Accelerator pump jets dripping during closed throttle/ idle. Whats the most likely cause? The check balls in the circuit look ok. Could it be the accelerator pump intake/discharge valve? Though they seem to be ok (can only blow through one way). Just wanted to check before I order new ones. Any help appreciated.

i've managed to get myself a 5 speed from the wreckers to put in. at the wreckers i took the side plate off and dumped all the oil and checked all the gearsets for visible damage. all good. so the question now is how much oil do i put back in? and also is there a preference on viscosity and breed of oil? do i fill it through the side plate? it's a k50 box, thanks for your input

Hi all, Been told you need an engineering certificate if putting in a 5k and 5speed into a ke17 sprinter? Just wondering how would i avoid this and if it really is necessary? Its a bigger motor but i didn't think that the 1.5 would make a difference. Thanks

Hey guys. I'm having a real nightmare atm with my e12 corolla. Basically I've been told my backbox is on its way out so I went down the scrappies and pulled a universal fit one off a Corsa for £25. :) :) :D However, I've been trying to get a garage to fit it for me and I'm not having very much luck at all. :( I've been told by a very friendly mechanic that the "mounts" are different and they need modifying. My question to you guys is can this be achieved easily? like is there some sort of adapter I can buy or something like that? I'm not a very technical person but have plenty of friends who would happily help me should any technical skill be required. …

Hey Guys, Got a little question regarding the plugs on a 4A wiring loom. Basically I know that there are the 'square' and 'round' types, but I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction regarding how/where I would go about buying some replacement plugs. :blinks: Have mainly 'round' sensors on my new engine, including the injectors, so wanted to track down some new plugs to swap from the 'square' type to 'round' on the wiring loom. Or, Would I just be better off selling the loom I have, and just trying (again) to find a complete Smallport loom with the 'round' plugs? Have tried searching, but as soon as 4AGE and Plug are searched toget…

Howdy guys, just wondering how to diagnose an exaust manifold air leak. I now own a mkII supra with a 5m. While driving along and putting the car under load at low rpm; say sitting at 1700 in 4th and putting the throttle flat or when the car just turns on. I can hear a prominent almost popping noise, seeming to come from the side of the engine which has the extractors (4-1). Is this a noise which i shouldnt worry about? Would i be able to get soapy water and lather up the extractors with it and figure it out? Thanks for any help ^_^

I can't get the wheel off my girlfriends daewoo cielo and before you say it, i know its a heap of shit but it starts everyday. But anyway its the RHF wheel and ive tried a dead blow hammer, normal rubber mallet, steel hammer and drift, pry bars, pinch bars, driving around the yard with the wheel nuts loose, running into the gutter with the nuts loose, RACQ can't get it off. I'm trying an oxy tomorrow but other than that i think the grinder may need to come out. Any more suggestions ?

Hello ladies and gents i'm helping undertaker get his new ta22 to run and stay running, :D but were having a drama with the engine, it has a webber on it and once you get it running you can't accelerate at all it just dies like a huge flat spot, i have another webber at home, we changed the carbies around (mine is jetted for a t04 on the side of a t series engine :) ), but it still does it it idle's perfectly untill you feed it some go go juice, it's like the motor wont accept more air and fuel, i'm wondering does it have anything to do with the timing being out a tooth or so, or something in the mani stopping it from going. Any help would be great cheers Justin

OK, I'm looking at making an incar mixture guage for tuning with the twin SUs- I want to be able to optimise the needle shape without spending a fortune at the local dyno shop having him read the mixtures for me every time. So I assume I can build a Jaycar LED display for $20, which hooks up to an oxygen sensor and flashes different coloured LEDs depending on the A/F ratio. Now, can I hit the wreckers and buy a pair of oxygen sensors from two cars down there?? ..and will narrow-band do it or do I need to go to wideband? It will be the sort of thing that gets used for a month until I'm happy with the carbs and then thrown under the stairs, so if anyone want…

hey, would anyone know why my auto choke would be making the car rev right up(like 5k+ revs) when its cold. If i hold the little arms/leaver(circle in picture) down to keep the butterfly open it seems to rev alright..... if i don't hold the leaver down the butterfly closes and the car wants to rev out till its warm. i had the carby off the car a while ago while i was doing some work to the motor. not sure if all the hoses are in the correct spots. Cheers Zac

I've done a search, but I can't find an answer for why. FAQ says they're not actually that good, but why do people do it then? Is there power gain? Surely a 3k head wouldn't be stronger? Any info or links much appreciated! cheers, toby

Hey guys, I know this has been asked and answered before, buy I can't find it in search. anyways, makes KE70, with a 4k. Has a carby similar to a older 4k (less emissions or something the last owner told us) however when stopping sometimes, (randomly) it will stall at the lights, however performs good once you are driving around. a quick tap the accelerator keeps her going. what are the main reasons and whys to fix this? cheers

Ok as the title says I have a 5k newly recon motor in the KE70. Current mods: extractors, 36/32 carbie, 5 speed box and exhaust system I'm hoping the get more power out of my car but to also learn more about my car and cars in general. I've read the how to build a tuff k motor and it goes in to great detail of the amounts of possibilities I have to which I can do. I was hoping some1 could tell me that something a novice could do to my internals to gain that bit more out of my motor? Sorry about the layout of the post Engrish aint my strength thanks Scott

Hi, I have looked around the web & checked your site. I am looking for Adjustable Air shocks (rear) for a Corona 1985 CS st141 Wagon, I want to be able to go places most 2 wheel drivers wouldn't go. The car has a set on it already ( 20 years old, fronts were too, new hydrolic now ) These are Armstrong Air Jackers, they are a small diametre air shock that was seemingly stopped being manufactured about 5 years ago... :bash: Anyone got any idea's, if it wasn't for the narrow 'tunnel' (if that's the correct term.) at the top, I wouldn't have the problem... These need to be replaced, the body roll with one leaky shock is terrible. :P Dancing you don't want to be, …
