Is there some kind of generic guide on the web to removing a strut and replacing it with another one? Asking purely so i don't frig anything up, as i NEED to get them done quickly and properly :) It's not for a Corolla. Nor do i have the time or money to get a car manual, and the local libraries ones have all 'gone missing'.. ANY help would be appreciated girls and boys :fuzz:

hey guys probably a bit of a stupid question but does a t18 diff assembly bolt straight in to a ke70 or do i need the t18 tail shaft as well or do i have to customize stuff???? any help would be appreciated cheers :) Regards Mike

hey all was wondering if the chrome bumpers fit slanty fronts? because i have only seen them on flat fronts. also does a ae86 front bar fit a slanty front? anyone with pics would be a great help want to get a rough idea on how they look :wink:

Just had a crazy idea of fitting a quad carburetor setup from a road bike onto a 4k, something like the ones the honda 750's used. So basically an individual small capacity carby for each cylinder. Yes some custom fabrication will be required to fit them (I can do this at work :) ) and a new intake manifold. Probably also an electronic fuel pump for increased flow. But maybe not. but maybe. By looking at the intake on the original carby it looks too small to supply the engine with enough air to breathe, thus my inseration to modify. On the exhaust side of things what is the most beneficial system to use? My current setup is a 4-2-1 system but only like a 1.5" system. …

hey all a mate of mine is selling this weber that came off of a ford 250 crossflow and i am wondering what size ect. it is (32/36 36/36) and is it possible to put onto a k motor without to much effort ?? i thought it would need rejetting as its for a 4ltr and i want it on a 1.3 :) help much appreciated cheers scott.

hey guys, i know absoulty nothing about carbie motors and i just bout a corolla with a 3k auto engine. the car will start fine and will start on as long as my foot is on the accelator, as soon as i let it off the car wont hold idle at all after a few seconds and will just die on me. I'm wondering what can i do to fix this? thanks a heap any advice is highly appreticated.

Hey all I'm new here and was just some more info. Did the AE92/AE93 sedans ever come out with the 4age motor? And if any one has a mid 80's corona what sort of fuel economy are you getting? The reason for there questions is that I'm looking a getting 1 of these and I have had a corona before but I was only getting 400kms out of the 61L tank ( It was worse then my 351 falcon). HI all, As the title says, I have a 4agze, Its in a Ke55, I'm running a FMIC, Microtech ECU, and the Pulley is hooked up to a switch, via a relay and I have completed the ABV Mod. When the motor was out of the car, I played with the SC and it sucked and pushed air through. When I start the engine the Boost gauge runs at 20 In.Hg. When I flick the switch you can see the Clutch pop in, it spins faster BUT when you rev it, the gauge doesn't move. I've disconneded the Gauge and blown air through, and it shows pressure. The Silicone bends and clamps are new and tight. Any Ideas?? Thanks

Well my little 4k seems to not be liking me at the moment and has decided it wants to start getting hot argghhhh. anyway so far i have started the process of elimination to the find out if the final outcome is a blown head gasket. this is how far i have got, including reading as many threads as i could What it seems to be doing is heating the water enough to build up pressure and almost fill the overflow bottle everytime i drive it. my daily drive is 45km and for the most part 100km/h so i would have imagined that if it has a blown head it would be getting hot along way before that. now the temp needle itself is sitting a bit above halfway (alot hotter the i ever reme…

Hi everyone just got my new ke70 a week ago and already been defected. Not in the best condition but i have intentions of doing it up eventually. I got defected for body rust (typical kesev places), oil leak in the engine which seems to be coming from the fuel pump, and bald tyres. Not having any trouble with fixing it but is there any other precautions i should take before trying to take it through regency? The car has been converted to manual and as far as i know it hasn't been sighted by anyone (not sure if it needs to be engineered) so will this be a problem? Thanks.

Hello all, I've been meaning to join this site for a few months now but havnt, now i have and I'm glad :) , Anywho, I'm thinking about buying a 76 KE36, awesome car may i add lol The problem is, RUST (shock horror), its all around the guttering of the roof, I was just wondering, how much would it cost to replace the whole roof down the track, How much with a panelbeater and how much as a home job if i can find someone? The car is only 600 and id be mad not to, August rego. And its the original owner (old bloke) whos had it serviced on time every time. So, i'd appreciate it greatly if you could give me some advice :blush: CHEERS :)

I was down at centre road wreckers today and found 4 hubcaps in the boot of a 78 Crown. I not sure if they are crown caps. The look datsunish. They haven't got any numbers or markings on them. can any one give me some info or help, trying to fit some front seats to my ke35, i don't have original seats but i would like some as they would bolt straight up but trying to find seats is a nightmare. ive bought aftermarket mounts and rails to fit my aftermarket bucket seats and they did not fit , its getting o my nerves as its something simple. ke30 seats don't fit as they are 400mm wide from bolt hole to bolt hole where as ke35 sr is 390mm. any info or suggsestions would be great.

hey guys i just found a turbo setup for the k series engine and i was wondering if its worth the time to turbo the 4k or just do a complete engine swap. would like to know from some people who have turbo k's and would like to know output and work involved doing so. cheers guys

I'm supercharging my 4k engine. There is no harmonic balancer on it planning on revving it to 7000 rpm thanks

gday guys.. thinking of converting the rear drums to disk on a ke30 so i can run hydro handbrake and would just prefer to run disks.. is it a hard job? can i just get the front assembely off another ke30 and put it on the back? I'm guessing ill need a different brake master cylinder? ive been told that because its such a light car the disk brakes wont be as effective.. anyway cheers in advance |blink|

G-day my name is pat i've started a 20v conversion into a ke 10 its attached to a supra 5 speed then to a VR holden diff I mechined up a tail shaft to, a friend has done most of the work leaving me to the small bits,now for the question do the 4agze forged pistons have enough valve clearance when the 20v head is bolted on and running i do know when turned over by hand they don't hit anything but by how much???

G'day guys. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is an easy strut conversion to do just so that the spring seat sits about 2-3 inches higher? Because i've brought a set of 17" Mags for my KE55 but the spring seat is only just sticking out too far and my wheel wont get enough clearance to bolt on. Hey Guys, Started having some major drama's with my KE30 today... Now I will admit I have next to no knowledge when it comes to automatic gearboxes... I was driving along today home from work... Started the car and drove off as per normal... All of a sudden I took off from some lights, the car goes to shift gear an the car starts to free rev? I pulled over as this was rather odd... Hi all, i have a bit of a problem. Some fool at the engine shop decided to machine the wrong crank for my new engine as i took 2 in with oil pumps still attached as the damn timing gear didnt want to budge from either and they screwed it up and machined the 4age one. Which i found out after rebuilding, attaching everything, new turbo manifold the lot and then came the harmonic ballancer. Well it has a different Keyway doesnt it. which wont be such a problem as i can get my hands on a 4age 1 i gave my mate. but as its going to be turbo a forged crank would be best. which brings me to my question. Is there any difference between 4AGZE and the 100kw 4AGE cranks? though…

Hi i recently purchased a weber 32/36 DGAV carby off a rs2000 escort and it doesnt seem to have the water choke assembly attached to it, can i just fit the original manual choke off the aisian carby to it? and do i just block off the original emission hoses? thanks

Hi, I have been looking through the knowledgebase/faq section and I thought I had found exacly what I needed, the KE70 chassis electrical system link, but it is broken and seems it has been for a while. I have just done the 4age into ke70 and it is running an EMS computer and wiring. the car starts and was run up on a dyno, I can't figure out the very last piece of wiring, the car starts by a switch but now I just need to wire it into the car, which will allow the ignition from the key and front and back lights to work etc. Does anyone have the pdf file missing from the faq they can email me or does anyone want to help me out finishing the wiring for so…

hey guys wanting to chuck a new diff/ diff head in my ke20 as this one has shat itself. my question is what diff head will bolt straight to my original diff without taking it out or if i was to take it out what diff would bolt straight in for example would a kp60 starlet diff head bolt on or a ke30? any help would be much appreciated
