Hello guys, sorry for the noob question. Ain't a car expert here. i Juz got a AE93 7AFE corolla which has a shaky rear view mirror. i believe its screwed on to the top. Anyone knows of any parts similar to the original at maybe supercheap auto ? if possible i want to seek for the exact replacement not those paste on the windscreen types. Also can this take the "powered" side mirror mods?

Can anyone help me with locating the regulator on my ae92 ("4wd" wagon) sorry if this is a stupid post but I'm unsure where the regulator is and want to find it to see if the brushes are making contact properly as my batter light is on constantly and idles low and lights dim. Have replaced the battery with a new Toyota approved one and still the same problem and I'd prefer to check the regulator first before replacing the alternator. Sorry again if I've posted this in the place

hey guys, I'm getting further into a 4agze convention for my little 4wd wagon, and i really need some suspension advice. so getting down to it back when i put the thing back on the road i replaced most of the bushes and the rear shockers, i put kyb gas shocks in the back but i never touched the front end. as far as i can tell it has the original struts which would be close to 22 years old now. i want to replace the front struts as they are well ant truly dead, would new standard struts work well? or should i be looking into harder springs to stiffen the front end as it bottoms out alot. I'm not sure if standard ae series struts will work as of the extra added…

Does anyone know anything about this? Cost, description, features etc? I remember waaay back a long time ago in Malaysia my uncle's Datsun 120Y had a little box under the dash for aircond, it had a fan and everything built in, very neat and just had 2 switches and a knob on it. Worked reasonably well too, I'm not sure how much plumbing etc it had. Also, do they have a heater function too? Or do they only work as an aircond?

Hey folks, hope everyone’s safe. I don't know if this topic has been opened yet, but I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my car's wheel spacers. I installed a new set of Brembo calipers and HRE rims, but they are scratching the rims because they are too big. I already had them installed and didn't want to spend money on another set of calipers and wheels. So I searched on Google for a solution and finally decided to install a set of spacers. The effect is very nice. Not only did it solve the scratching problem, but my wheels were flush with the fenders. The whole car looks fuller and is very stable while driving. Now I'm cruis…

Hi, Just going through a KE70 pollution manual I have and it talks about a air injection (AI) system. These push cool air into your exhaust under pressure and helps promote the oxidization of CO and HC in the exhaust. So I was wondering if anyone has one of these they can take photos off or if in the ipswich area has one for give away? As I am interested for a possible power increasing project not a decreasing one like most pollution gear is..lol Cameron P.S. it was on the 3T-C, 1X corona motor, or the celica 21R-C motor and the 5M-E crown motor.

hey what does everyone think of my airfiler job? i have seen it done before but stil its cool! one tiny problem.... i think the car now runs at a higher temp, cus its sucking in warm engine bay air, not like the cold shit from the wheel wells.. anyway to over come this? bonnet scoop? seems to heat up more when sitting staionary.. also makes a sick noise now. not like an induction noise, but like carby noise.. low barrrrmmmmmm noise!! so stoked.. hehe here she is Air Filter what u think? yo!

Howdy been looking around and can't find an answer to my question.. basically just put a new radiator in my ke70 (bog stock 4k), not blocked or anything like that.. started her up and all fine no leaks etc. turned car off and opened the radiator cap after being running for about 20 seconds and there was a huge amount of air which came out when the cap came off. sort of like opening a soft drink if u cud imagine.. anyway thats the first thing.. didnt think much of it so started her up again and opened the oil cap to top up oil and there was air pumping out continuiously. havnt come across this before, so bad that i cudnt top up oil with it running without wearing it.. no…

Hello Folks, I hope you will bear with me a bit. Newbie here. I am struggling with problems with an Aisin 2 barrel carb on 4K-C engine. Truth be told....on an 81 Starlet, not a Rolla....but hope someone here might lend a hand. Found out about this forum over at Toyotanation. Just finished rebuilding this little gem. Have about 1000 miles on it and it was running like a top, although I did notice it would start immediately with manual choke, then would hit fast idle as choke pushed off. However, it would then go through this strange phase of even higher RPMs for a bit, then automatically decrease RPMs to hit steady slow idle. Good power going down the road and great mi…

alright. this is anoying the hell out of me. every one is saying that the ajps springs i want to get are going to be "too low" and that it will be illegal... the height will be, fronts 200mm and rears are 230mm I'm aware i will need short shocks other wise it would be like haveing no suspention "apparently" :angrybird: so my question is. if i put those springs in will it be illegal in QLD. the back will look like the attatched picture.. all you guys have helped me out heaps in the past so right now would be awesome. So tax return its in lol.... Seriously looking into converting to ae86 struts in the 55. I actually have a hsd kit in the shed for 55 struts but the old issue of shock choice is one problem, then brake upgrades is the other. I love the look of the new 'big daddy' t3 Wilwood kit (now has vented rotors for anybody who hasn't looked in a while). So thinking 86 is probably the way to go. The 2 kits I'd like opinions/experience on is the pre-fab ajps and t3 kits. For the sake of an accurate comparison both are available with kyb agx shocks, so I'll work with those prices. Ajps are $1390, plus I don't have exchange struts so I'm up for another $245. then again for the sak…

Hey, I've been looking at different stock toyota upgrades, and came across the 17mm tercel rear swaybar upgrade. This got me wondering, does the tercel have a borgy like E7s? Searching on tercel4wd/google, i found hints that the tercel has a T series diff, so I was interested to know if this is a viable upgrade option, like the T18 diff. Any help much appreciated, cheers, -Phil

here lyes the question? i have been told that i need to run the socks plus the trumpets (being a tuned length) on the webers, then i was told to piss them off and put the K & N filters (the ones that arnt cheap) on with the trumpets inside. my thought is to make an alloy air box up to bolt on the webers. thats the easy bit, my next thought is where is the inlet going to be? my first thought was put it straight out the front of the box and near a fresh air opening next to the radiator , but then the distance that the air has to travel is different to each carby. second thought is to put the inlet in the middle on the underside of the box and turn it 90 deg …

Hey guys, I know its not a toyota, but i thought i would throw this up over here, as some of the most useful info i have received over the over the years has been from here. Over the past week or so ive noticed some smoke coming from under my ute when i pull up, finally got the time to pop the bonnet and have a look today, to find it pouring out of the vent on the other side of my oil catch can. To eliminate variables i pulled the hose off from the PCV and its doing the exact same thing. Its a continual stream, no pulsations, of white smoke, which doesnt really get damp when you hold your hand in front of it, ive got a little video here of what it is doing, exhaust s…

Hello again. My 80 TE72 is being set-up for full road-racing. Unfortunately, where I live (Los Angeles), there is not much info about setting these cars up for the track. Are there folks out there who race these cars that can give me some assistance as to spring rates, damper setups, sway bars, camber, etc. for my car? It is only going to make about 130hp at the crank and weigh about 2300lbs. I have to use all of the stock mounting positions for the suspension components as well as the stock brakes (but pad and shoe material are free). Please let me know if you have some advice. Thanks again! Ryan

okay.. now my alternator doesn't charge the battery I was using the 4k alternator on my 2T engine because I didn't bother soldering new cables when I swapped the engine a few days ago the charge light started to light.. I drove a bit and the engine died, flat battery.. then recharged the battery and drove home now I have changed to a 2T alternator I know worked a half year ago, with a multimeter the + at the B pole( when the cable is disconnected ) and - at the battery when the engine runs it charge only 0.4v.. that isn't enough for me :\ what can be wrong? is really both alternators defect? sound strange to me.. but okay.. earth.. is trough the engine? can be a ba…

Hay guys I'm a little confused about something! iv got a problem with my 4k it seemed to b running on 3 cylenders any way i checked to comp an cylinders 2,3,4 had 180psi but cylinder 1 only 40psi. So i took the head off thinking it was the gasket cause i also had white crap under my oil cap an stuff. anyway took the head down to my mate to get it shaved to put in back on and he reconds the head and the gasket looked good so he turned th ehead upside down and filled it up with fuel an the valves didnt leak so we filled the cylinders up with fuel to check the rings an cylinder 4 leaked out in about 10 mins and the rest were ok!! so what I'm trying to say is if the rings…

So, while I was over at peteys the other day I was f@$king around with this CT12 he's had sitting in his garage for months and it got me thinking... Now your probably thinking right now, "Oh no hes going to bolt it onto his 4AGE" right? But that would be the rational thing to do now wouldn't it? Have I ever been known to think rationally? I propose...... The 4A-CT. Yes, you heard right. Now i can source the main parts like the turbo, IC for cheap. (read nothing) but things like blow-throuh carby, manifold, water/oil lines, piping etc i'll have to shell out for. Now. What are people thoughts on this idea. I'm not chasing big power or anything. Just a mode…
