Hi Everyone, Well I've been trying to get this car up to scratch for a roadworthy and needed to change the gearbox in it because it simply needed changing. What my problem is now is the clutch doesn't seem to be fully disengaging when the clutch pedal is all the way down. When I try to put it into gear it is always hard to do so and reverse grinds horribly until it's "in" gear.. The strange thing is, when I let go of the pedal the friction point is around half-way through pedal movement rather than right at the floor. ALL of the gears are hard to push into gear. We've tried adjusting the clutch cable to give us maximum clutch disengagement but doesn't seem…

okay, So i have a 4k out of ke70 down the back that i was thinking of rebuilding for just a reliable daily motor that can reach the speed limit in under 20 minutes :P :D but when i pulled it apart it was erhhh ahh knackered. :( So i've been all the threads about 'K' motors on here about turbo this supercharged that but i couldnt find what i was after. What I'm asking is which of the 'K' motors would be bet suited for a daily? I.e fuel consumption, parts, reliabilty and with a bit of power when needed.. :( I have the ability to get either of the motors but I'm unsure.. :hmm: btw: mods would just be 5 speed box, extractors, lightened fly…

hey guys, I'm getting further into a 4agze convention for my little 4wd wagon, and i really need some suspension advice. so getting down to it back when i put the thing back on the road i replaced most of the bushes and the rear shockers, i put kyb gas shocks in the back but i never touched the front end. as far as i can tell it has the original struts which would be close to 22 years old now. i want to replace the front struts as they are well ant truly dead, would new standard struts work well? or should i be looking into harder springs to stiffen the front end as it bottoms out alot. I'm not sure if standard ae series struts will work as of the extra added…

So every week i come on the forums and see a differant "how do i turbo my k motor?" and the reply always seems to be "use the search function" however there really are no walkthroughs (bar one, but it isnt very good, and is very negative towards the idea of a turbo K motor. So, here are some quick walkthroughs on turbo setups for K series motors. *All of the following ideas will be costly, and wont result in huge power figures* *The first thing to keep in mind about a turbo is that your K series motor (if stock) will probably not handle any amount of boost you throw at it. your head gasket will be the first to go, to overcome this you can either run 2 copp…

hey there guys this might sound stupid but i have a ke70 panno that has a 4K with a cam, shaved head, twin solex's, and extractors. the problem is i keep killing standard fuel pumps. i am now thinking that standard pumps might not be good enough to do the job(or they could just be crap pumps). would anyone know if A. they are to small? B. what would be a good and fairly cheap setup i could use to get the job done if i need to go bigger. cheers sam

ok so even with the cables wound right up, the handbrake doesnt really work at all and the levers come out way to far on the calipers, (they are not drum and shoe handbrake), just wondering if anyone knows how these are adjusted at the caliper, had a look and there is no plug like normal caliper handbrakes that you remove and adjust a bolt inside.

so after buying my ke30 from andy h, a few weeks later my head started to leak water into my pots. after inspection i found a brand new head gasket and a minor surface crack in my head, but the crack had the appearance of one that had been there for years. the mechanic at API engines lonsdale agreed. it looks like the previous owner has obviously had troubles with the crack before then just put on a brand new head gasket to buy him 3 months or so and sold it to me under the impression the car was gold. The head has been welded and shaved by API engines, ive bought a new water pump (because the old one was going to give out soon), and new gaskets for everything…

Hey guys, Was hoping you could help me out with tyre choice. I am still a little unsure what I should be getting as I haven't had much experince, if any, with 13" tyres. Rim for tyres is a 13" x 6.5", and the vechile looks to be a Daihatsu Mira. Options: 1) Khumo 155/65 at $100 2) Hanhook 155/65 at $130 2) Yokohama from England (road grip kind of tyre) 175/50 at $150ish 3) Yokohama A008 semi slicks at just a little over $200 in 175/50 I have looked into 155/60 from Japan and it is just going to be a very expensive excersise from what I have been told. I have the ability to but a 7ke long motor (which i believe you can use the 4k bolt on gear?) would this be a good idea? i can also source a sc12 to add a bit more power. Evening guys. I have just stuck a 3K-C into a KE70; for about a day she went just fine, a good 3 hours total. Prior to insertion, the engine had been out of action for at least a year, but fired up strong and clean; it had been rebuilt prior to being laid up. Fired first go, didn't blow smoke, pulled well up until ~5000rpm, after which it would still rev, but not make power. And now drama has struck. It seems like it keeps running out of fuel; It will start, run for a few seconds, and then die. If you touch the accelerator, it dies. After a few seconds of cranking, it will do this over and over. If I leave it say, half and hour, it might run for 30 seconds? …
