hey we just swapped in a silvertop 20v in a ke70: we use blacktop 20v M/T ECU and wiring loom we do use a map sensor we don't use the oxygen sensor or speed sensor the engine idles well and pulls hard up to approx 6500rpm, but it should rev to 8200rpm!! I want some input on why it doesn't?? wiring should be OK, we use 99RON fuel it runs alittle cold water temperature because we fitted a very big radiator, does the ecu set the rev limiter lower when it's not 90-95C? the tacho is correct we don't use the ISCV valve, we set the idle at the throttles else everything should be pretty much stock

hey guys, just got the 7k in and running, (yeeewwww!) hahaha. it was probably one of the easiest and quickest conversions ever! A bit pissed off that th 7k box didnt fit though! anyways 4k 5 speed will have to do. all in alll though it is a relatively hassle free, engine for my little ke70.... I'm STOKED! hahahaha. here are some pics P.S i saw some flared guards on ebay, but when i had enough funds saved up to buy them they were gone, anybody know where i can get some to suit ke70 reasonably cheap? cheers guys, yani

Got my hands finally on a Carter 4594, will have a hand at installing it this weekend. I wired up the fuel relay last weekend, using a horn relay 30-40A. The car is carby mechanically driven fuel pump. What do I need to know? Do I need to empty out the fuel tank? I was going to just lay newspapers on the floor, is there a better way to catch the fuel left in the lines? Sounding silly, but any tips appreciated.

I'm having a bit of trouble with my ke55. Sometimes during turns my wheel locks up and can't turn anymore. I can release the wheel a bit then turn without problem or just pull real hard and hear a big knock. It's like it gets stuck on one point during a turn because once I yank it past that point it turns fine again. The steering has always felt pretty heavy, but now its playing up. I havnt driven it much lately and havnt had time to jack it and check it out. from a quick read up and amatuer opinion i think it could be pitman arm. what do you guys rekon, and how would be the best way to check/test.

I just wondering if anyone has done this before and has any advice, also I'm looking at the moment for ideas on a turbo hat for the top of the carby that i can put the piping into. I'm really looking for some good blow through pictures and hat ideas, ive read through the big turbo thread but want some more ideas if anyone has them At the moment its probably gonna be a bit backyard with a j pipe and a small turbo running about 7-8PSI as I'm not touching the head yet. Cheers :P Also just quickly does anyone know if a 32/36 shares the same shape for an air filt…

I'm a man of many different vehicles and many different mechanical problems, which I'm sure is taking years off my life :) I have a suzuki swift cino 1.3lt SOHC with a carburettor, and it jerks and hunts terribly when driving on the highway (and chomps fuel too) but is quite ok when driving in town. The carburettor has had a kit put through it (by myself) the ignition timing is quite ok, it starts and runs really well in town. Now the question I have, when driving on the highway, at a constant speed, obviously not much load on the engine if any, what circuit would it be running on in the carburettor? I'm assumming the main jet would be the culprit, although a fell…

I have a mazda 626 v6, 1996 model that will not start. It has just had it's engine replaced with a secondhand unit, and it was running quite well, for a few days at least, then it started to missfire, like it either had a bad electrical problem (leads or similar) or it was flooding really badly. it then stalled and now will not restart. it has had a new timing belt and the cam timing is correct. I have good spark. I have put 6 new spark plugs in it. Ignition timing has not been moved from when it was running, cannot see any problems inside the cap or with the rotor or distributor, although as I said before, there is good fat blue sparks happening at the plugs. I h…

BUT lol i know nothing about the car itself, stock boost? at the moment. when i accelerate it takes off, and boosts up but appears to stall for a split second. and then it takes off again, how ever seems to have much lower boost. say from 7psi to 3psi... turn the car off. start again and away it goes.. i have seen on some other images that there appears to be a BOOST switch on the dash.. could this be causing the issue? it appears to be a high / low boost switch standard! or could it…

When i place this against the dash the top 2 screw hole positions, don't really line up with anything. Looks as though it screws into the bottom of the heater control panel. I would like to run the new tyre at the front. This is the tricky part... I want a new tyre with similar characteristics to the "ex-spare" tyre. I'm hoping that someone with more experienced than myself might be able to give me a suggestion in regards to what tyre I should purchase. :y: The "ex-spare" is a Bridgestone RE88. Specs: 185x60x14 I would get another RE88 but they are no longer manufactured, so... my thoughts are to go with a Bridgestone Turanza ER300. If you think you know of a bette…

  32. Hi. I have a 4age 16v big port head I was considering putting Silver Top ITB’s on. Although after measuring the area of the inlet port v’s the throttle area it seems that the 42mm throttle area is smaller than the big port inlet port area. I’m just wandering if this would choke the head of its flow capabilities. Now I’m no mathematician so my calculations could be wrong. But this is to the best of my knowledge. Port area: Area of Big Port inlet ports = 14.93cm squared Area of Small Port inlet ports = 10.68cm squared Throttle area: Area of Silver Top throttle = 13.85cm squared Area of Black Top throttle = 15.90cm squared I measured the di…

Had some mud fun on the weekend, and have no found that one strut in front of my 55 is sagging more then the other. Seems i blew a shock in one side. I have pulled the strut out and taken the spring off, and the gland nut off, drained all the oil from the shock. Just wondering how does the shock come out? should it just slide out? And also can i re oil the shocks ? how do i go about that and what oil? By looking at it, it seems to have 2 breather holes of which i put oil down the strut tube and when i pull the shock up it sucks all the oil in, do i repeat this till full? or 3/4 full? The gland nut seems to have a rubber seal which stops the oil leaking out.…
