having electrical gremlins with my car. windscreen washer motor got hot and now car won't start. thinking it might be the ecu any ideas

my mate keeps going on about Having an ADR (Australian design rules) approved steering wheel where can i find a list of what steering wheels are accepted i have a classic momo steering wheel to put on my corolla any info or advice would be appreciated thanks Harry

Hi guys I'm pretty new to this whole corolla scene. I have recently purchased a ke70 as a daily, and it has a bit of oil in the water, and I'd say it needs rings at a minimum. I was just going to do a 4age swap but because I didn't research enough before I bought the car (should have loomed for an Ae71, it appears) and the fact that I live in Mackay (not exactly easy to find parts up here), it's going to be easier to just rebuild the k motor. Now I don't expect monster power from the thing, but would like it to be able to power up the range and be able to overtake safely. What kind of mods should I be looking into that won't cost me a fortune, but will give me good ba…

Hello everyone... I am currently trying to get my 4age ignition sorted out! From want i have been reading i have been led to understand if i set up my stock 4age distibutor and coil with a GM HEI IGNITION MODULE it will work... Can anyone confirm this for me? Also what are some other budget options for carbed 4age ignition? Any help will be appreciated Thanks

Gday fellow rolla club members. my family just brought a 323 astina 1992 it is idling really low and doesnt like pulling off and seems to starve of petrol and then comes to life after around 2000 rpm i have checked the transmition and its fine. i am convinced it is to do with either the injectors, a sensor or the fuel pump. sorry for being so vague and ideas what it could be and what to check thanks in advance Harry

Hey I'm looking at buying a Ke70 with a bluetop 4age conversion, The conversion is almost done just needs a Thermofan, tailshaft, g/box crossmember, and a bit of wiring sorted out. what do u guys rekon?

I was flicking through my Gregory's manual for the Corolla 1200. (KE2# series). In the brake section it does state there was a booster option on the Australian made vehicles. I'll scan the page as soon as I can get out to my old man's place. Can anyone else confirm or deny this?

KE70 - XT130 Struts - What brake lines Bought a project fitted with XT130 struts and LCA,s On the Driver side the metal brake line is non existant and can't find it anywhere! So, just wondering if I use stock KE70 metal brake line and flexible hose, or do you use XT130 parts? Thanks, Al.

Taking out my inlet/exhaust manifold and coolant has started to leak out of the rear - top most bolt hole. So the last bolt towards the rear that both the inlet and exhaust get mounted to. I am able to squish the radiator hose and squirt coolant out of the bolt hole...... I wouldn't say that's normal? Could it be a headgasket problem? I'm not using any coolant or leaking any at the bottom, I only noticed it after I took off the manifolds. Again, WTF?

Hey Guys, Need some help as I have never ran a car thru regency for road worthy!! Issue: Originally purchased a MA61 as a street legal track car but upon stripping more then expected rust was present(SURPRISE??).... about 7 inches either side below the front windscreen is rusted out :( decided a donor car was needed and purchased a almost rust free MA61 without a sunroof! but is defected(Tread,a few lights & replaced steering column).. hey guys, hope i don't get flamed for this, because i did try to search this but didnt really find anything that could tell me. But anyway, i just want to find out the differences between all the 4 age engines? like between 16v and 20 v and big port and small port? and which ones will be better to turbo later on? or will supercharging one be better/more cost effective? So finally getting my corolla painted currently in primer and finishing off some body work. basically just need some ideas of paint jobs! so far all i have thought of is White but i think it would be to plain/common, orange which might be to over the top, Gun metal gray (yet to find a decent looking one with out quad lights) or Midnight blue which looks pretty sweet! if anyone has any ideas for paint colours! please let me know it would be good to get some opinions :y:

hey guys..my ta22 celica has a frustrating problem, the accelerator is stuck and wont unjam itself..when you break, clutch, change gears...its still going!! it wont stop unless you pull it up, ive had a look and i can't seem to find anything thats making it stuck...got any ideas???

Ok so I'm rebuilding my 4k and have 5k pistons (8cc volume) pistons. Just wondering if any one can point me in the right direction to what my compression will be. Head is a ke70 4k head. Hope this is enough info. Thanks in advance

I hate starting threads but... 4age bigport 16v from an AE82 No O2 sensor When I start it, it will catch, chugalug, cough, sound sick so I turn it off. Wait a bit, (2-3 seconds) turn it back on. Start, and it will either do the same thing( go to line 3) or fire really good. So annoying. Ideas? EDIT: Should mention he 'said' he got a new ECU and MAP sensor?

Hey Peeps, I need a uni joint for my KE50 - and I am not sure if it's the same a a KE55 one, but I have been running into this problem.. Other parts that I have bought for my KE50/55E which I have ordered as standard 'KE55' parts, they've not fitted, or they've needed minor modifications.. So I want to make sure I get the correct universal joint.. Can anyone help as to where the best place might be to get one from in Adelaide (or anywhere in Australia - I am happy to pay postage). for my RWC i need rear control arm bushes and rear trailing arm bushes, phoned around they're hard to come by would i be able to buy the bushes from a different model Toyota and fit those? same goes for the front disks. thanks guys

Recently put s13 front coilovers in my bluebird including sr20det calipers n rotors! tried to bleed them and no fluid comes out, so i bleed the rears and fluid comes out of them but still don't work ( front and rear brakes worked b4 i put coilovers in) not sure what the problem is! any ideas??? cheers :D

This may be a stupid question but as I have no clue don't hate on me. I want to fit extractors to my ke70 and was wondering if I will need a different exhaust than stock? Because I'm on my p's I don't want it to attract attention with a different exhaust

This is from a Weber conversion booklet put out by Borg Warner (they used to be the Australian Weber agents) sometime in the early 80's giving a listing of suggested jet settings for various tunes, including Corolla's (1200) for twin 40mmDCOE on both stock and full competition engine, Celica's etc amongst many others. I have put the whole listing up in case you have something else of interest in the shed. It lists suggested choke, secondary venturi and assorted jet sizes. This should give you a bit of an idea for a reasonable state of tune prior to heading along to your friendly local dyno. weber settings.pdf

recently rebuilt 7mge with around 20 thou removed from the block and head. (compression should be around 10.5:1), ran it in by mildly thrashing it. But now have the problem with TERRIBLE fuel eco. my mate who was following me while i was giving it a boot said it was blowing black smoke all thru the rev range. 60L of 98 octance just got 300km. timing was set at the factory 8 degrees. but i could feel like it didnt want to pull nicely. therefore bumped it up to 15, went a little beter then laster bumped it up to 22! now it ʞ©$ɟing PULLS! heres a pic of the plug any ideas on what to check? o2 sensor. afm? tps? vac leaks?

Can any help me out a little? My ae92 4afc corollla just strated playing up, the temp gauge goes to red and shuts the engine off, its not overheating, iv changed the thermo sensors, any one able to give me soon advice on what it could be??

hey people, i am currently trying to get my efi sorted on my 4age bigport, but i am having some problems.. and now my plans for the motor have changed and id like to go carbi. whats the deal with a dizzy, do i have to replace it with a carbi one or can i change the internals or can i leave it as it is? also I'm going twin webbers, is there any special requirements/mechanical work needed that i should know about other than removing the throttle body/intake? and is there anything else i need to change other than those 2 things?

hey guys I'm planning on doing a quad throttle body setup and was wondering about injectors.do i need to go to bigger injectors,if so will 20v ones fit?plugs etc.and is there any difference between the electrical systems to operate them?(ohms and whatnot).am planning on putting bigger cams in at a later date if that makes a difference.also its for a ae82 fxgt so if will there be any problems i'll encounter?any help would be appreciated.i know the questions may seem silly but people arent really clued up over here

Hi all, Just did a transplant and put a 4ac into my 70. It runs great only problem is it's idling way too high. It starts up nicely and then slowly the revs get higher and higher, when you step on the throttle it will raise the revs and then they will not return the revs just keep getting higher. BTW I don't know anything about carby's. Also another interesting thing is that I converted the 4ac from auto to manual and so it had like an auto choke linkage, when I move the auto choke mechanism thing it seems to make a diffeence in how the throttle butterfly thing opens and closes, when I don't touch it the buttlerfly doesnt fully return and the butterfly stays …

my front bumper sits on the piss and i have some time off work and want to fix it but i can't workout which bolts underneath are for the bumper bracket as you can see from the photo, left side sits higher than right

Hey guys I'm having a somewhat strange issue in my RA23. So I just put an 18RG in her that I had lying around, no problems there, pretty standard with the normal solex's. Its been driving good for a few weeks. Last weekend I done a oil and coolant change, let it idle for 10min to open up the thermostat then shut it down. After that I took it for a drive and it was running like total crap, it was bogging down real bad and it didnt really feel like all 4 were firing together. Started it again today, drove like crap for 5min then like magic it cleared up and run good again, 30 minutes later it all of a sudden died again (at least 50% drop in power) and was bog…

Alright guys easy little silly question. There is an oil line under where the left hand engine mount bolts to. Just wondering which way you guys have turned it as mine is coming out the top of the mount? Hopefully it clears everything as I'm putting it back together but most of you guys will have had the experience already so after any advice on this? Thanks in advance :-)

I keep coming up against the questions Do you want the power steering crossmember or the non power steering? I have no idea i have bought a blacktop 20v for my ke70 and I'm assuming I'm not going to be installing PS into the ke70 anyone help me quickly problem shoot this I've searched a few forums with no clear answer cheers jack

After installing my AFR I've noticed that the carb leans out really bad when you jump on the throttle (like to 21 AFR). I previously thought it was bogging down to over fuelling but obviously not. If i put the choke on about 1/4 it solves the problem but idles rich, usually it idles stoich right on 14.7. So I'm thinking it might be a partially blocked jet in the secondary throat? I'm not very experienced with carbs so some input would be great.

Hi all,was hoping to get some advice on a problem with what appears to be a gasket that goes between the inlet and exhaust manifolds which is partly missing (see photo). I have heard that you can get some exhaust repair paste that could potentially be a quick fix, but thought i would see if anyone else has had issues with this before (i haven't been able to find much info on this gasket, even the workshop manual i have doesn't seem to mention it in the inlet/exhaust manifold section). Ok so I have put into my ke20 a smallport 4age with t50 20 spline.. my build thread : http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/60867-another-4age-ke20/page__hl__%20another%20%204age I have 2 issues one which i think i have found the answer to. 1. i have an issue with oil leaking between the bellhousing and box. (i have found that i need a spacer ring on the input bearing.. will this be causing the box to move on the bh and leak oil?) 2. clutch slip. I have an almost new exedy clutch in there and afaik i have standard smallport hp. It slips really bad. could the spacer ring i didnt know about be causing this issue as well? any advice greatly appreciated, …
