hey all, recently purchased my first ke20. now to stopping time in this car is a lil slow for me haha and i really wanna swap out the stud patterns to 4x114.3 for a more variety of wheels as i don't wanna be getting sets redrilled! now after doing a search on here, reading the FAQ and a lil help from benzo ;) i couldn't find the answer i was after... FRONTS i want to know if a can just swap out my front ke20 struts with ke55/ke70 struts or even ke30 if need be... to get the new stud pattern and a larger brake, is it a straight swap or will there be some modding? and will if fit onto the ke20 lower control arm? or is there another way i can upgrade...? Hi Guys We over tighted one of the bolts and the head came off, we are using stud removers to get it out but it broke off. We need to get the pump off so we can get a better look at the stuck bolt. We removed all the bolts and I think we are stuck on the strainer, is there a technique to get it off without removing the sump pan? If we need to remove the sump pan, is there a way to get off without removing the engine?? Any help appreciated, and urgently needed, thanks so much Mike P.S Also Posted on Toymods

Hello, my 5k engine cylinderhead has crushed :P. Can you help me guys telling where I can find another one to replace it or can I replace the 5k one with one from another engine? I am not from Australia so don't send me to a known mechanic :jamie: thanks in advance.

hii i currently have a worked 5k with the 5k head will a 3k bigport head be better than the 5k head? and how much difference will it make cheers brendan

I am selling a 3T Clickity clickity As it does not come with a carby, and i do not know what was originally on there to start with; I and potensual byers would like to know what will fit with not too much hastle, where to get them, and if anyone has one for sale. Hi all, A previously stated i"m a newby here. I have a KE20 all original and have a question. Will RA23 Celica front struts fit into the 20.? I have a shed full of RA/TA23 Celica Parts(approx 3 cars worth). So it would be handy to use them for a bit of an upgrade. Cheers Ian.

hey umm i brought a ae71 of LE|garage of here and it has its small problems it will sometimes idle in drive others it wont and the brokes barly work helps cuz I'm going to kill myself soon :hmm:

hi I'm just wondering if anyone has replaced there ke10 rear wheel cylinders with ke20 ones. Will they fit straight in. Its just i have replaced my ke10 master cylinder to a tandem 11/16 and wanna run bigger wheel cylinders. to my knowledge ke20 run and 11/16 master cylinder so I'm thinking the rear wheel cylinders would match my new ones. Can anyone confirm if they fit or have done this pls

hi am going to fit girlock calipers from a ke30 to my ke20. I know i need to drill and tap the holes. Question is do i need to buy the ke30 hub and discs or can i use my ke20 ones. i know i definitely need the backing plate so i can mount the caliper. Can anyone clear it , whether i need the hub and discs, also

Having problems i think my cam timing is out,can only get it to run smooth at about 20 degress advanced. Its mildish 4k with tighe 154 grind cam webers etc The harmonic balancer has three marks on it for some reason two on outer edge and one on the inside edge of the pulley :jamie: Whats the best way to check it with out pulling it a part ? thanks inadvance rob :P

hey all just got my new ke70 5 speed plan to keep the 4k because its fair punchy for a 4k haha. umm i want to supercharge it but its locked atm so I'm going to guess with the power boost axles are going to high tale there asses out. how much am i looking to get a r31 diff (28 spline) shortend and how hard is it to link up the disc brakes? any help appreciated Jamin

hi i bought a saas boss kit for my ke55 and it fitted the spline and everything good but the thread on the column wasnt long enough to put the nut on, anyone else had this problem? and what boss kit fits? at one autoparts shop they said there is a long and short shaft column in the corollas is this true?

hey all i need help was sold a coil and ignitor, apparently for my smallport. problem is - were having troubles identifying exactly what the 4 wires correspond to... we have every single wiring diagram and pin out diagram the internet can host in several hours of foruming and googling! apparently smallport ignitors arent supposed to have 4 wires either... apparently? do i have a camry ignitor or something? or should i stop listening to my mates who say my shit is wrong? can anyone confirm this? HELP!

gday lads just wanting to know if theres a rule of thumb when adjusting the air/fuel mixture on the carby, like tighten it then back off 2 1/2 turns or anything similar to that?? I'm running quite rich and don't wanna get a paided tune until i fix my muffler

Hi guys. I own a 1978 Ke55 Rolla. I'm just wondering where the hose goes that comes from the bottom of the fuel canister (charcoal canister what ever it is called) just behind the battery. I'm only asking because mine is loose and i can pull it out easy. The hose comes from the bottom of the canister and just sits in the chassis rail below it, under the battery. Cheers Andrew

Hey in the middle of a build-up. 4age SP, 7 rib block I have done all the main caps/bearings etc. While checking the normal thrust clearance (Sideways) it's perfect very little movement 0.015-0.020. But while spinning the crank over I notice the thrust bearing itself slightly moving up and down and across, Not (sideways) am I making any sence?? :jamie: Is this a problem?? Measures up identical to old set and no machining been done just a crank linish. Any ideas???????????????

When i bought an AE71 the other week the fuel tank was removed from the car.... and just yesterday i tried to put back in but then realised that i didnt no where all the fuel lines go? the car has a VLT fuel pump as well as a surge tank any help would be good cheers

hi I have a 7 rib block but it has no oil return pipe, The other 7rib I have has it and also oil squirters. Can I still use a smallport head on the block with no oil return pipe??

Do big port and small port 4age heads have the same size inlet valves? If they do, would the air flow be any different between the two heads? Just trying to work out which head/ cam combinations would work best. thanks

Hey guys just put the motor in a 94 rolla everything connected but has no spark only thing that seems odd is the two brown wires that went to the starter isthisnormal any help would be good

i have put a 5k and 5 speed into a ke17 does anyone know what tail shaft combination i can use. i have the ke17 shaft which is the right length but wrong spline, i have a late ke30 shaft (aussie build) which is to long and the unis are not a match, anyone know which shaft i need (early jap ke30???) thanks for any info

hi guys... just wondering if there is a trick or something to get these gear box's out... have all the bolts removed but it just wont come out ... so i have chucked a bolt in and a jack stand under to keep it up. can anyone help ? things i might be thinking are dropping the sub frame or removing the swaybar.
