Hi everyone. I have a 5k in my KE70 and I've broken two starter motors in the last 4 or 5 months - however long I've had the 5k in! It seems that the one that most recently broke down was due to the solenoid. It was an NRMA replacement item, so I wouldn't have expected it to break! (It wasn't brand new, but was on a guess less than 70,000k's fresh and was in good working order). 1. What possible causes could there be to the starter motor's breaking? 2. Is it just a common thing for starter motor's to break on K motors? 3. Best/cheapest options to fix! - brand newie (cost?), 2nd handy from wreckers (cost?), recondition? 4. Any experiences people have had. 5…

I finished work around 6pm on friday night, and I had to replace a rear wheel bearing and a CV boot on my brothers ae93 after work. I ripped into the wheel bearing first, stopped for a bite to eat halfway through, and by the time I got to the CV boot it was maybe 8:30pm or so... I ripped the CV shaft out, pulled it apart, cleaned it up, took the new boot out of the box and found it was the wrong one!! fat chance of getting a hold of auto one to get the right boot at that time of the night... anyway, as I had to drive the car home, I had to pop it all back together. Now I was replacing the boot on account of there being a small (10-15mm) gash in it and grease leaki…

hey guys after an opinion on what pistons to get with my rebuild kit, i have the option of wiseco forged pistons to suit 4age or 4agze, plans for the engine it to rebuild it and run it NA untill i have every thing sorted then fit turbo (HKS T28) and aftermarket computer ect, i could get 4agze pistons and shave the head to bring the compression back up to near stock then i have to source a new head once the turbo goes on (allows me to build a decent head with cams and such) 4age pistons and run a decomp plate 4age pistons and keep the boost lowish and still be drivable off boost thanks guys  also its a smallport if it makes any different

looking at buying a 1999-2005 model toyota Avalon or Camry v6 (hopefully a v6 manual wagon camry if I can find one) There are lots of them around the 100k mark. Just wondering if they have a timing belt thats needs changing then and if so how much would it be to do. I have done a timing belt in a 2000 corolla not long ago and it was pretty easy but doing a frontwheel drive v6 seems to be a pain in the arse. Any help guys, hope they have a timing chain.

Hey everyone, I've fitted semi slicks to my 20 now... and I've been told to be careful of 2 things: 1. Over working the brakes with increased speeds (already ordered front pads in the QFM A1RM, double the working temp of my current pads) and 2. Oil surge as a result of increased corner speed and non baffled sump. While not a solution, I am in the process of fitting an oil pressure gauge and an autometer pro warning light (idiot light) I'm just concerned about the number of senders being tee'd off the oil pressure switch. There is the gauge, a idiot light sender and in the future, a 5psi electric fuel pump safety shut off switch. I have a few questions,…

Hello ladies and gents i'm helping undertaker get his new ta22 to run and stay running, :D but were having a drama with the engine, it has a webber on it and once you get it running you can't accelerate at all it just dies like a huge flat spot, i have another webber at home, we changed the carbies around (mine is jetted for a t04 on the side of a t series engine :) ), but it still does it it idle's perfectly untill you feed it some go go juice, it's like the motor wont accept more air and fuel, i'm wondering does it have anything to do with the timing being out a tooth or so, or something in the mani stopping it from going. Any help would be great cheers Justin

Hi guys my name is Tim and I recently bought a keto and am currently in the process of doing the usual 4age into keto conversion... now my problem lies in the fact that the engine I bought has obviously been in a car that was in a decent sized accident and one of the tabs off the block where the bellhousing attaches has broken off. I haven't taken any pics of the actual break itself but I have found one online and illustrated where it has broken off (completely, not cracked). 27. Hi all. My awesome little rolla is having trouble again... :( Car: 1993 Toyota Corolla CSI Limited Hatch -- 4-AFE EFI engine. So today, we were driving along the Great Western when my car started making a "clicky" noise and smelling really weird, then started losing power. About 5km up, we made a turn off the highway and my car completely died, and there was smoke coming from the engine. Also when we opened the bonnet there was oil all over the engine, and there was no oil in my car anymore when yesterday it was full. There is no discernable leak whatsoever. We've put oil in it, and eventually it started and we got it home (took about 15 tries), and now it…

Hi all. Have been trying to find this information myself, been looking through faq and other places. I am putting AE86 front struts and some other 86 suspension gear into the front of my KE70 Pano. The only thing I need to get now is springs, I want to keep it Stock height, it sounds strange but the stock height suits me perfect for what I use it for. I can't find the stock front spring heights for both AE86 and KE70 to compare, they have a difference king spring part number so I can see the car will either be higher or lower so if anyone has the measurements that would be great.
