Greetings, I've been meaning to try & compile a thread about my other-half... I mean my car build (takes all my time & money, may as well be :P ) for a while now so here goes. It all started out back in 2006 when I became the (not-so) proud owner of an AE80 Hatch which was affectionately named Blue Thing after I discovered the 2-AC engine & 4 speed manual box not really good for much other than getting from A-B rather slowly unless pushed hard. I did however gain much driving practice after being a pizza delivery guy for a few years & found I had a liking for the handling characteristics of these little hatches, just needed a bit more poke. …

Hey Rolla fans. recently decided to get a ke70 wagon. love the way they look but wasnt too keen on the small 4k engine. was thinking about putting a 4age motor with a k50 gearbox etc in. i've seen a lot on this site going around and just wondering is it a legal conversion? or one that is really hard for police to pick up on? I'm from S.A. Would really like if someone could give me some help. cheers, claudio

hi guys , i was at work today out in the middle of no-where the other day and caught a glimpse of what i thought to be a old junka , so i went and seen the owner a old guy (about 90 in the shade)who said it was a ms55 crown he bought new and has now stopped drive due to illness. once i cleared the 5 foot grass from around in and wiped the mold of the window ...about 1/4'' thick lol got the doors open and it is overrated original as the day it was built plastic protective covers everywhere even on the seats no crack dash no rips or tears , i thought it was to good to be true i asked if he still had the keys ..he did also original toyota keys like the factory jack, tool ba…

Hey folks, I thought it was about time I put up my new aquisition. I started out with a 1975 KE30 that I intended to take out for the odd khanacross and maybe even rally one day, but it needed a lot of work and I couldn't quite bring myself to being comfortable with bending it. I figured it was probably going to be a little harder to find decent panels when I needed them, so I sold that and picked up something newer. And here she is, a 1984 KE70. It had already been built and taken to khana's a few years ago, but the previous owner has moved into drifting (in his 300kw ATW Soarer!). I'll stick with something cheaper to start. It has a stripped interior, auto …

Hi Guys And Gals I'm Andy (NewAgeDinosaur) Just thought i would post some pics of my Ke30 CA project and the Ke55 mock up car. The red Ke30 is solid as a rock i could only find one bit of rust in it the size of a 5 cent piece. Has a 4k and 5 speed in it and really it just needs a good clean up new front carpet and 2 new tyres then rego it. Someone gave it to me for helping him get his ke55 to start. Once i have mocked up all the CA setup in the old rusty ke55 will transfer it to the Ke30. Am going Ca18DE to start with while rebuilding the CA18DET. Oh and my 2 dogs love cars and cameras. Work so far mount engine and modded the pedal box and pedal to make the hydra…

Hey guys, my name's Alec, i've been around here for a while wheeling and dealing but i thought i'd make a thread for my beloved KE70 "Kaye" Long story short: It was early 2008 and i was residing in North Queensland as a uni student and had no car to get around in. I spotted on the side of the road one day a baby blue KE70, I'd always been a huge AE86 fan and the keto caught my eye. So I called up the number and the guy came out to show me the car. The asking price was $2600. It was a 4 speed CS KE70 with some fairly decent rust but it ran. I ended up haggling the guy down to $1000, cash in hand and drove her home. Unfortunately i didn't take too many pictures in…

Hey fellas/ladies new to this site, I'm from Just Commodores. Quick run down. I brought this car, from a guy that worked at Wheel Worx. 225,XXX on the clock, after 4 months of sitting there, it started first turn. So the engine is in quite decent nick. Clutch is still healthy, chrome is still shiny and straight. Has a little bit of rust, nothing that some bog and primer wont fix ;) Ive now had this car for almost 6 months, with not a single problem.. Except for a bad earth strap :P But the time has come, for this little beast, to get a make over, and a new heart. Mostly done by myself of coarse :) Comments, ideas, anything is appreciated :) Mode…

hi guys a lot of you would already know my car or remember it from my conversion thread, but i thought i better do a real rides thread ive got a whats started out as a beaten up old ke55, which i thought was awesome at the time, which had a stolen 3t-c with extractors and 32/36 weber on it it went OK but the t50 was farked and the whole stolen thing put a gigantic spanner in the works, so a mate of mine was doing a ca18det convo on his de powered s13, and i bought everything he didnt need any more for the massive sum on $300 so the stolen motor and shitty box came out to make way for the ca18de (also painted the bay green, i was going to paint th…

Me and my mate bought a AE92 with 4agze from Canberra. We touched up the paint Took the interior out bolted in some coil overs Went for some new rotors and took it to Wakefield 2 weeks later. Next we had a cage built and welded in bought a new cobra seat and a sports steering wheel Put on a full set of mags and took it Winton This is how it looks bogged at Winton (my son not used to no ABS) Still a few more things to tidy up on it but its coming along well and it sits at home next to our AE82.

howdy folks, this may not be everyones glass of beer with the plans to come but i'm pretty chuffed that i finally have another one and after scouring the car sales and places like that for some time now i actually found this one sitting in a backyard around the corner and about 1km down the road. have seen it sit there for nearly 2 years now not doing a thing so i thought i'd knock on the door and hit em up for it, an hour later it was sitting in my backyard begging to be loved. but anyway, enough of the fairytale stories. it's a 1980 Toyota Corolla, little neglected as most of them are but reasonably straight, some rust in the usual places, the kids of the lady i bou…

Thought id put my project rolla up. 75 2 Door sedan ke30. Scored cheap rescued from a back yard. Has 5k extractors. I have a ca18det engine complete with loom etc from Adelaide jap, which seems to be taking forever to get to me, currently in quarantine . Plans are Monza red paint fresh suspension, stumpy 5 speed. Also I have a very early hilux diff. Well I have stripped the car out and started with painting one panel at a time. First time painting. This project has swallowed some coin already if I count cost of compressor, hvlp guns paint clear hoses etc plus 1600 for the donk.

Well guys, I've been hanging to start this thread the moment I seen this car. I knew it was mean to be! It is a 1 OWNER, that's right 1 OWNER KE55 Coupe. It was clearly well looked after, probably the MOST original KE55 coupe in all of VICTORIA! The interior is honest to god, like NEW, I shit you not! It has never been smoked in, it has the original carpet and original seat covers. It even has the original radio and cassette player in working condition! There is 1 crack in the dash, 1 tiny rip in the back seat. The exterior has rust in most arches, some terrible others easily repairable, I'm taking it to a panel beater tomorrow morning so he can look it over. This car…

Hey guys, thought I'd post my rolla up here for some feedback and to get to now a few members. Well I swapped my r31 skyline for 2 ke70's and a ca18det package. 1 rolla had rego and the other was defected to regency( which the previous owner thought he would tell me it was defected after the trade). The one with rego has a 4k which the previous owner reckons it had a port and polish, 20 though shaven of the head and a few other things. Had the usual spark plug o'ring oil leak and sump leak. It also had a welded diff, pedders rear springs, Monroe gas shockers, 5 speed box, front supra struts and a good headunit. The defected rolla had a dismantled 4k, new carpet a…

Ok I have to confess - I am hopelessly addicted to Corollas. I sold my KE20 on Friday and within 24 hours I had found this thing on the net. I told the lady on the phone if it is anywhere near as good as it sounds I'm taking it straight away. And the rest is history....... Some specs 2 Owner KE70 with original purchase receipt and books Lemon Yellow (as named by the previous owner who was a young girl) Auto - for uber acceleration :fuzz: 4K - again to aid with rapid acceleration  CS Model - absolutely no frills in this one baby yeah :laff: :laff: :laff: The clincher - 128,000 original K's. I've been driving it to and from work the last…

So after my fail attempt at building a datto 180B only cause parts are harder to find than a 16year old virgin, I decided to buy my self a little rolla. Before buying did some research and fell inlove with the Ke70 model, watched a couple of vids on the YOUTUBE an seen Grant sliding his and that was that! Even tho I'm not a big drift nut, I still appreciate it and see it as more an art then anything else and a loooove the styling, I'm personally more into the time attack/ A-B racing tho. So less chit chat and lets see some pics! This is when I purchased it for a wooooping $500, probally paid $499.99 to much but I couldnt be bothered! Body was pretty rough…

Hi guys, my names nick and this is my KE55 sedan. Picked it up a few moths ago from a elderly lady. Engine has no leaks and is very solid, 4 speed is very tight along with the diff. The body has a few spots of rust which I'm reparing now. Plans for it is to repair the rust, re-spray in original colour, lower it, sports exhaust new lights etc, just to make it a tidy cruiser. Only bought it to replace my ss ute from daily duties, spent to much money on it and now it only see's weekend cruises lol. Will keep you posted as it comes together. And I'm chasing parts, tail lights, number plate lights, gutter trims. Let me no what else you have to, might have overlooked a few…

I was wondering if anyone knows of such thing as flares to suit a ke30. I have been seaching on the internet, but can not find any thing anywhere on them. If there is no such thing, there are other flares such as the datsun 1200. which loook quite good. but I'm not too sure how much modifications are needed to get them to fit my corolla. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. These are pics of the datsun 1200 flares I'm looking at on ebay.
