Does anybody know the size of 2tg valves both inlet and exhaust??? i need new ones for my head so i can bolt it back on my car :hammer:

Got the 5K driving finally. Driven a few times with no filters (they're coming...). The exhaust note is wicked, nothing too intrusive, but the bloody induction noise is really quite staggering (Twin DHLA 40's). I don't expect it to change too much, but has anyone noticed whether Ramflo's/Unifilters make much reduction in intake noise? It still needs a bit of tuning here and there which might alter it. What have other people done to quieten there twins down? I'm thinking of making up an Airbox for it with a pod. Let me know. TP

Hey Guys, Well my project has been going super slow (4KTE), got all the parts, just need to put it together. Ive got a 4K-U engine with dished pistons (can tell by the two lumps on the head under plugs 1 & 4). soon ill be getting a head off a regular flat-top 4k (in order to drop CR) my question is is it a straight swap? pull off my head and put the "new" one on? or do i have to swap over the push rods or anything like that? second Q is.. Where can i find ARP Head Studs and Bolt? since i will be boosting, and quite a bit i recon, i want the head to sit nice and tight.. Thanks, David

When i bought an AE71 the other week the fuel tank was removed from the car.... and just yesterday i tried to put back in but then realised that i didnt no where all the fuel lines go? the car has a VLT fuel pump as well as a surge tank any help would be good cheers

Hey in the middle of a build-up. 4age SP, 7 rib block I have done all the main caps/bearings etc. While checking the normal thrust clearance (Sideways) it's perfect very little movement 0.015-0.020. But while spinning the crank over I notice the thrust bearing itself slightly moving up and down and across, Not (sideways) am I making any sence?? :jamie: Is this a problem?? Measures up identical to old set and no machining been done just a crank linish. Any ideas???????????????

Hey guys.. In an effort to get the rolla back on the ground quicker I am going to use the std ke25 diff but converting it over to 114.3.. I have the jap type diff with the bolts on the front.. Now I have read that I need ke30 axels and braking assembly, but when I was at the corolla wreckers he told me there was 2 types of ke30 diffs.. the jap type and the borgwarner type.. Does anybody know if theres a difference between the two and which one I should be using for this conversion?? Or am I totally wrong and should I be chasing a ke55 rear axels and brake assembly?? Also while I'm here, roughly how much power would a std 25 diff cope with?? ill b…

Hello all. Wondering if anyone can help me with some info. I have an ae92 corolla which "shudders" but only when in reverse. It's more noticable when the clutch is being released. There's no vibration at all in any forward gears so i'm guessing it's not the the clutch that's buggered. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers.

as the topic states, how hard is it to drift a ke70 with a std 4k and a locker in the dry?? how much work is needed to to this??(not engine work, physical work) cheers

hey guys, i want to find out what the cam in my 5k that i blew up on friday is... I'm kind of convinced by it shitting another (practically new) lifter before i blew it up, that it might be a solid cam, and if so I'm gonna stick the f@$ker in my 4K. which is horridly slow after the high comp, cammed 5k :laff: whats the best way to tell, or if you can't just measure it, who do i take it to (prefer northside brisbane) to get it measured up. cheers kents :lolcry: Luke/ella/kent

I have a ke30 I was given some steel 13x7 wheels for it but they are universal fit I need the hub dimension so I can make or buy hub centric rings to center these wheels

I am trying to take out the rear seat in my 2-door KE20 but can't seem too get it out?......have removed the two lower bolts on the front of the seats but l can't see any more bolts to remove to get them out. Do l need to remove the parcel shelf to get to the other bolts or are there any special way to slide the seats out? Any help would be great, after removing the entire engine, and interior in half a day getting stopped by this is giving me the sh**s. Thanks for your help. p.s. checked int he boot too but there seems to be no bolts holding the seats in from there!

i have a dunga body and a nice reliable motor and box i also have a cheap body I'm picking up on the weekend with no motor and box thats defected planning on using it for parts on mine but i figure engine swap be hell of alot easier but its defected can i get it off defect easily? (defected oil leaks) so when i drop my motor in this car the leaks are gone right so no problem to get it running right how hard is it to get it off defect :party:

Hey guys i own a 1980 toyota corolla ke55 wif a 4K engine the engine seems to be in pretty good condition as its only done about 162,000k's and have been driving the car for over a year wif no engine problems at all... Ive decided i wanna put some twin carbies on to it but have limited knowledge... I have a few questions, what do i need to do or get for the car to get them on apart from the manifold and carbies?? And what carbies are the best; Weber/ Dellorto/ Solex advantages/disadvantages of each?? Hi all, I have bought a secondhand 5k motor today out of a Liteace van, and I noticed that on one side of the sump there is a solenoid with a wire coming off it, also along the manifold side of the head are some small pipes that screw into the cyl head. :S So if anyone has an answer about what these two things are used for, then that would be awesome. :y: :bash: as my other 5k in my ke20 doesn't have this stuff. Hi everyone. I have a KE70 1982 and when i turn on the lights the high beem doesnt come on. when i flip towards the steering wheel then it comes on but when i flip back it doesnt. the lights are on when i try. thanks Scott

I have just came into posession of a ke30 powered by a 3k engine. I am planning to use the car for slalom racing and I need help with what will fit this car. I am looking for front strut interchange brake upgrades and what differentials interchange. Any help will be greatly appreciated. ok guys, rebuilt my motor, got it running, once its ran for about a minute, it spits all the oil out, around the area of the oil filter, fuel pump, engine mount, blocking plate and oil pressure sensor, now I'm sure its not the headgasket, oil pressure sensor, i thaught it could have been the filter as i had a z9 on it, i changed to a z89a (recomended) the reason i thaught it could have been was because the z9 has an anti drain back, i asumed it might have flowed the oppersite way and pressured up, so could it be coming from the, fuel pump little blocking plate at the back of the block or the filter? one of the bolts is shonkey in the fuel …

1990 Toyota Corolla GTS 4AGE FWD My harmonic balancer gave out and I searched high and low to find one, toyota has them for $450 new. Took a chance on one from a auto wrecker in New York (I live in canada near vancouver). I explained in detail that it was for a 4AGE engine to make sure I am actually getting what I am ordering. 3 weeks later it finally shows up and ofcourse its not the same as my old one. Same diameter but weighs about 2 pounds heavier. The half that drives my alternator belt is skinnier, one fewer grooves. Now I don't know if its just a matter of getting a belt to fit and this one will work fine. I don't want to take a chance on screwing up my cran…

hay all i just put a 5k in my ke30 rolla acouple of months ago and i want to upgrage my brakes. i have ra60 strutes and calipers and i was going to put them on but I'm not now because of camber issues. i want to put ke55 brakes on but i need to no somethings???? can i just bolt the ke55 disks and calipers to my ke30 strutes???? or do i have to change the hole lot to ke55 calipers/strutes and disks???? cheers shaun

okay guys, me and a few mates have a little competition going. we have set ourselves a budget of $500 to spend on getting a car and modifying it. then we are taking these cars to an undisclosed location, and having a series of little comps. well, ive pretty much purchased a ke70 corolla which is going to leave me with $300. now. i was thinking of removing all interior and any hanging panels. is their anything in the engine bay i could remove to gain some weight back? also, i have a air filter laying around form a 4wd race car, would this be two big for the little 1.3? also is their any cheap mods i can do to get this thing moving along?

ke20 stock motors have a cable or hydraulic clutch?. reason I'm asking is because i have a ke20 with a 2t celica motor and the clutch master cylinder is leaking want to know if the cluch is from the ke20 or the ta22. i bought it with the motor in it already so i don't know.

Hey everyone bought a ke70 not long ago now the exhaust it c**t and she blows a lil smoke what could it be??? i was gonna get a new exhaust but i like the sound lol.. yeah so why would it be blowing smoke? not alot ov smoke and not very visible but it smells.. the motor is low ks so yeah if she blows in comes the sr20 but just wondering why?

Hey everyone. I put in a 5 speed in my ke30 on thursday night but now I'm leaking gearbox oil from what seems to be where the speedo cable goes into the gearbox itself. Any ideas how I could fix it? Don't exactly want to get a new speedo cable.

Hi, I'm after some genuine advice regarding my 20valve. Ever since i bought the car, i've had idle problems. When its cold, it idles good, but when it gets warm the idles keep playing up. When i stop on lights the car sounds like its goin to turn off, but sometimes itll slowly make its way up back to 900 rpm, and idle good. Ive done a full service including leads, iridium plugs, filters, changed TPS, changed the computer (stock 20valve) and i've still had no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem or knows their 20valves well enough to help me out? Thanks.

Hi all, I'm trying to sort out my brakes with bits I have at my disposal. I have an almost complete KE70 and hubs off a KE20. Can the KE70 calipers be used on the KE20 Discs/hubs on my KE10?? What other parts would be required?? I'm also looking at fitting the brake master out of the 70, any issues I'm likely to encounter? Thanks all. Ken
