seems to drive fine, pulls hard. Has 264/8.1 HKS cams (not installed by me). hey peepz, iv got a haltech e11v2 wired up to my 20V ke. haltech provided me with a 16v base map and said it would get the car running however my tuner said it doesnt work and he would have to custom make the map. does anyone have a haltech e11v2 20valve map ? if so please email it to [email protected] any help would be good thanks guys

was reading on here, a guy got all the parts from ke55 to do a manual conversion to his ke55 auto. and the shifter didnt line up? he tried with the ke70 box and it lined up nicely? is this correct? need a ke70 box to do a manual conversion to my ke55? advice and info pleaseeee thanks evan

Hi, Need some mind power by some gurus on here to help me with my idle issue... The other day was driving my KE11 and when crusing down a road at any speed if I jumped off the noise pedal car would pop a bit (so lean out pops ok all cool). Pops started to get more frequent when off the throttel so I figured car running a tad lean. Then BOOM car stopped ideling. But when driving with throttel open 100% fine. So I did the whole undo idel screw blow some compressed air in to clear idle jets spray in some carby cleaner put screw back in. Toyota specs say start at 3 turns off shut. Due to a semi mild cam (kicks in around 3500RPM) my idel screw is 3 and 3/4 off seat…

Hi I have been looking into convering my 1978 ke30 from 4 stud to a ford 5 stud for the plain reason I want to fit a set of 5 spoke 5 stud 17" show wheels and also want some 300mm front disc brakes too what is the best and easiest way to convert it to 5 stud hubs front only without fabrication work Or does any1 no of good japanese coilovers with 5 stud hubs and 300mm disc brake set up with 4 piston callipers I'm after a direct bolt in sort of thing don't want to have to fab anything Planing on putting 4g63 in it but want to have suspension, brakes and drive line sorted so its ready for the power that will be thrown at it

I was replacing bushes and springs today in my ke70 and when i went to put the panhard back on it wouldn't go so I tpulled it out and noticed it was bent. Should I be concerned? Its not bad, with help I got it back on the car and the old rubber bushings didn't look deformed of anything
