Ok REALLY don't know alot about carbys so I'm gonna need some help here. I havent got the carby yet but I have it lined up. It is a Cortina 2.0L Weber 32/36 DGV I believe. What kind of modifications do I have to do? I KNOW its gonna need jetting down (where do I get parts for this?) and ajusting plates. How hard is it to make ajuster plates? and any other useful info would be much appreciated!

Does anyone know where to get K engine custom pulleys? I am retro fitting A/C to a 3K engine. A 4K pulley is significantly larger than the 3K so it would be over driving, thats the last thing I need.

Hey in the middle of a build-up. 4age SP, 7 rib block I have done all the main caps/bearings etc. While checking the normal thrust clearance (Sideways) it's perfect very little movement 0.015-0.020. But while spinning the crank over I notice the thrust bearing itself slightly moving up and down and across, Not (sideways) am I making any sence?? :jamie: Is this a problem?? Measures up identical to old set and no machining been done just a crank linish. Any ideas???????????????

Ahoy peoples. Just a quick question, Does the crankshaft pulley bolt on a K series motor (doing 5K atm) have a reverse type thread? (Clockwize to undo) or is it a normal (anti-clockwize to undo) ? Ive got access to all the SST's ever known to man, which Ive already made use off, but this one bolt has me rather stuck; the only fact in the Toyota manuals they don't tell you.. Ive got a hinting suspicion that IS a reverse type thread.. blast! :D

Hey All. Well, ive descided to go full out with the gauges, in my Blue ke70. (for the piece of mine for nick and justin, i wont be doing it up there :harhar:) Basically, (see pic first up) - I'm extending the gauge cluster to the left, and adding "Oil temp, Oil Press, Water Temp" Catch is, i plan to do it, in a way, which makes it look STOCK ! So, that means striping down the new gauges, and changing the backrounds, and making all the gauge markings the same, as per stock ke70 / Ae71. Now that we have moved over that, what ive been doing is scanning in the gauge facures, editing them, making them a black and white BMP (black backround, white = cl…

Ive been racking my brain on how id go about fitting and undercar surge tank in my ke30. I vaguely remember seeing build threads hear on rollaclub where guys had custom ones made up but after searching, I can't seem to find em. From memory they where kinda rectangular shaped that hugged the tire well but I can't honestly remember. If anyone owns or knows of these cars, could you give us a link to the build threads or any other info (based on personal experience) would be appreciated. I really don't want to put a surge tank in the boot.

Hey all Ok, so ive got another weird idea, lets see how QLD transport likes this one :doublebird: Ok, my idea is this. To what i know, the coldest air (when a vehicle is moving) - flows up over the bonnet, and spirals/curls around the bottom of the front windscreen. (top pic) Is it legal if you cut a hole large enough to fit a medium sized pod filter through the top of the fire wall - so that its in the area where the air is sucked in from the outside and into the cabin / where the mechanism is for the window washers (bottom pic) This way you can have a really short intake pipe, and it would be away from the hot exhaust :P

My i dear every since i have decide to run a SC14 (if i can find one  ) is to run a reversed FWD manifold. I have a TVIS big-port i got with the sprinter spare parts. How much restriction would the 'flutes' be. Its just the manifold, no butterfly's. Would the spacer cause any turbulence. Would it restrict air flow that much. Would there be any point in changing over them from the crappy RWD manifold? Because it seems that the Big port FWD non-TVIS are very rare :D ie only one bigport GZEs

Hey all. I have cut springs all round on my car but the back ones are king springs for a falcon and the front ones are stock... Now my problem is a real dam bumpy ride. I was thinking of taking out my rear air shocks and replace them with gas shocks. That's my plan for the rear. So now I'm stuck with the front. Is there any possible way to make the front a smoother ride? Cheers

Hey guys, I'm fitting an intercooler to my rolla and I also want to keep the stock front end and street look without any intercooler / piping sticking out - in order to do this it looks like I have to cut the bottom radaitor support, now the question we hate ... is this legal? or am I going to expect trouble from the police / RTA? From my research it appears ok as long as some kind of bracing exists. Unfortunately I don't have a welder so i can't fabricate anything myself beside little metal brackets from alloy.

Hey. With some encouragement from the boys on the last WA cruise, I'm thinking about cutting the stock springs on my KE70. Just wondering what peoples experiences are with doing this... good.. bad.. advantages.. disadvantages. It won't be an extremely low height (will be a legal height), but my car sits quite high so I'll be dropping it a bit. Cheers.

Outer CV boot on my SV21 camry has shat itself, Haynes manual recons it's a "non-serviceable" part but searching around the net and asking around it seems that it's apparently a fairly straightforward replacement... Anyone have any tips? I've never taken apart the front end of the Camry before (apart from replacing the steering rack), so have no idea what to expect. It appears that I need to take the hub off, and I'm guessing there's a circlip or something that holds it all together?

Hey all Well, Ive been thinking again with the motor designs, and i thought of another idea. Now, I'm not sure if its considered a 2 stroke..? (see pic) Anyway! My idea is simply a cylinder, big inlet port & valve on left, and Big exhaust port & valve on right with a big spark plug up the top... (as in pic ) Would this work? would more valves instead of 1 big 1 for each inlet / exhaust? Yes / no ? thanks !

Hey all, a few of my gauges on my dash arent working correctly and i wanna know, is it my dash thats screwed up or dodgey wiring! my fuel gauge is like never working and usually always sits on empty which is really annoying as i dunno when to fill up! and my temp gauge usually sits at the correct temp but every now and then it will jump to over half when i hit 2.5k revs, then when i drop below that it goes back to normal! do i get a new dash as the board on it is f*cked, or do i trace the wiring back! i don't really know where i should be looking for the temp and fuel gauge wiring! as in when it gets to the engine bay help is much appreciated

I'd like to record a few things like suspension travel in the rally car but have no idea about how to go about it. I could rig up a mechanical system to get maximum compression over a rally stage, but would really like something to record 10 or 15minutes worth of movement. Then it will be G-forces, steering input, pedal movement.. I can see this will never stop! So, if anyone has any ideas on how you record data, store it and display it later I'd like to know. Farmspec of course, I could go and spend a couple of hundred thousand dollars and buy the commercial packages, but I'm sure ingenuity can do it. My kickoff point would be an infra-red distance meter fro…

Basically i'm interested in finding out whether there are similarities, given i've done a quick search and could find little on the topic. Could a twin manifold from a datsun 1200, fit a 3/4k head?? As a seller on Ebay mentions that his twin weber manifold does fit a 3/4k. Regards.

Accelerator pump jets dripping during closed throttle/ idle. Whats the most likely cause? The check balls in the circuit look ok. Could it be the accelerator pump intake/discharge valve? Though they seem to be ok (can only blow through one way). Just wanted to check before I order new ones. Any help appreciated.

Hi All, I picked a pair of these up a little while ago and have been meaning to get around to paying them the attention the require. They had been sitting for a few years, but the butterfly's still move in a nice smooth motion and with a decent clean they should come up nice. I am thinking about buying a DHLA40 rebuild kit, something like this... Click Here I was wondering if anyone else has done a similar service to their Dellorto's or equivalent, and how they found the experience. Would this be all that is required for a fully serviced carburettor? I need to get the two carbs re-jetted to suit my motor (hopefully a 5K to replace the 3K in my 1972 Ke20), shou…
