  1. Hi All, here's my first how to, not sure if the pics will work but here go's. Cheap brake upgrade for RWD Corollas (AE71 or similar). After looking through endless web pages for information on a cheap brake upgrade, and not finding anything useful (some people have a different view on what “cheap†is – my definition is as cheap as possible) I've decided to throw this article together. mk so, my brake light switch was not working, the bolts holding it in place had loosened so it slipped back and was not turning the brake light. so i fixed that and i noticed the brakes were really tight when i pressed it. as in the brake peddal didnt go down as far as it once did. so i topped up my brake fluid and drove it for a coupple of days. a few days after fixing the switch i noticed that the brakes became very squishy and were not as sensitive as the once were. since then they have gotten very bad. so bad that the brakes hardly work ithout pumping the pedal once before the car begins to brake. anyone have any suggestions?? could it be a bubble in the lines? i real…

Hey guys. Due to people asking WAY to much for ae86 brakes (imo) i'm starting to think about getting my BC AE86 coilovers with a different stub axle for different brakes.. Now, The brakes need to be relatively easy to get and they MUST fit under 13" wheels.. Does anyone have any suggestions? Right now i'm thinking T18.. As i already have a complete t18 brake setup here, Only thing i've heard is the callipers are a bit of a let down? Anything anyone can tell me or suggest would be overrated! Cheers, Jono

hey guys, well I'm having some issues withthe brakes on the 1ggte ke70. basically what happens is that when you depress the brake pedal it goes down along way and the brakes arnt too sharp. if you then lift off and quickly back down the "pump up" and i get the stiff pedal i expect these are ra60 calipers on the front and alfa romeo on the rear, but i don't think that matters ive replaced: brand new master cylinder, brand new brake pads, brand new fluid, brand new front rotors and remachined rears there are no leaks and I'm sitting here scratching my head. i have no issues with them due to the compression braking, but i failed an rwc last week because of this and h…

Finally got around to pulling the back plate off the back of my diff after breaking something in it two weeks ago. Got the cover off and discovered I've broken the spider gears. So we're going to see if we can weld it up until I can work out what LSD I want to use and will best suit my purposes (preferably one that will be possible to attach disc brakes to) and then wait until I've got the funds to afford it. Any tips of welding diffs?

Now what can i do? does anyone have any laying around? Particularly Adelaide? ASAP>? Should i ask for genuine toyota, or can i match the bolts at a motor traders. etc provioded they are high tensile steel and exact dimensions? Wreckers even? furthermore, should i replace just the one, or a whole set of 8, seeing as one broke, i don't want to take a risk with any others...if so, will a wrecker be fine or should i try source brand new? thanks guys

Hi guys I'm pretty new to this whole corolla scene. I have recently purchased a ke70 as a daily, and it has a bit of oil in the water, and I'd say it needs rings at a minimum. I was just going to do a 4age swap but because I didn't research enough before I bought the car (should have loomed for an Ae71, it appears) and the fact that I live in Mackay (not exactly easy to find parts up here), it's going to be easier to just rebuild the k motor. Now I don't expect monster power from the thing, but would like it to be able to power up the range and be able to overtake safely. What kind of mods should I be looking into that won't cost me a fortune, but will give me good ba…

Hey all, got a real nice and healthy 4k-c 4 speed, which sits in a late ke38. Was thinking of puting a 18R in it, but i've been told its a lot of mucking around for little reward. I was also considering the 2t conversion but its only 13kw up on the 4k to begin with, so that sounds like a waste of time to me. Anywho, as i stated, my 4k-c is in very good condition so i thought why not mod it. The 4k is rated at 45kw on most sites, so i was wondering what the following mods will fetch me: Stage 3 cam, double valve springs, mild port job, extractors and 2 inch exhaust and a set of twin 1.5 inch SU's. What kinda kw's at the fly can i expect... approx???

morning fellas i have just sold one of my 3t's and it gives me some money to play with building another 3t. I'm after some pointers at it is going to be a fairly budget build, nothing dodgy just clean and cheap. the motor will have to handel around 12psi of boost at the max the idea will be just rings bearings and gaskets, a new cam will be ground while its apart and i need some help choosing that as i know nothing about choosing a turbo cam, the engine will be build for a daily driver, drifter and most likely some drags. some of the bolt on things will be a ct20 on a 3tgte manifold and a 32/36 weber jetted to suit a turbo application(brad sheriff of boost a…

  34. Guys, I've mentioned before that I want to do build my Motor with the plan to run E85 if I can get my hands on it. PLEASE don't make this some kind of ethical food supply debate, nor am I interested in hearing advice from "peoples qualified mates" or the various Pro and Anti ethanol conspiracies, I've come across them all before. Here are my plans: Carby - DHLA's will give me ample room to tune for the extra fuel supply required, with experimentation i will be able to quickly swap jets between straight fuel and Ethanol. Other mods so I have been told are o/S valves, cam , springs , porting, has a weber 32/36, and also he said its been over bored to fit 22r pistons. Has anyone ever heard of this or is this guy on crack??? I thought that 89mm was the max for a 3tc. Any info would be great Guys.
