Hey, just wondering if anybody can help, I am curious as to know the weight of a toyota corona (or similar) 4x114.3pcd 14" steel rim, compared to the factory 14" alloy rim (on corona, tarago, celica etc). Curious as to how much different they are, I've heard that steel rims *can* be lighter than factory alloys sometimes... Robert.

There will be none to minimal trackwork being done and it is a daily. So straight line speed which is quicker? Or more economical? And as a final question, would the 6 speed need modifications done to the transmission tunnel/shifter, and how much would this cost? As there is an extra gear and all... Any person…

hey, just wondering if anybody can get a hold of a wiring diagram for the ac system on my 1990 toyota dyna yh81r, I've got something not hooked up or missing around the distributor/ac control area and my ac won't turn on..... its been pulled apart for ages, and I've just resurrected it (components/leaks/gas/etc) but I can't turn it on!!!! it was a kettering ignition system and its been converted to electronic, and I'm thinking an RPM signal is missing, but not quite sure :thumbsup: Robert.

what sort of cam lift can i put into a 4ac motor ? i have a 4ac in a ae 71 83 carolla it has towing gears ,( will check diff ratio on weekend ) & a 3 speed auto that shifts hard ( really bangs into gear & has done since my mate got it about 7 years ago ) the engine was fully rebuilt 3 1/2 years ago with new acl pistons + 1mm over . the head was mildly ported ( just cleaned up / deburred casting flash but lightly ran over entire port with burr then finished with tape ) i have a rebuilt 32/36 webber carb & adapter plate & new air cleaner . if i regrind my cam for more top end & use a stall covertor & extractors what sort of hp could i expect ??? …

Hi all, my mate and I got a corolla van turned into a ute to use for transporting things we needed for our bus. Now its time this might rolla was converted correctly. The car is strong and runs well but I want to make sure its all done correctly before I take it to an engineer for approval. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking at to make sure its safe? Does anyone here know where to take it in Hobart? As its going to have a business name on it I want it looking hot. At the moment she isnt well, has a starting issue and generally not straight. hey guys, long time reader first time poster. straight to the problem. my car started off with a miss early last week which has now gotten much worse to the point of it being undriveable. the problem is if i give it any less than 3/4 throttle the engine cuts off every second or so (it sounds similar to a bridgeported rotary engine). if i however give it more that 3/4 throttle then it revs as it should at 3/4 throttle. the 3/4 point to me felt like the opening of the secondarys in the carby so i replaced it- the problem still remains. The engine is stock but has no air filter and a very bad exhaust leak. Please let me know what you think some potenti…

Could someone tell me what would cause my intercooler piping to be lined with this? Doesnt smell oily No milky sludge under the oil cap Oil is topped up Water is topped up has been getting rather warm lately burns 2 sec of oil on ignition (valve stem seals?) breather and catch tank to fix perhaps?

Hi all, Just wondering what people think of the 45 DCOE weber carbs... I'm putting together a turbo 3TC, currently have a 3TGTE Exhaust and inlet manifold, a T28 Turbo, and looking at suitable carbs for a blow thru setup, and came across a 45DCOE 14 weber at a fairly reasonable price. Seeing as I got no idea about webers (having been spawned of holden and holley origins) would these be suitable to run in a blow thru setup? I'm aware of the need to fully enclose the unit (or mod to handle boost) and run a rising rate fuel pressure reg, but just wanting to know what sort of flow this sucker would have on a 3T under about 12-14 psi? as some of you know ive put a 12a rotary in my rolla and have much work work to do. what your wounldnt know is that i work for defence/aps so i have nothing better to do then go on rolla club all day while getting paid. any way was thinking about my suspension. my car will not be a drift or tack car. just a fun streeter. so i was thinking of new(stock) front struts with super low king springs up front with new bushes and ball joints and every thing (still stock but). and reset leafs in the back with koni shocks. and new bushes. and white line sway bars. do people think this is enough? should handle better I'm sure

Hey guys, i bought a second hand hilux and the auto in it was running smoothely up untill recently where it is a slow poke at gear timing and it rolls back on hills that are like nothing for it before? and when i go from drive to r or vice versa.. it bashes really hard. any suggestions

Hi i have recently rebuilt my 4age ae82 twin cam engine with 4agze pistons. standard throttle body got the inlet whole port and polished along with the head and some lil mods to the butter flys that open and close. hks cams and gears not sure of specs have them written on the cam sheet gotta dig it out but I'm looking at getting it dynoed. can they change any think or over ride any setting in the computer to make it faster or any thing like that ect ? looking at fitting super charger in the future thats why i went with stronger pistons and all that sorta stuff.. please any info would be great cheers

mk so, my brake light switch was not working, the bolts holding it in place had loosened so it slipped back and was not turning the brake light. so i fixed that and i noticed the brakes were really tight when i pressed it. as in the brake peddal didnt go down as far as it once did. so i topped up my brake fluid and drove it for a coupple of days. a few days after fixing the switch i noticed that the brakes became very squishy and were not as sensitive as the once were. since then they have gotten very bad. so bad that the brakes hardly work ithout pumping the pedal once before the car begins to brake. anyone have any suggestions?? could it be a bubble in the lines? i real…

Looking at upgrading my suspension in ke70, just checking what the go is. If i'm looking to do it in stages, ie springs first the shocks, is that a bad idea......i can't really see why it wouldn't, but just wanting to clarify Also if I'm upgrading to "low" springs, will the shocks i need to buy be different, such as short stroke, or does this apply for different purposes? Hi all, I just got an AE82 with a 4AGE nice deal for only $200 but it needs a new clutch, I'm new to FWD cars i have never worked on them before just need to know what the best approach I should take towards this? I have heard that in some FWD cars u need to take the engine out to get to the gear box/clutch I'm hoping in this case that I can just take every thing out that’s in the way and slide the gear box off the engine.

hey i can't get into any of the mechanical places that have the abbility to do this until like feburay so I'm tryin here and toymods and supraforums and boost i have a ma70 supra and have just put a 7mgte engine with it, the ECU i got with the new engine is tuned to a different 7m with falcon throttle body, huge injectors yadda yadda and basicly runs like arse until it spools up. so we need to remap the ecu with a standard 7mgte base map so....... whos got 1?

Hi, I know we could go on for ages about shocks different options but I wanted a fast quick answer really. Would KE30 shocks fit a KE1X? If not why not? Also KE3X to KE7X are they all the same shocks? Cheers Cameron

hey guys i'm just out for some advice on what kind of lsd's i could put into a ke70 with out much trouble. have a locker atm but looking to get a rwc asap. don't want to keep driving around with a locker as the police here are really cracking down on defects as such. i've been told i can get a hilux diff shortened but i'm still unsure on that. any ideas would be helpful, thanks guys

just wondering if its possible to get replacement jets for a standard carburettor? I have a carburettor off a 2y (1.8lt) and its on a 4y (2.2lt) and the jets are still the original items, also they are 430,000km old, and I'd assume worn somewhat. if its not possible to get the jets, does anybody have access to a toyota workshop manual that would have these sizes? I'm guessing the 4y was original equipment in tarago or liteace, maybe some dynas as well? I'm not adverse to drilling the jets to the correct size!! Robert.

4age in ae 71. has been going good decided to replace inlet gaskets. now it wont idle. its sits between 1500 and 2000 RPM. as though the throttle is stuck on but it isnt. have checked everything have bought new gaskets to replace the ones ive just put in. have zip tied the ''powerband'' throttles shut as process of elimination. Have noticed fifth injector is wired but has always been that way is i got the car.. Any suggestions?? its a 16v with higher comp haltech ecu O2 censor never been wired. temp controlled throttle setup thing blocked trying to provide as much info to make it easier to diagnose

Hey, Bottom hose on radiator got too close to the alternator and was cut. Need a new one now but don't know what hose to get. 2tg engine with a standard ke30 radiator. I have the hose that was on there but have no idea what it came out of. Hopefully someone can help me. Got pics below of where the hose needs to go and what was on there before.

i have a ae95 and i may be buying some nice bathurst globes only problem they are 4x114.3 not 4x100 is there a way to make them fit like a plate or spacer or something i need to know asap any advice would be great thanks

ok once again i have a problem its probably simple but ive tryed to get it to work it wont acouple of days back i fitted twin delorto dhla 40s the car has started and ran a handful of times but now it doesnt want to start right it wants to go wer wer wer but not enough to turn it over =S its also hard to start because it takes abit with the carbies on it sometimes it come close but when i go to try it again it has no poke =S so if someone can help that would be great thanks mitch

I'm building my blacktop, i got some new forged pistons, but I'm not sure weather the orginal rods will be sufficent, i plan on running a turbo on the engine. any words of wisdom wll be greatly appricated.
