Thought I might as well introduce myself on here with a members ride thread, have owned the car Since, December 07, and bought it like this, minus the sprayed black rims few pictures of the interior, exterior and engine few weeks after purchasing the car, blew the gasket on the so called "indestructable" 3tc motor. i thought it was cool to buy some rims and thrash the motor even more, i bought some 14x6 +15 or so challengers with tractor spec tyres finally blew it completely which means the 'ol girl was ready for a makeover, decided to go with JDM 4age 16V as it was in my budget and readily available. af…

okay. so basically i ended up with this car because dad grabbed it up for his own use when his motor bike was stolen. then basically i bought it off him because he no longer had a use for it and i figured it was a good first car. when we got the car it looked pretty bad. the passenger side front quarter was black from when the previous owner ran into a pole and had to have it replaced. so we got out the old spray can and silvered it so that it wasnt as bad of an eye sore. so this is basically what it looked like before. and from that point basically there was alot that needed to be done. we got a new bonnet as the one on it was sort of caved in and all. and we de…

One of my dads mates had this just sitting on his back lawn so i decided to buy it for $50 (not the best photo) The only thing really wrong with it was just the outside and inside of the car. All the engine and gearbox and stuff worked fine and was in good condition. Since my dads a panel beater he gave it a respray so the white wouldn't look as dull and put new tires and rims on it. After that the interior needed a cleanup and new seats were needed. We also tinted the windows, put a pioneer DEH-P3950MP head unit in and 2 pioneer front speakers. Then we put some seats in gave the interior a good clean up and this is the final result. Now i want to…

My dad used to have a Ke70 when I was a child, grew up in one for a couple years but he couldn't keep it. After I became aware of this cars are really hard to find. I finally had to money to buy one and find one in good decent shape. I want to this project since my dad is getting old, want to make a car in honor of him. 11. This summer a buddy and me were going to the North Cape, a story you can read here. In short, I sent my white '82 KE70 off the road 150 miles down the trip and bought another '82 KE70 the same day. In two months I've put 5k miles on it and it's worked like a charm. Prior to the unintended offroading with the white car I was going to tear it down and build it up like a pre-facelift with JDM front lights, chrome bumpers and more. Right now I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but the beige '82 is a far better base than the white '82. Either I'm gonna restore the beige car with its original parts and newer chrome bumpers (that's if the white car survives, not dec…

Hello Rollaclub people, see a few familiar names on here! Thought I'd register and get my foot in the door. This is my Daihatsu Charmant A35, I'm sure you'll be familiar with the name as in terms of parts it is mechanically identical to the KE70. It has a 4K engine and 5 speed manual box just the same, it just looks different. They're a pretty obscure car worldwide, Daihatsu marketed it as an executive car back in the early 80s and as expected didn't really sell many. They faded into obscurity quite fast! It has a more obviously 80s look to the bodywork, very plush carpets and the most beige and brown interior ever. Asides from that it's a KE70 really. In the shor…

Hi guys, I'm a new owner of a pretty old rolla. It's a 1983 KE70 Corolla wagon CS. Just wondering if there's a site with a little more detail about this car, or if anyone else has one that they've done some work too. I'm basically keeping it as a second car, and am keen to take it on little trips etc, as I see that as the advantage of having a wagon ;) Also, does anyone know what size speakers fit in these cars? Maybe 4 or 6 inch in the front, and the rear speaker holes look pretty big- maybe 6 x 9, but I haven't had a good look. There's currently no speakers or system in the car at all, so I'm keen to buy a little system for it. Let me know what you think. The c…

Bought this off a retiree a couple of weeks ago. He bought it in 1990 and has babied it since then. When we found it, the van had been sitting in the garage for months. Came with thousands of dollars in maintenance receipts. Poor guy got ripped off bad by his mechanic. Initial plans are to fit quad headlights and subsequent front guards, wheels, flare the guards, tint windows, new windscreen, straighten bumpers a bit and add some fixed back seats. Hope you like.

Thanks for all the extra bits mate, some will come in handy :D Anyhow, having 340,odd kays on it, there's bound to be some problems. 1: It's running rather hot, sitting at half way on average. So far I've done the following: I gave the system a few flushes because it was running water (rusty at that) not coolant. I tried a bottle of radiator flush but it didn't clean that much crap out, so does anyone recommend something that works well at cleaning out corrosion sludge from the system well? 23. We decided to buy yet another 82, this one being very very tidy for its age. The rundown: 85 model CSX. Auto, air, steer. 237000ks. Engine rebuilt at 18****ks - 10 years ago. Very clean interior. New suspension. New cv shafts. New rear muffler. New starter. New rear wheel cylinders etc. I got it with a blown head gasket and found that the cause is a corroded head that overlapped the firing ring on the cylinder, I have another head here at work so it will be cleaned up and put on. The pistons are .5 (.020) oversize and the bores and exceptional.

This is a story of a family heirloom so to speak. This Seca was first bought by my dad as a cheap run around back in 2003. After upgrading to a new Seca in 2005, my brother bought it. After which, it quickly fell into disrepair as the interior and engine were being neglected. This became even more evident after sitting stagnant for a year in my bro's garage. After ditching my old KE70 "Stan", I was due for an upgrade. So, as this Seca had already been owned by both of the other men in my family, it was only right for it to become mine. And so it did, for the choice sum of $25O. Although I was quickly to find out that the starter motor, master/slave clutch and alte…

Paint's a bit rough on the roof and bootlid but no rust except for a little bit (that i can see) under the front passenger on the car body. Will most likely need some parts for it but it's going to have to be a slow project as i'm at tafe full time and work only part time. 29. I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. It was my first car and is still used on a semi-regular basis. However, with 250,000 klms on the clock she is getting a little tired and frayed around the edges. We investigated getting another second car and putting the GTi out to pasture (we are NEVER going to sell her, too many memories). We have rejected that idea as there is little in today’s small car market (Feista, Yaris, Polo, etc) that would match or even come close the GTi in performance. So we have decided that the GTi will get a complete over…
