hi i bought a saas boss kit for my ke55 and it fitted the spline and everything good but the thread on the column wasnt long enough to put the nut on, anyone else had this problem? and what boss kit fits? at one autoparts shop they said there is a long and short shaft column in the corollas is this true?

A combination of an uncalibrated tension wrench and/or, weak bolts and carelessness, has left me with a broken flywheel bolt for my smallport. We have managed to remove the broken bolt. Now what can i do? does anyone have any laying around? Particularly Adelaide? ASAP>? Should i ask for genuine toyota, or can i match the bolts at a motor traders. etc provioded they are high tensile steel and exact dimensions? Wreckers even? furthermore, should i replace just the one, or a whole set of 8, seeing as one broke, i don't want to take a risk with any others...if so, will a wrecker be fine or should i try source brand new? thanks guys

Hi all, I have a 1980 ke55 auto, and am changing it to a ke55 5-speed manual. I started the conversion today but when I went to bolt in the 5-speed, the shifter and gearbox crossmember didn't line up. :lmao: So I am just wondering is it as simple as changing it to the ke70 5-speed extension housing which has the shifter in the further back position. This should hopefully line up the gearstick with the original selector hole, but do I need a ke70 5-speed rear crossmember, as I currently have a ke55 manual crossmember and it won't line up with the mounting holes in the floor. Hey guys. My weber's accelerator mechanism is sticking... Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator, it (accelerator thing at weber end of cable) gets all sticky and I have to kinda kick it and give it revs for it to become unstuck... as you can imagine I look like a complete tool revving at traffic lights and everytime I stop, and it's making driving not fun at all... can anyone suggest a way to fix this? I went and wasted $10 on wd40 since I wasn't at home and it didn't fix it at all... Cheers. Edit: Should mention that this is a reconditioned carby and hasn't been on my long enough to succumb to wear/crap inside it.

I own a 5K KE55, and last night at 85% full throttle into a 4th gear corner, I backed off and negotiated through, and noticed the car start to cough and shudder as if it were choking, or misfiring or it was starved, and proceeded to spit and cough and carry on until stalling. It wont hold a steady idle, revs up and down and carries on quite roughly, and cuts out. First thought was a fuel problem, so I got it going and limped it home. Where it would violently shudder and spit and cough until ¾ throttle where it would appear fine and purr away? Upon limping home I first checked the fuel flow as I run an external elec pump. Picked up a nippon denso electronic distributor ,with internal ignitor. What i need to no is what sort of coil do i run with it,brand and numbers would be helpful. Also there is two wires coming out of it ,one black,and one black with orange tracer on it :dance: . Thanks inadvance rob :dance:

Hi All, It's me again with another possibly dumb question. IOn my carbs I have a few vacuum connections, and I wanted to know what the vaccum connection on the top of the carb just below the lip for the airfilter is for. (# 2 in pic) I have one on both of my Aisin carbs on my twin carb seyup. Also Why is it that only one of my carbs has the connection for the bottom vacuum that I believe goes to the Vacuum advance. (# 1 in pic) around there. sorry for bad picture any help would be much appreciated. P.S I don't have as many vacuum lines as the one in the pic.

Hi All, I know this has probably been covered before, When I installed my twin carbs I never bothere dhooking up the choke mechanism as I was missing a couple of bits from the l9inkage set up and It doesnt take all that long for my car to warm up. so anyway cutting to the chase... Am I able to remove my choke butterfliies?? If so will there be any difference to anything?? power, Idle, Induction noise, fuel..... and is it as easy as unscrewing them?? please inform me if you know.... cheers Jono!!.

Hi All, recently I was given a vacuum gauge and I was jusrt wondering what a vaccum gauge actually tells you. I hooked it up to the line from my vaccum advance on the dizzy that runs to the carb. the vacuum seems to build up when accelerationg until the second butterfly opens it then goes down. is the vaccum just pressure building up between the time of the fiirst opening and the secondary opening??

I'm trying to install a towbar on my van at the moment, and it doesn't have a harness for the trailer. I found a cable that had been cut off, it has 5 wires in it. Anyone here know much about trailers? not sure if it is a harness or not, and if it is, what wires to use when i connect a plug. any help would be appreciated :dance:

think mines a big port due to gap between the middle 2 injectors bein bigger aparently, small port gaps are all the same??so yeah wats better dosent bother me just wana know cheers heres mine if some 1 can comfirm what it is

RHS REAR LHS REAR Happen turning right in a carpark at 5kph, heard/felt a clunk come from the rear. Thought id snapped an axle as thats what it felt/sounded like. Pulled the axle out this morning but its in perfect conditon so ive got NFI what the problem is. There were no other obvious breaks/snaps anywhere in the rear end... Car still drives, but crabs something shocking (i only drove it down the driveway once off the tow truck).

hey all just got my new ke70 5 speed plan to keep the 4k because its fair punchy for a 4k haha. umm i want to supercharge it but its locked atm so I'm going to guess with the power boost axles are going to high tale there asses out. how much am i looking to get a r31 diff (28 spline) shortend and how hard is it to link up the disc brakes? any help appreciated Jamin

Hey hey, I'm having some problems with the 3k in my KE30 and I'm not sure what to do. All I've done after buying the car is: Oil/oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the spark plugs and run out off fuel on the way to work :D run some fuel system cleaner through it but got no love. has anyone on here dismantled an sc12 and changed the seals behind the bearings any info on this would be appreciated, and would really like to talk to someone who has done it before if there is anyone apparently the only way to get the bearings out to change the seals is by destroying them or heating them as i have just found on another site, but you need to make them hot like 200-400 degrees ish, to melt the glue to push them out anyway, has anyone done before?

Hi all, I am having great difficulty getting a pair of kits to suit my new carbies. I keep getting asked 'what vehicle where they released on?' How the phuk would I know!! The carbies are Aisan and numbered 24060 & 24070, they are Toyota supplied and I think are on the original K series manifold. Can anyone tell me the Make, Model and year of the vehicle this was originally released on?? I suspect it is a 'Japan only' model? EDIT: ignore the filters they are not original.

I'm just curious i have read other places that to use the sr brakes in a ke one of the things you need to do is use a s13, r32 3 or 4 abs master, why is this, couldnt you just use a standard s13 or r3 yadada... why is this and is it nessacary. and does anyone know what they are worth and what not. cheers, moz,

hey . this is for a friend. he owns a car as the same model as the one in the pic and its a 4a-c auto and it keeps blowing head gaskets (5 to recall). i was thinking it was something to do with the way the radiatior was mounted and was making air pockets in the top coolent cilinder in the engine? could be wrong please help

hey i am going to be putting my new engine in this weekend and a going to be putting twin SU's carbs on. but apparently you can not buy the brackets for K engines so i got told that i will have to build a bracket to conect the acc cable to the carbs. if you have SU's can you please send in a pic of you brackets so i got a rough idea how to make 1 for my SU's or even better and diagrams thanks heaps Myles

My friend has AE90/Holden nova with dead 4A-FC twin cam carb motor. I've been looking for cheap 4A-FC but no luck, I found a low km well price 4A-FE injected motor and want to know if the carbi intake manifolds and exhuast manifold are direct bolt up fit? Also will it bolt up to the gearbox the same way? Engine mounts the same? Anyone know? I'd do a whole EFI conversion for her but she doesn't have the money.

well it seems my car has a miss. I have a ke30 with a 2tc engine recently replaced the distributor cap/ rotor and points along with the spark plugs and cables, the carb is set to the factory specs there is no vaccum leak either, timing has been checked as well. It occurs when staying a constant speed when accelerating it does fine and seems to dissappear any ideas? thanks, matthew
