Ok guy here's the story I've got a 4AGE bigport in my KE70, it has had the engine in there running 1.5 years ago then we pulled it out. Have recently got it back in and running. When we first started it there were some issues starting, got it sorted turns out the coil was not happy and we changed it and it was running great for about an hour... We jacked up the back end to put the new tailshaft in and wire the thermo fan back in and now it doesn't want to run.. We unplugged the MAP and it started and ran, rough but it ran, would not rev over 4500 rpm. Hello all, I've been meaning to join this site for a few months now but havnt, now i have and I'm glad :) , Anywho, I'm thinking about buying a 76 KE36, awesome car may i add lol The problem is, RUST (shock horror), its all around the guttering of the roof, I was just wondering, how much would it cost to replace the whole roof down the track, How much with a panelbeater and how much as a home job if i can find someone? The car is only 600 and id be mad not to, August rego. And its the original owner (old bloke) whos had it serviced on time every time. So, i'd appreciate it greatly if you could give me some advice :blush: CHEERS :)

Hi everyone just got my new ke70 a week ago and already been defected. Not in the best condition but i have intentions of doing it up eventually. I got defected for body rust (typical kesev places), oil leak in the engine which seems to be coming from the fuel pump, and bald tyres. Not having any trouble with fixing it but is there any other precautions i should take before trying to take it through regency? The car has been converted to manual and as far as i know it hasn't been sighted by anyone (not sure if it needs to be engineered) so will this be a problem? Thanks.

Hay guys I'm looking into getting my ke30 4 stud to get converted to a commodore 5 stud whats the deal with spacers if i wanted to convert it would it be able just to use spacers and where would i get them and ive tried the search feature because I'm sure this has been covered before but it doesnt seem to work. and i was thinking about going the 7afe way and ive seen pictures of a silvertop head on one is it possible? what do you have to do to fit velocity stacks do they bolt right on and run? or do u need aftermarket computer and tune? cheers

Hey had to get home from a mates, went to turn on car, hear something knocking on my fan, hmmm what may that be? Oh its my AIR FILTER? so its liek ok i don't haev bolts for it, drive home almost make it home and now car doesnt work at all, may have a little splutter of life but thats it, revs die no matter how much throttle Does the carby need a clean out with some carby cleaner? I didnt think driving 20mins would effect it this much......... Night guys

Hi everyone. I have my ke70 pano with a 4age in it and it has been working fine for weeks, only now have I realised when I sit it on a hill petrol leaks out. I havn't hooked a carbon cannister to the engine for a few different reasons, the main one being I don't know properly how to hook it up so I couldn't be bothered. So I have the fuel lines that come up to the engine bay on the left side, one is hooked into up near the inlet manifold and the other, goes no where. I never hooked it up and have only just realised fuel leaks from it when I'm parked down a hill. It obviously comes direct from the fuel tank and I would assume the carbon cannister outlet goes …

Hey, after ages i finally got around to putting a motor back into my ke55. Now the motor ran fine in the car it was from but in my car it doesnt want to start. It turns over but just backfires out of the carb and doesnt seem to wanna start. I was thinking either vac lines are wrong (but looked at old pics of my motor and they seem the same) or something timing related. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers, Jason

Stripping the interior today, and i have no idea how the rear seat comes out. i have the bottom half off. but can't work out the back piece. I looked through the boot to were i thought a bolt or clip went through but couldn't see anything.. Do they slide up ? i want to check before i pressure it so i don't break it. Ideas?

Can any one tell me where to get some extractors for ke55 with 4age ?I ve heard that ae86 ones fit ,can any one confirm?? Or maybe i have to go custom build.Not sure where to go ,i was quoted through exhaust shop for customs 650+ :D . I also checked all his listings and there where no ae86 4age extractors at all. The only ones that he can still get are for ae82 ,4age. Someone must make them :D . thanks in advance rob

hi i know its not a toyota question but no one has been able to help me on other forums and need to know has anyone ever put a magna v6 into a triton what do i need to do to fit it in my triton? the triton is a 2002 mk triton 2wd with the astron 2400 motor and 5spd manual the magna is a late model 1997 V6 with 90,000kms on the clock the v6 comes with the wiring harness computer and everything else basically a complete magna minus body for $450 and just wondering can i use my gearbox and what other things will i need to fit the v6 into my triton or is it not do able because of the age difference of the vehicles thanks for any help

Hay I’m trying to work out where to find new plastic bushes for the linkage shaft on a Weber manifold. I don’t know what brand the manifold is but was told it came from America. I looked through a Redline parts catalogue but couldn’t find anything. Hope I don’t have to get new ones made from scratch (machined). So does anyone know where I might be able to get these darn things? Help appreciated.

Hey guys I'm running the ke20 and from what i can gather the wheels are 4x110 am i correct in saying this? if so are you able to fit 4x113.5 stud pattern? I'm new to all this wheel fitting stuff. i just want to get some sweet rims for the ke20 :) and I'm thinking 15's or 16's please let me know your thoughts, whether pro or con

I was starting a big cleanup of the many photos scattered around my computer and found this... Now, when the next person strips a gearbox or does a clutch, please take lots of photos (on a real camera, not a blasted useless phone!!) and put up some "How-to" topics... How-to replace the input shaft bearing, How-to change a clutch, How-to replace synchros... If we build up a library of these it will stop a lot of new guys having to ask the whole deal every time. After a few years we should be better than Toyotas workshop manuals! This is Taz's 0.1% !! :yes: Sorry man- I did laugh when I saw it.

hey, would anyone know why my auto choke would be making the car rev right up(like 5k+ revs) when its cold. If i hold the little arms/leaver(circle in picture) down to keep the butterfly open it seems to rev alright..... if i don't hold the leaver down the butterfly closes and the car wants to rev out till its warm. i had the carby off the car a while ago while i was doing some work to the motor. not sure if all the hoses are in the correct spots. Howdy guys, just wondering how to diagnose an exaust manifold air leak. I now own a mkII supra with a 5m. While driving along and putting the car under load at low rpm; say sitting at 1700 in 4th and putting the throttle flat or when the car just turns on. I can hear a prominent almost popping noise, seeming to come from the side of the engine which has the extractors (4-1). Is this a noise which i shouldnt worry about? Would i be able to get soapy water and lather up the extractors with it and figure it out? Thanks for any help ^_^

Hey I pulled my engine down due to blowing smoke. As I though time for new rings. But I went to get a set of rings and I found out that ACL have sold up and have moved over seas. I can't find any. So I was told it might be easier to get a new set of ring and pistons. I currently run 20' over so maybe time for a set of 40'. Any help with finding some would be great. B Rad

has anyone here removed a radiator support from a ke55 hardtop before? or even a ke30/55? is it bolted in or welded? i require replacement of mine somewhere down the track :/ thanks guys

Looking for something to break up the colour on my ke55 coupe, so does anyone know if Toyota had any racing stripes, particularly corollas?

I just brought an auto 18rc powered ra40, and it has a wicked miss fire on idle but it clears up after about 1500rpm, it's something to do with cylinder 3 because when you pull the lead off number 3 nothing changes. But theres a nice blue spark, it has brand a new looking dizzy cap, I've tried different leads and a different spark plug... but the miss fire is still there. What on earth is going on? Hey guys, Alec here. I've pulled my 4k out and i'm rebuilding currently and i can't for the life of me remember which way this seal goes in. I can't remember what its called, my workshop manual is downstairs. But its the seal that goes into the circular mount (don't worry there are pics haha) that slips over the crankshaft on the back of the engine. ok. These are the parts, the circular mount and the seal. Now the seal has two sides, one with a recess and the other side is flat. This is the recessed side Now finally here's my question haha. It goes in this way right? with the recessed side down. I understand that it needs to be oiled …

Hi guys. Been very long time since I've been on here. Serious rust in the rolla made me loose interest But I finally found it again. But to fix/hide the rust damage I'm fitting flares What I need is to increase the track width in the front to fill the flares I'm thinking I need around 40mm a side ( but won't know for sure until I get the flares) I currently have xt130 struts and steering arms And was thinking of running some sigma or Cressida lca's but will need to do something about the massive neg camber Does anyone have any ideas? Don't really won't to go any bigger in offset Thanks paul
