Been having fuel starvation issues with my ae71, which has a weber carb and aftermarket fuel pump. Would I be correct in assuming that it is better to have the fuel pump near the tank? Seems it doesnt suck very well as it is, damn dodgy job the previous owner did xD. It's a brand new pump, old one died due to running dry and rust particles, lol.

Has anyone tried adapting a T50 shift lever assembly to a K40/50? If it can be done it would open up more options such short shift kits and easy to locate spare bushings.

Hey Guys getting to the I'm running out of time period of a build coz my daughter is close to getting her licence. I am struggling with organising lowering springs for the front and was wondering has anyone used the Kings KFFL-15sl they are supposed to be a 50 mm drop which is what the boss wants the car to sit at. My dilemma is that the local auto shop guys say yep that is the part required but King Springs say that they don't make them any more. Looking on Ebay they are all over the place for sale however when you put the KE55 details into their fitment search the result is that they don't fit the car.The KFFL-15 are a match but the drop isn't enough only 30 mm and acco…

Ok guys I was gonna keep it all hush hush but meh..f@$k that OK the deal with my new motor is this: ported 3K-C head (shaved only to make sure the head is flat...not to raise compression too much) 4K-C block - acid bathed - possibly shotpeened 60thou overbore ACL pistons, rings, bearings Lightened crankshaft - shotpeened Lightened flywheel 5K con-rods Reground cam (430thou intake lift, 400thou exhaust, 100-100 separation) Possibly buying nicks 4-1 extractors and exhaust... The intake is what I'm excited about I'm getting a ford fairlane XD EFI manifold, Injectors, fuel rail and pump for next to nothing. Manifold will be a custom jobbie. …

If you're looking to buy a fire extinguisher (to compete or otherwise), check out KMart. They have 1kg Chubb fire extinguishers (CAMS approved with metal bracket etc) for $29.87. As a comparison my 1kg fire extinguishers from Autobarn were $40 each. Or, you can get one of them Supercheap ones, they're a bit cheaper but are 0.9kg and come with a fairly dodgy plastic bracket (I have one in Pinky at the moment). It doesn't seem to specify in the CAMS manual, but I've heard of people being knocked back by CAMS scrutineers before for having plastic brackets... Mind you, if I'm not mistaken Rob has been running plastic brackets for ages and hasn't really had any prob…

Right, here's the task at hand. Haikal's Wagz-O-Death had a fairly dodgy hatch. The Clever People at Toyota decided, in 1978, that it would be a good idea to use torsion bars to hold the hatch up (which in the present times, I think is a really stupid idea). So right, there were these tiny torsion bars in the roof, above the roof lining, held in by little plastic clips, to hold up this really heavy hatch. Over time (and it's been awhile since 1978!), the clips wore out, cracked and broke from the high stresses they were subjected to, and one of the torsion bars popped free. So we had the hatch sort of half held up by one torsion bar. Hardly enough. So come …

Finally got around to pulling the back plate off the back of my diff after breaking something in it two weeks ago. Got the cover off and discovered I've broken the spider gears. So we're going to see if we can weld it up until I can work out what LSD I want to use and will best suit my purposes (preferably one that will be possible to attach disc brakes to) and then wait until I've got the funds to afford it. Any tips of welding diffs?

I swear I have done this kind of thing before even though it doesn't seem like it. This car is kicking my a$$ everytime I get to the next level with it. The exhaust is done and all seems well with the quality. I go to start the car and I have no spark. It's got to be in the distributor/points/rotor/timing area I think. Here's what I have done: I have checked to see if there is a fuse that could be blown and cannot find one. There is 12v at the coil with the key on and 12v at the ignition lead going into the top of the distributor. I have checked and the timing appears to be right. I cannot find any wires that are cooked/loose. Again, this is a 3k…

Hi, Well me and des attacked my car today an in 3 hourse we had my old 3K and 4 speed box out andthe new 4K and 5 speed in  But the gear box has no cross member on it and well the jack is currently holding it up. So problem is put crosmember in adn the gear box mount for rubber is about 2mm futher back if not more (will try for pic tomorrow). So How have other people done the swap in a KE30 toa K50 from a KE70? As by the looks even redrilling the gear box cross member to fit the K50 mount blocks it still wont fit int eh car as box mount futher back so help wanted? So if anyone has advice on mounting or pictures be apprecated. Thanks Cameron

Hi guys, Looking for your expert advice/help. I have recently installed a Blue top into my honda s600 for hillclimb work. The engine itself is producing 68kw ATW with peak power at 6250RPM. I am happy with the power ( std ECU) but with my gearing a few more revs would help out ( mid corners). The engine runs out of Revs at 6700RPM (seems a little low). I am not running any O2 sensor - Would this cause the problem? I have a surge tank and am running 2* EFI pumps (external). As mentioned it is std ECU. I am running 5/16 fuel line to engine and 1/4 back to the fuel tank. Home made extractors ( limited space) are 4-1. Your help is much appreciated.

I've got a 13T that I'm going to be putting a 2T-GEU head on. I now have a 2T-GEU EFI setup on it's way to me, and I'm looking at the option of supercharging this setup with an SC12 from a 4A-GZE. Now I know that a 2T-GEU had already been done with this setup, with the standard 2T-GEU computer remapped to suit boost. HOWEVER, I've also read that when creating your own 2T-G EFI setup, 4A-GE ECU's can be used as a cheaper, more accessible option as both engines operate within a similar rev range. What I'm wondering is: would I be better off using the 2T-GEU ECU remapped, or could I use a 4A-GZE ECU which is already setup to recognize boost?

Like the title says, it only happens at around 60km/hr then dissappears. It is probably the worst vibration I have ever seen. I put a different set of wheels off my ke10 on and that had no effect (they wheels off the ke10 may not be balanced) I guess i really should spend some money and get the wheels balanced first. But say its not the wheels, where do I start? Is there a common problem that will save me hours of time (& money) wasting? (probably not because search turned up nothing) I was planning on replacing the hub bearings and checking the callipers. I have had a good look under the car and can't see or feel anything loose in the steering. The fact that …

Buying a ke70/ae71 for a daily for a little while with plan's of a 20v conversion down the track. I know the ke need's the ae x-members, clutch etc for the swap. what other little difference's will there be suspension wise diff wise etc? when I go to nicer struts, brakes, steering and whatnot does one have better setup brakets or stuff that needs to be fabbed down the track that will catch me out? any years better than another for this regard? Hi, Been researching TRD K motor parts lately and was curious to see if any one had info or more pictures. Now the pic below is of the TRD dry sump kit for the K motor: Now as you can see the new TRD oil filter mount has a red fitting in the side that is rather large. I dare say this is oil in as another red fitting is in the sump its self which is prob oil to the tank or pump inlet. Now the red fitting in the new oil pick filter housing if this is oil in Id say TRD blocked the oil in hole in the block so oil will be pumped in then go into filter then around motor. Now question is.... In the K motor when the oil pump is removed would of TRD just …

Hey all, in the process of (well trying to...) change shocks and springs in my KE70 front struts. Both struts are out of the car but I'm damned if I can even start to dismantle them. I can't crack the top nut under the dust cap. Trying to do so just turns the shock absorber. Is there a trick to stop the shock turning or is it more a case of using a rattle gun or some such? I'm sure the whole process is fairly simple I've just never done it before and gregory's is of very little help. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Got the 5K driving finally. Driven a few times with no filters (they're coming...). The exhaust note is wicked, nothing too intrusive, but the bloody induction noise is really quite staggering (Twin DHLA 40's). I don't expect it to change too much, but has anyone noticed whether Ramflo's/Unifilters make much reduction in intake noise? It still needs a bit of tuning here and there which might alter it. What have other people done to quieten there twins down? I'm thinking of making up an Airbox for it with a pod. Let me know. TP

Hey guys I'm needing some help figuring out what this mount thingo is, i dunno if its just for the stabiliser bars on either side or whatever. basically i need to know as i need to ditch mine on my ke26 and get some better condition ones as when the dude that owned the car before me made up the engine mounts for the rotary he welded the absolute shit out of those 2 mounts and blew holes n warped em etc n my panel beater can't fix them n would b easier to start fresh, since i need to have my engine mounts relocated anyway. heres what I'm talking about as I'm not great at explaining myself. also if anyone would know where i could track them down, if anyone knows of any ke…

I'm after some opinions on a setup I'm thinking of running and what you all think, i.e performance whether something isnt suitable and whether I should think of additional changes. Currently i have a stock 5k in front of a 4 speed and this is my plan. Use will be a bit of a weekend fun car, not a cruiser or anything. Bit of fun action in the dandenongs on the weekend! Engine Tighe 104 or similar 32/36 Weber rejetted to suit other mods. Get some extractors at some point after this also Driveline Getting the flywheel lightened with a HD clutch k50 behind this just for the overdrive So if anyone has suggestions of anything else i should do or not do that…
