hey guys i am looking to upgrade the carby on my 5k i was really wanting to go sidedrafts but i simply can't afford it at the present time. i have been looking into the webber side of things for it. the motor is fully ballenced with standard bottom end hydrolic lifters and all. it is running a lumpy as hell cam (unsure of specs as there are no new markings on there to identify what cam profile or who did it) a proted, polished and shaved 4k head, coby headers into a 2" freeflow exhaust.(and is fully rebuilt under 5,000kms ago) the webber i have come accross is a webber an old guy here in my home town (in NZ) there is a stamping on the side of it saying "34 DCHD" a…

Hi guys i have two 32/36 DGAV webers with coolant chokes. One is stamped italy and the other spain. I herd some rumblings from an escort finatic a few years back that these are like apples and pears sorta look the same but not. Apparently the italy stamped one is better ? Any dealings with this minor difference.

hey guys A Long way down the track i will eventually i will improve my engine power to a major increase however my ke20 just with the 4k 1.3 it doesnt brake that well i mean pulling up has a delay which isnt that safe i don't think anyways so was wondering wats the best way about stopping alot better. i was browsing through the net and the website and came across superjamie dude that says that ke70 brake with vn commodore callipers would stop the car very well.. otherwise whats the best way about stopping the car on a budget with not alot of mechanical knowledge.. costs would be helpful too guys on a budget.. Hey all, This is something I mentioned in a for sale thread last week, thought I'd take a couple of pics for those that want to see. Basically, all K motors have the same size exhaust ports except for a 7ke. 7kc still is still the same size as 3/4/5k's. Below is a couple of pics of a 7ke manifold gasket up against a 3k big port head. And for anybody who didn't know 7ke's also have bigger oval shaped inlet ports. If you round out the holes they're then the size of a 3kbp. size for the average pics, they're off my phone. Cheers, Si.

just a quick question guys, have recently come across a sc14 supercharger for shitall, and was just wondering if it could be usedlike a conventional style supercharger, carby ontop feeding straight into the intake manifold? does anyone know if they will keep the fuel/air mixed? :y: if so, i was thinking about making up an adaptor plate, much like the one for a carby, to mount it to the top of a 4k manifold, were the carby should be, then another plate to fit the carby back ontop of the supercharger, and to be able to drive it i was going to extend front pulley rod out to level with the fanbelt using pillarblock bearings, anyone think that drawing thru one of th…

Hey guys, just wondering whether anyone knows what car this radiator is from? Reason is, that my car has had a 4age conversion and a larger radiator installed, complete with custom mounts welded in. For simplicity reasons i would like to identify it in order to get a new one (old one is leaky). Here are some pics. I can take more if needed! I'm wondering if anyone can help with some knowledge on my KE10 tacho dash? I bought this dash some time ago and pulled it out of the cupboard to clean and repair it as a couple of the little coloured plastic lenses were floating around in it. My question is, on the pic, below the tacho and speedo what goes where? There was a blue lense floating around and i imagine that is for high beam, but which side? Also what colour lense should the other side be and what sort of warning light is it? Any help is appreciated, Matt...

went to drive my car today and it runs fine and all but when i rev over 4000 rpm it just free revs and the car doesnt pickup speed has anyone else had this proble or knows how to fix it cheers

Hey folks, I pulled apart a 4K nippondenso dizzy tonight to get a good idea of the advance weights etc. I'm going to take a punt at recurving the thing myself. The cam plate has stamped in it 4G. From my reading, it seems a common thing with some dizzy's that you can get different cam plates to change your total advance etc. Does anyone know: - If there are different cam plates available to fit and where would I find the part numbers OR - If this particular dizzy is used on other cars (ie - I might be able to pull apart other ones to get the guts and maybe find new cam plates!!) If someone has similar info for Bosch dizzys then that would also be usef…

My new weber didn't have a spot for the pcv valve and I would have to make one up on the manifold. My question is; whats the service interval for oil changes without the pcv valve? If its really low I will get the manifold sorted to take the valve, if its not so bad I just won't worry about it.

Hey all have had my engine sitting in the garage for over 6 months now. The guy i had bought it off said he had filled it with oil for storage...Just waiting to confirm i should fully drain the engine and put new oil in it before sitting it in the car........Also before reconnecting the gearbox is there anything i should do to prepare the engine/gearbox like oil/fluids etc or can i just connect the gearbox and sit the engine :y: Thanking you for your reply in advance :o

Hey guys, I'm currently revising some of the info in the FAQ in regards to the K-T50 gearbox options. All I want to know is: Does a T18 T50 gearbox have a 20 spline output like a TA22, or a 22 spline like an AE71/AE86???? Would like an answer asap so I can include it! :dance: Cheers, Si.

This is going to take a bit of explaining so here goes; Got my 32/32 weber on the car and the adapter plate has a hole through it that is a long oval but the manifold that it connects to has two small circular holes. So the air from the carby goes through the adapter then hits the inlet manifold where it has to go through 2 holes and hits a bridge of metal in the middle. Now my mechanic has suggested I take to the inleft manifold with a file/hacksaw or something similar and turn the 2 holes into one oval as per the adapter plate. This is supposed to decrease the air flow restriction and give me more power essentially for free! Sounds good to me. Does this make sense t…

No I'm not asking if turboing my 4k is a gd idea haha. I Have taz_rxs old setup just wondering if someone can help me with the ct12 turbo. Does anyone know where the pipe with the arrow is suppose to go to? and there also is two pipes under the turbo a thin one and a fat one what are they suppsoe to go to? or if anyone has like a paint drawing or just some pics if someone has same setup showing where the pipes go cheers. i have asked taz_rx but seeing if i get a quiker answer here cos can't drive car until i get it done and just double checking where to put pipes in case i put it in wrong place. thanks. :yes:

Hi all, I currently have a 3K in my KE10, but have a 5K on the way. Can I use the 3K rocker cover on the 5K?? I want to do this because the 3K rocker cover has the old Toyota symbol on it, where as the 5K is blank. Hey guys, i've got a stock KE30 (3K-C) and i'll be changing the engine over to a 4K soon. When i've got the engine bay clear i want to take out the old rusted brake master cylinder and replace it with a different/stronger one. Is there a brake mc that's cheap/reliable/stronger and easy to fit? How would i go about it? Do i need a kit? What about the actual rotors as well? Is it easy/legal to change the brake rotors to larger ones? Can someone help me out? Keep in mind that i'm not a pro, i'm only learning as i go... :yes: Cheers - Josh.

I psoted this in car electrical but thought i would post here cos need a response quick haha Well ive just added my turbo to my 4k and now when i turn the key on the ignition it turns over for a few clicks but sounds flat but the battery is charged and i have also tried jumpstarting it and it still wont click over properly :y: Does anyone know what the problem could be? help would be appreciated because car wont start

hey guys I'm building a 1ggte ke70 and its obvious the stock diff will not handle the power I'm just gonna save my self the hassle now and get onto the diff, i have been looking around a bit and r31 sound like it could be a goer i don't want to break the bank i just want something thats pretty easy to convert over to.
