  1. Hi all , I’ve recently bought an old KE70 wagon that I’m wanting to restore, I’ve noticed under the bonnet there’s a sticker saying that the car can contain asbestos, I know that older cars has asbestos in the brake pads, clutches and some seals, I’m just wondering what else contains asbestos in the car? Does the interior insulation or car underbody coating contain asbestos? any help or information would be appreciated Shane
  2. Hey team need some help tried looking all over the net and can't find what i need, Currently trying to install my speedo cluster into my 1981 AE70 sedan but have a slight problem. There is ment to be 3 connector plugs leaving the loom into the back of the dash like the first photo. In my car i have 2 of the 3 plugs but where i should have the 3rd one i have two smaller ones that don't fit in any kind of way and have me all confused on why they are there and what they would have been for(see second photo). Any ideas on how to fix would be awesome or if anyone has any type of wire diagram so i could try wire in a normal plug Cheers
  3. My AE71/KE70 drift build. Follow along, help me out, learn things, drift things!
  4. Gday guys! So I'm in a bit of a pickle at the mo. Took my car for a warrant(new zealand) to get it road worthy. Its failed on blown drivers side shock and cracks in the body/floor above the diff head. To cut a long story short the diff(from previous owners attempts to lower the car) had been slapping against the floor causing it to crack. Its been lowered(flattened leaves i think) and the bump stops above the ubolts have been cut in half! Lol but the stopper above the diff had been left normal height? If i ordered a generic set of lowering blocks would it stiffen up the rear and stop the so called diff slap? I'm guessing its getting the extra travel from the bump stops being modified. Any thought on this would be much appreciated. Need to get the cracks welded up to pass, then she'll be all go! Cheers, jayden.
  5. Hello guys this is my first toyota Sprinter KE70 with Toyota 7KE engine . Thoughts please , Bought it as a daily driver .
  6. Hey guys just recently brought my 1987 Ka67 AUTOMATIC Toyota Carina for a steal. Its running a 5k 3 speed automatic box and was curious to see if a k50 manual would bolt up to it? If so, what pedal box can i use to operate the clutch which was never there? I know its not a corolla, but i thought I'd give it a shot, sick of the crummy auto box already! Cheers!
  7. Hey everyone, Just a question has anyone got a go to place/site for their carby needs for their KE10? I'm looking at one on Mikes Carburetor parts and I'm seeing if anyone has used it before and if its any good. I have had some issues with my carby, I think the accelerator pump has one to heaven thus causing a flat spot/stumble/hesitation. If not does anyone has any good recommendations? I'm not sure if its allowed but ill post the link so you can see whats in the kit. http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Toyota-Carburetor-Kit_p_4426.html Once again, hopefully this can be answered which will give other members a great place to check and provide them with the information they are looking for. Regards Fallen1
  8. Hey everyone, Just a question has anyone put a new clutch in their KE10? I'm looking at one on eBay and I'm seeing if anyone has used it before and if its any good. If not does anyone has any good recommendations?
  9. Hey Everyone, I have been meandering through previous threads and come across a general opinion. A lot of advice on suspension setup for these KE1x is geared/directed towards "high performance". I'm wondering if there is straight swaps for the struts on the front and rear that wont lower, raise stiffen etc the ride but rather keep it as intended by Toyota. I'm in the process of lookin at struts and the only ones i seem to be able to find are Pedders. (listed below) Front Shocks 8778 Pedders Cartridge Rear Shock 8032 Pedders Shock Absorber Rear Shackle Bushes / Kits EP8118 KIT REAR SPRING REAR EYE & SHACKLE I was quoted 560 just in parts, which seems a bit excessive. does anyone know of a better alternative? Regards F1
  10. my dads 88 ae82 se 1.6 (4ac engine) now now before i get roasted and get told to get rid of it here's the story i only ever liked old corollas up to the ae86 and then my father got this stock ae82 he kept it well serviced always kept it in great condition the only mod's he did was change the steering wheel and put a free flowing exhaust on (don't know why) i didn't really like it. it was slow and i was used to my v8vf but unfortunately he passed away last year leaving me this car. i immediately changed my tune and started loving it. it was my fathers last car. i (and some will say stupidly) sold my v8 and now drive this everywhere. no one can bag me out for it now because it has sentimental value and ive changed my opinion i love 80's corolla's as well now! haha so um one of my questions is what can i do to slightly mod/improve this car while keeping it as original like my father had it as possible. k thx adrian I'm in australia birsbane
  11. Hi all, This is my first post and I'm kinda new around here but I thought I'd start documenting my 1981 Toyota Corolla Ke70 build and everything else that comes along with it :wasted: So i bought my little poo brown corolla about a month or two down in Gosford (I live in Sydney) with around 69XXX genuine kms on it off some dude looking like dis, high in the air, but on stock steelies: It was in pretty good condition bar a few dings, had close to no rust, deep dish steering wheel, new alloy radiator and started and ran! Had a pretty dodgy drive back home as the thing pretty much didnt have brakes  I wish I took photos of them but it was metal on metal and looked like it had been that way for a long while... Anyway got her home and did a few things like changed the sludge (oil) in the old 4K motor, did all new pads, shoes, drums etc, the rear shocks were blown so I put some cheap shit ones in to get me through, cut 2 coils out of each of the springs for dope appeal, a AJPS adjustable panhard rod and put some 13x7" shoes on her and thats how she sits up until today: Lovin the roof racks and the granny spec louvre :lovin: After installing the Ae71 Tacho Dash, I cut the dash and centre console to fit 3 52mm gauges (which I haven't gotten around to buying yet... no real point) a double din touch screen Head deck. Also installed some 4inch speakers in the front and 6x9inch speakers in the rear. Purple Haze (Y) I decided i would focus on the suspension and brake work first while i find, buy and build an engine. so i started buying and saving a fairly long list of parts so i could put everything in in one go as it is my daily driver so..... (HOPEFULLY NEXT WEEK!) Anyway, heres what I've bought suspension wise so far: Suspension Parts List Weld on Coilover Sleve Kit (AJPS I believe) Cusco Camber Tops 8kg coils Bilstien dampers Ae86 Hubs and Vented and slotted rotors JDM Ae86 Callipers rebuild with all new seals and pots Braided lines XT130 LCA rebuilt with superpro bushes and new balljoints Ae86 P/S knuckles AJPS RCA's Hardrace Castor Arms TRD Ae86 18mm Rear Swaybar SRI front Strut Brace AJPS tie rod ends, rack rends, rack boots, lock spacer Every front end Superpro bush 6kg Rear coils BC racing rear spring seats (Eventually) Bilstien dampers in the rear All this shit is waiting ready to go and i can't wait to post again with some actual build photos and progress! :rocknroll:
  12. HEY GUYS This is my first build. So please take it easy on me if i make or say somthing like a complete noob. I have been researching for a very long time nearly a year. i had a ke30 at the sart and was going do a conversion in it brought a blue 55 as a daily to drive around why i did it then for some reason i sold them both (don't ask me why :( ) after have no corolla for a few weeks i could not handle it went out and brought a white manuel ke70 with a 4k had that for a fair while got real seriouse about the conversion and decide to sell it off and try find a ae71 with a 4 ac and t50 in it so i was already half way there sold the 70 been looking for a fair while now finally found one probaly payed to much for it.. but this is the only one i found as a manual and ive been looking for a while now. only down side its un rego :( PLAN OF ATTACK pick the car up this weekend have a good look over it make a list of stuff i need to get it where i bealive it could get over the pits. take it over get that wonderful list they always give you fix those few things up and then go back. 4age time :) once i get the car rego I'm gonna get a front wheel drive toyota seca pull the 4age wiring and ecu out of that. and hopfully with out to much hasle get it runny once running I'm gonna go get it al linced then in the future when i get the dollars I'm loooking at coil over bigger brakes and turbo :) but ill need diff upgrades and all that first so I'm dreaming a lil there.. I have a fair bit of mechanil knowledge so I'm gonna go and try do it all myself whats the worst thats gonna happen?? tbh the installing the motor and all that doesnt bother me I'm just worried about the wirring to be honest read alot about it but tbh i think it sounds alot easeir then it is... ill try make weekly updates to let everyone see how my progess is going. I'm always open for info help advice or anything I'm only new to the game so any infomation is appreciated

  16. I'm selling my Toyota Corolla Ke70. It is a rolling shell as the motor does start but there is a bad rattle when it's running and the car doesn't really drive without cutting out. Not sure what brand the rims are but they look pretty good.
  17. Hey guys. Bought my first car the other day, its a 1984 Toyota Corolla Ae71. Checking over the car the wiring is a bit dodgy and in some places not even there so I was just wondering if anyone would be able to send me a wiring diagram for the car and possibly some pictures mainly of the loom near the starter motor, under the dash etc. Would be nice to get this thing wired up properly and back on the road as at the moment theres so many things not wired up on it it would get defected pretty quick. Thanks in advance.
  18. ive got a 1982 ke70 and wanting to know what colour will suit it best , ive decided either a black or white (both gloss) ? opinions..
