So far the rears have been easy as but I'm having trouble figuring out on how the fronts go. how do I remove the current spring from the strut itself? I noticed on the strut top under a rubber cap a bolt obviously needs to be undone? (the one thats packed with grease) help! Jon

gday guys, ive been on here a while thought i would sign up, cuase from what i read you guys know your stuff!! basically ive got a ke70, 4kc engine, with a 3kc carby on it, and it will not idle and splutters at low revs the reason i put the 3kc carby on there is that i was told it was the same as a 4kc one except it had no emissions stuff. i hooked up all the vac lines exact same as they were on the 3kc that i got the carby from (all 3 of them....) basically the engine runs fine if you got your foot on the accel (ie high revs), but as soon as you take it off it just dies, like you have just turned it off with the key... i have not been able to take it for a dr…

hi all, just a quick question. i've been searching through all of the different forums to try n find the answer but i was wondering if someone out there has put a fwd 4age into their ae71 or ke70, and when they got it into the car did the air intake manifold clear under the bonnet without being modded in another way than just the cut n shut to put the throttle body onto the front instead of the rear???????????

Hey, i was just on the rare spares website looking for new front and rear screen rubbers, and there appears to be two listings for each, with two separate part numbers. Is there two different shape ke25s or does anyone know the difference between these two sets of rubbers, there is also a price difference of about $2. thanks, any insight is appreciated.

I've been looking through the Noltec catalogue as I'm looking into purchasing some adjustable camber/castor strut tops for my KE55. I have also been getting quotes from various locations, and have established that AE86 strut tops can be bought cheaper. I was under the impression that AE86 items would fit, but the Noltec catalogue disagrees with me. According to Noltec, their N44025 strut top will fit the following models: COROLLA KE20,KE25,KE26,TE25 ‘70-78 COROLLA KE30,KE35,KE36,KE38,KE50,KE55 ‘75-81 COROLLA KE70,KE71,AE70,AE71 ‘81-85 Whereas the AE86 uses part number N44026. I thought that if the part fitted an AE86, it would also fit an AE71. What w…

  9. Hi, Well me and des attacked my car today an in 3 hourse we had my old 3K and 4 speed box out andthe new 4K and 5 speed in  But the gear box has no cross member on it and well the jack is currently holding it up. So problem is put crosmember in adn the gear box mount for rubber is about 2mm futher back if not more (will try for pic tomorrow). So How have other people done the swap in a KE30 toa K50 from a KE70? As by the looks even redrilling the gear box cross member to fit the K50 mount blocks it still wont fit int eh car as box mount futher back so help wanted? So if anyone has advice on mounting or pictures be apprecated. Thanks Cameron

hey, got a bit of a problem with the stoppers. symptoms: when she is off the brakes feel good, when i start it up and its running they turn shit! the peddel have a lot more travel. a few times the brake warning light flashed on and stayed on for a while, when i braked it would go out and then back on (i thought it was a low fluid light). checks: i have gave the fronts a bleed, but i do not think this is the problem, because they felt good before i bleed them and after, it impoved slightly. i also topped up the fluid and it wasnt low before. i cannot see any obvious leaks and i have checked the vaccum line while it was running again no problems that could see.…

Hi guys, Hoss from Sweden here. I'm having a bit of a concern. I'm the owner of a stock KE70-82 and I'm about to get some new wheels (stud pattern 4/114,3). The rims I been looking at have markings on the outside "5½ J*15 H2-E40" and the markings on the inside are "5" and "86". As far as I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong) the 5½ stands for the width, 15 stands for the diameter and E40 for the offset. The H2 I don't have clue to what it means... And it's the same with the 5 and the 86. I don't really know the size of the stock rims I have now, but the tires are 145/80/r13. According to my calculations the tires I need to get should have th…

  15. Hi, My name is Cliff and I am a 1998 Corolla owner (aka: Chevy Prizm) from Northwest Florida. My mechanic is making no headway and is getting ready to throw in the towel on my Corolla. The car stalls when headlights or AC is turned on – the car runs fine otherwise. For a few weeks prior to this, the headlights would never turn off if they were ever turned on initially via the headlight switch– I would have to pull a relay under the hood momentarily and plug it back in to extinguish the lights. During this period, the Daytime Running Lights became totally inoperative (meaning that they never came on, but had always worked previously). Immediately prior to this, …

I have a 1976 Corolla 2TC SR5 liftback. My dad was the original owner and it only has 75k on it, so it really means a lot to me to get this car running again. About a year ago, I came up to a stop and the car died. It wouldn't hold an idle. Anything below about 2500 rpms and it felt like it was out of time. Anything above and it ran perfect. I checked my idle screw and it was fine. then I checked and replaced all of the vacuum lines. It still didn't fix it. I couldn't really tryto check …

Temp goes back down when you go along the flat. Only started doing this 1yr ago. We have had the following done: radiator, hoses, thermostat, temp sensor, pressure test-hot and cold, added an extra fan on the front. Have had it to 2 diesel blokes without success. Use to get 400 to 450 ks now only get 350 ks. think thats about it. thanks debbie
