I'm about to buy a set of camshafts for my 4age 20v blacktop there going to be 272 with 8.5 lift .would i have to change the springs ? and is that the best profile for hill climbs as i want a lot of bottom end power

I bought some 15" rims for the ke70 but at the strut is pretty much resting on the tyres, what can i do tofix that?

what should the timing be on my 4kc motor be i have a webber 32/36 carb on it and extractors if that makes any difference i looked on search but can't find anything

Been doing alot a reading and aparently you can get a brake upgrade using the xt130 corona struts and stuff couldnt find too much on here to do this so i did some more research on other forums and found this :lol: xt130 brake upgrade n suspention hope it helps the people thinking of doing this and if u do have something like this on here my bad 8/

trying to source mx62 calipers for my brake upgrade ive been to 7 wreakers so far and emailed and rung dosens of people , i can get the mx73 calipers but not sure of how close they are to the 62s,also can get the earlyer ones , but realy just want the 62s as I'm using the guide from toymods , hoping this will work well for my aplication , any one seen any mx62s in wreakers in melbourne??? or does some one wanta sell me a good pair? pay for frieght also i notice the ra60s are always gutted at the wreakers ! any advice who or where i can try next! thanks

i found some Hyundai Elantra stockies on ebay and the owner reckons they have 35-45 offset, Question will they rub against my strut in my ke55? will i have to run spacers? Thanks in Advanced Evan

Hi, A lot of us KE1X owners find it hard to find bushes for our cars and if we want the modern Nolathane bushes we can't they don't make a whole kit for a KE1X So I was wondering plastic is easy to mold usually. So can I DIY bushes and also what type of plastic are those red Nolathane bushes made from? Cheers Cameron

i went down the wreckers today. NO ke70 5 speeds and found nothing but 2 ke55 4 speeds. QUESTION, will a 4 speed out of a ke55 line straight up to my ke55 auto without modification??? and manual cross member out the donor will bolt in?? and shifter will line up???? thanks in advance Evan

replaced the rear shocks on my ke35 corolla. noticed while car jacked up, with handbrake up fully on i could freely move rear side drivers wheel..... i could also remove the drum with handbrake on. i take it i need to adjust the drum shoes?

i cannot find a 5 speed around (a cheap 5 speed) so I'm thinking about going 4 speed, but red dawf reckons my ears are gonna bleed on the freeway is it unbearable in a ke55 4 speed on the freeway????? thanks in advance

ok guys, took my car to the mechanics and there diognostic was that the boost is blowing the spark out, the spark was around 10-000 volts where it needed to be around 30-000+, they recomended to go electronic distributor the thing is my old engine was running points and it ran fine, loved the boost, my boss (mechanic) told me that theres something wrong and it might not be getting enough power in, i have tryed new, plugs, points, dizzy'z, condensors, leads are fresh as are the rotor buttons and dizzy caps, i have mucked around with plug and point gap, no difference, also heaps of different timing. it runs better but still not great with the turbo pipe off…

i want 2/3 degrees of camber and not 5 like sigma LCA whats my options? Cheers, Evan

I'm sickkkk of my ke55 handeling like a little BOAT! needs to be more like a little go cart. i need some camber and some caster and more leafs in the rear ive read somewere bmw E30 shockers fit in the rear of my ke55? (gas and oil filled, stiff as f@$k) 2 or 3 more leafs in the rear? lower it by 2 maybe 3 inches all round no idea how to get more caster, camber will be done next time wheel aligment anymore suggestons????? cheers evan

hiya boys, I was hoping some one could clear this up for me. I had my 4a block acid dipped and bored ready for it's rebuild and was told by my father in law that, if i have a engine block acid dipped that i have to replace all the core plugs and any non ferrous metals parts that might be on it. (he is a yardy and has given me heaps of bum steers) I was thinking about replacing them any way, but I wanted to know is: Does the core plug "NEED" to be replaced, is it "just in case" or while it's out do every thing you can. Hi All, I'm in the process of putting a 4agze into my KE55 coupe. I've installed a T-series diff and thinking of ways of upgrading the rear suspension (hoping to use it as a road and track car). I found this thread on AE86DC. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=33 I'm wondering if the top mounting cup is different in size to the KE70 or AE86? does anyone know? The idea will be to use the coilovers for the suspension and just the top leef (of the original leef pack) as a locator for the diff rather than setting up the trailing arms. Comments???

Ive had my small port 4age with manual transmission in a ke35 coupe for a couple of weeks now..... have developed an unusual jolt/shake.... heres what happens.... Normally most felt when in second or third gear going slow (under 40kph) under light accelaration just cruising along, it will be going along fine then suddenly it will start this jolting and shaking as soon as i accelarate abit more it stops......... i had a feeling its a bad/worn clutch but the clutch feels fine otherwise......... could it be engine mounts not good causing this issue???? when under harder load and driving faster will never make this jolt/shake only when at low speeds with small amnt of …

hey guys i just put extractors on my 4k motor and it is not running right in high revs its great but down low its shit house of course there are some hoses that don't connect buck up to anything when you put extractors on but what hoses do need to be connected still and which ones can i get rid off just want to make it run right thanks guys its working now :D :fuzz:

Got a 4age 16v, and my dizzy is leaking, have taken off cap n changed the rings as I thought that was the only problem but its not, what else could it possibly be, cause thinkin of just gettin another one but if its simple i don't wana spend the money just yet.

Ok I've searched and read the how to make a tough 4k. My question is what am i best to spend the $900 rudd gave me? I would like a 5 speed so theres a couple hundred down, any advice or tips from previous experience what would be best for me to get so more wasp's and power?

Hi all I own a 1975 ke35 which is going to be used for hill climb racing i am in the process of organizing my suspension and brake upgrades and need some questions answered. Also i can do the work myself but at the moment I'm am trying to reduce the amount of potential hiccups that occur in a build. hey guys, so I'm told mx62 and 73 cressida front brake calipers have a different mount, can i overcome this buy just getting the part that the callipers slide on and are mounted to the backing plate with? thanks guys, casey

I'm after some opinions on a setup I'm thinking of running and what you all think, i.e performance whether something isnt suitable and whether I should think of additional changes. Currently i have a stock 5k in front of a 4 speed and this is my plan. Use will be a bit of a weekend fun car, not a cruiser or anything. Bit of fun action in the dandenongs on the weekend! Engine Tighe 104 or similar 32/36 Weber rejetted to suit other mods. Get some extractors at some point after this also Driveline Getting the flywheel lightened with a HD clutch k50 behind this just for the overdrive So if anyone has suggestions of anything else i should do or not do that…

Hey guys, firstly l'm new to this forum, and was hoping that l might be able to get some tech advice on different corolla front suspension setups, mostly in relation to camber plates/top mount etc. I have actually started up a small business on the side (www.elitepros.com), and one of the things l do is sell camber plates for datto's (l have a few dattos myself, and thus decided l didn't want to pay extraordinary prices for camber plates). During making them l have sold quite a few to datto guys, and have been requested by toyota guys (TA22,TA23 celica etc) to make them fit too. just put the head back on my 4k after getting it face and all that. after putting everything back on tourqe down properly the car will turn over. there is spark and fuel but just wont run. what can be the problem?

Hi All, when I bought my second 4k quite some time ago as well as the complete motor the guy I bought it off gave me a cam with iot that has already been ground. now on the end of the cam the code " T121 " has been manually ground into it, does anyone know what grind this may be. the guy I bought it off was from west Auckland in NZ. I was just hoping maybe someone knew so I don't have to pay $100 to get it camdoctored just to find out what the grind is. I need to know because I need to find out whether I will need to upgrade the bvalve springs or not.

Hey all, I recently bought a brake/strut upgrade for my KE30 (the hilux/peugot/corona one) which has 5 stud hubs bolted onto the peugot discs. I asked the seller about them and he told me two different things. First he said they are mx63 hubs, and he told me they are expensive and rare. Second he told me they are ms65 hubs. The disc has been modified to fit them. Can anyone tell me how to identify them, or can anyone identify them from the pictures below? I'm after 4 x 114.3 stud pattern, so which hubs can I use for this upgrade? First things first, I'm unsure if this is the right forum, so modes please feel free to move it where ever appropriate if I've stuffed up. Ok basically I have come across a fairly clean KE70 shell and the plan is to throw in a 4k. Not just any old 4k I'll strip it down to a bare block and be building it myself. My questions are. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find forged pistons, and cam's. I'm sure I can still pick up a gasket kit etc. Also I did a quick search looking for a 4kc build but there doesn't seem to be anything. So any advice you have will be great. I was wondering if any one knows what steering options I could put in my t-18. My steering box is stuffed. So are there any other boxes that fit in? Such as a ke70 Cheers.
