The Ae71 is running superb and not giving me any hassles which is great :yes: However I'm having a little trouble, (more of an annoyance really) when it come's to starting it. Cold, starts fine, hot also starts fine. If I get out of the car and leave it for a few minutes it's fine but if I leave it for 20 minute's or so it's a bastard to start. I have to hold my foot to the floor which seem's to get it to fire after maybe 6 second's of cranking. If anyone could shed a little light on this that would be great.. I mean sure if it was hard to start all the time I'd have places to look, but its only once its hot and has been sitting for a short period of time... …

Okie dokie. So I'm hoping to buy the damaged CSX thats for sale and would just like a little more insite as to what I need to do to transfer the motor into my KE30. Grim has told me that it will fit with the help of an AE71 or AE86 cross member and engine mounts. As to the gearbox, will I be able to use a 5spd manuel? And what would be recommended. Regarding this driveshaft. What exactly is a driveshaft? I'll search into what it is but just a generalisation of what it is will help. And why would it have to be custom? Thanks in advance.

hi, i am looking at re-powering a ke70 but don't have the funds to put the 4age motor in, was thinking about putting in a warm 4ac what are your opinions on this, and were can i find a good 4ac motor. cheers ROSSOTOON

OK Folks, I am building up a 4AC to go in my KE70, Eventually this will become a Rally Car, yes I know its not a 4AGE. (don't get started om this one, the categories I am planning to run do not allow it) So I have managed to get myself some 40mm Dellorto DHLA Sidedraughts to go on the 4AC, I know HKS used to make a set of intake manifolds to suit webber/dellorto carbs. So my question is, does anyone know how to get them, have made a set etc, can lend my diagrams to making my own etc, I have a good engineer helping on this one, however if anyone can lend their advice to me is appreciated and also easier. Hey all, I recently got a 4AC in my KE70.. and the second cylinder from the front keeps stopping after driving it for about 2 hours.. if u take the spark plug out ( its black as ) clean it up.. put it back.. runs on 4 again and runs normal.. and also.. in my other rolla i have a locker.. and ive got one in this also.. and my other one made this real grinding noise.. it sounded like it was coming from the diff but someone said it could be the wheel bearings.. but anyhow i was messing around today and i was in the middle of no where... then it started to make the same noise as my other one.. but alot louder and its only in 3rd and 4th that u can hear it, were as in my othe…

The throttle on my 4ac (ae82) is sticking. Its so bad it doesn't start sometimes until I pump the throttle enough that it frees up. There's quite a delay between me releasing the throttle and the revs dropping. Also when I clutch in to change gears it revs up about 300rpm before dropping again. Ive cleaned out and around the carby. Ive also lubed all the throttle components around the carb. The throttle return spring works fine and doesn't feel like there's any delay. I've got a weber and adapter plate I could put on but I'm not sure how hard it would be to hook up the accelerator cable, fuel line or what I'd do with the vac lines. hey, I'm building a 4ac, i have got most of it covered exept for a few things - where to get ARP rod bolts - what i can do to the head apart from porting i.e. dobble valve springs..? - what rings to use, have bigport pistons not sure if the rings are the same as 4ac or not ( ACL maybe?) the build is on a low budget so not uber expensive parts for me. regards aaron please people i do not want to hear how stupid this is and why don't i just buy a 4age. i have my resons

hey, been driving along for a while, fairly problem free. it starts missing badly, just cruzing along then it just misses like a bastard i have put heaps of fuel cleaner shit on the fuel, mixed it strong, held a few revs on it. its had new plugs and dizzy cap recently and i ave swapped a few spare leads around. it dosent do it all the time but when it does it does badly, it has an exhaust leak which I'm getting a gasket for but i dought it could make it miss like this

Hey Guys/Gals I'm looking at putting a 4AGE in my AE92 Seca which currently has a 4AFC I have heard I will have to change the fuelling system and a few other things. hey i have heard that the 7afe head gasket came out standard as a metal one this would fit on a 4afe wouldnt it if so does anybody know and good places in adelaide that sell them thank you very much

can anybody tell me if i can put a 4afe head on a 4age block or 7afe block what components of the 4age or 7afe block will i need and can i use most of the 4afe accessories etc the head is ported polished and will be getting a hardwelded cam profile the same as the web cam on their site and 4age valve springs as of this weekend cheers

Hey guys as the title says I have a Ke70 and I'm just thinking about doing a 4afe conversion because of ease of getting the motor and price as I don't have the money to buy a ge motor and I can do ask the work myself just have a few queries am I right in thinking a t50 gearbox will fit it for the obvious rear wheel drive and as for the dizzy problem will a 4age rwd thing fit it and I would run Cathy so I don't have to hunt down a rwd manifold what other pebbles would I run into as for mounting I have read that 4afe blocks are the same as 4age blocks so engine mints won't be a phlegm I can get them any help would be much appreciated it didn't have to be a race car just ada…

Hey guys now this is porbly a old question and belive me when i say i have done my research, What makes a 4AGE so much better then a 4AFE Apart from the next Generation twin Cam... Do big port and small port 4age heads have the same size inlet valves? If they do, would the air flow be any different between the two heads? Just trying to work out which head/ cam combinations would work best. thanks

Ok. So, the water pump pulley on my 4ag was worn. I bought a JASMA pulley kit to suit 20v/16v. Bought a 20v water pump also as they are shorter (to help it line up) The water pump pulley sits about 4mm foward to the standard crank pulley and alt pulley. And the crank pulley from the kit is about another 4mm back from the standard pulley. Am I missing something? Should it all fit??

hey ive got a ae92 1992 model with the supercharged 4age...lately the eng light has come on and it just wont rev/drive properly..ive had mechanics look at it and they can't find codes but one today said it feels like its in limp mode? if anyone has come across this before let me know...or what can i look at myself? i was told the sensor inside the air box had been permanently disconnected? is that bad?

webbers took me for a drive in his ae82 twinky tonight, oh my god, those things pull hard, i was suprised, this made me think that these engine s in the earlier rollas must be fast cars. this then makes me think how fast my rolla s going to be, with more power and less weight, (than the big port) i'm farking stocked. thats all really just had too say something. paul

Hey guys, I'm running a 4age 16v small port, with 20v Quad throttle Bodies, an adaptronic ecu and brand new valve springs.. I'm just wandering what cam shafts you have put in your 4age, and where a good place to get them online is, without the killer $800 per shaft price.. I'm keen to run an exhaust and Intake shaft, and decided to ask some questions before hand.. I was thinking about running the Tomei Pro 304 Duration with the 11.0mm lift.. Just wondering if anyone is running a slightly larger profile set of cams in their 4AGE on a standard computer and can give me a no-bullshit take on how it drives? With everything there is always a tolerancebuilt into the std computer, but I'm used to GM products, and mostly carbies, not japanese ECUs and Fuel injection. Ive read just about anything and everything I could find on the net, but its hard to make a judgement without driving one yourself and seeing if it "works" with the STD computer. I have just removed the head to replace a blown head gasket in my ke with my 4age 16 valve big port I was wondering if anyone has a link to an online engine manual that gives you orders of what's bolts to do up in what order for the head and cams etc and mainly torque specifications for head bolts and so on??

Brand new 52mm Aluminum Radiator 220mm flywheel. 4a Clutch. Clutch master slave and hardline. Wiring loom x 2 Ecu What else do I need to put this setup in my ksev?
