  1. Started by Rolln16,

The short version…… Well it all started when the tailgater that had been following us just about all over town pushed Rolln03 just that little bit too hard… One screaming 4k and a lesson to the tailgater taught (smokescreen…well almost) we were left with fried piston rings and a blown head gasket. One week later and after many calls made by Rolln03 a 5k was found at the Maryborough wreckers… the engine cost was $250 and it came with a 5spd gearbox…too good to pass up. As soon as Rolln03 told me about it I started scheming :hmm: with his mates and about three days later a phone call and the co-operation :( of the of the wreckers team – I was now the …

You've all seen it before in the other thread but I thought I would post it here so I could update it as the car progresses. For those who don't know, this car was bought for $250 off ebay. It started life as a lowly KE70 S trim povo pack. It was powered by a completly standard 4K in front of a 3 speed auto. Not very exciting at all. Here are some pics of when I bought it. It wasnt long (about 10 days) before I got bored of driving around with an ashmatic 4K and a slipping automatic transmission barely keeping up with traffic and getting bored to tears with not owning a manual car anymore. It was time to pull the running gear which used to reside in…

Hey guys, I think I posted on this site before, but for some reason I can't seem to dig the old post up to put some more recent photos, nothing much has changed. Anyways here are some recent pictures. Some things I would like to do: The bump strip needs some attention, I either want to take it off all together or move it down along the door line. Because at the moment it is looking really tacky. The motor needs new valve stem seals I think, blows some blue smoke on startup and around town sometimes. The front metal bumper bar has a little dint if a keen eye can spot it out. Apart from that I'm keeping it original. Hope you like the pics. …

Hey guys, well i have been trawling these forums for a long time as they provide a valuable source of info about corolla's , I brought this car in May this year for $500 off a 60yr old lady who had owned it for the last 15yrs, it had the pink slip done (dodgey will get to it later) all it needed was a renewal and insurance cost me $800 all up. So i drove it around for a while (still on L's) and then one day i decided i'd take the wheels off it and clean them, while they were off i thought i'd check the disc pads and shoes. And what a fright i got, it was metal on metal on the front and there was 1mm of shoe left on the rears, and they passed it? dodgy bastards…

DIN), 5speed T50 modified closeratio dogbox, dana30 rear end with 5.38 ratio and lsd, bilstain front shocks and proflex at rear. I had opportunity to participate in one competition event at tarmac. And loved the car so much, that when the previous owner decided to move complete technics in AE86 body, i was forced to buy the rest of it :jamie: In couple weeks i'm going to get the body home. At engine partment i'm going to stay in 4A-G, but going to 20v setup. This is what it use to look driven by me.

I bought the ke30 2dr in September 2004 transported it on a trailer to my garage and left it. It sat untouched until in May this year I finally got my lazy ass out to the garage and started having a look at what I could do. It needed a whole new interior but I figured an engine refresh was the first thing to do so that at least I could drive it around while I slowly fixed the interior. So I stripped it down to the block, had the cam reground, obtained a 3k head as it had a 4k head on it :D as has been documented elsewhere on this site. Meticulously cleaned the head and reseated the valves, obtained a inlet manifold due to the existing one being cracked, cleaned …

Hey, I've started accumulating the bits and pieces for my turbo 5K. The plan is to use my 5K block, bore it out 0.5 - 1.5mm. Use some 78 internal, 81 - 82 exteranl, cast steel sleeves in the bores. I scored 4 rb20det pistons with 80k on em for 20 bucks! So that should work nice with some brass inserts to connects the rods. The pistons are 3.2 mm shorter than a 5K unit so I'm gonna deck the block 1mm and shave the head 1mm too, and use a 1mm copper head gasket with a double O-ring. I'll reconfigure the head a bit too. It should be about 1.4 L and 7.5 - 7.8 : 1 compression ratio after that. I plan not to rev it too hard so I'm gonna stick with standard 5K rods…

AW11 MR2 its an 86 n/a version thats had an ae92 bigport (9.4:1) engine fitted with aw11 s/c gear. still runs the stock box which has closer ratios than the s/c box so with the extra power from the compression and the closer ratios, this thing leaves stock superchargers for dead :) am awaiting TRD shocks from japan, then there will be TRD springs. also water to air intercooler and a l/h vent for pod filter intake. the sound deadnign has been removed and with the loud exhaust, i keep imagining I'm in a group B car :)
