hey i got told to make a new thread about my car so hear i am it is a 1978 ke30 i brought it off an old man for $700.00 i have done a fair bit to it since i first got it. it had a 3k in but i put 4k in it to give it a little bit more ooooNTH i have put 15'' inch medusa rims on it. 15/6.5 with firenza drift tyres 195/50r15 i have got 4x114.3 27mm bolt on spacers on to have these rims ;) lol i got a cyclops alarm system installed i did all audio my self , running 220 what kenwood cd player, with 420 what sony 6x9 speakers at back and 4 inch 80wat tweeters up front, then in the boot i got 800wat audio forced amp with pioner 800wat 12 inch sub. also got a enzo…

Alright just bought it today and it turned up at the workshop an hour ago. Its a ke70 flat front with good body bit of rust, 173,000 kms, got at wreckers yesterday, bought it today, rego also ran out yesterday but i don't mind. I Recently bought a good condition ke70 Panel Van off of Queen20v. Its a 1290 cc 4k-c with a 4sp manual. Its fun and easy to drive. Paint is in very good condition apart from under the petrol cap - This will be resprayed soon. Engine runs well but need to replace uni joints as there is a knock. I put some simmons V4's on it the other day but unfortunately they are too wide at the front. So i am on the lookout for some japanese rims. Where can i get a hold on some jap wheels? Hello all, after having the corolla running for a few months its time to make the car look good! First of all ill be stripping it and then removing the rust patches out of the vehicle and then giving her a nice paint job! Not decided on what paint colour to give her but i am thinking of the XR8 Deepish Orange colour once the rust is removed and panel work is done then its onto the engine to rebuild the turbo!(Unless a WRX turbo comes in cheaper) Replace the camshaft with a standard one so the car can be tuned properly. 82 ke70 life story: it cost me 2 cartons of beer and was sitting in a padoc for a year, it was previously used as a bush basher but they obviosuly didnt give it a reall hard time, it still had a radator full of fluid and sump full of oil. got it going for a while but the fule pump was rooted and the tank was full of rust anyway, so we found a mitsubishi magna with a in tank pump and straped the tank in the boot and hooked up the lines. then the next drama, the roof was wobbling like shit, so we put some strapping over top which didnt help. so in the end we just screwed the roof to the roll cage. the roof supports iscracked in places and still makes a *** loud ra…

Well we have started on the re-shell today. first off was to get the rollcage out of the old body shell, off came the roof. 3 hours later we managed to remove the cage in 4 pieces.

3K began to chew oil, valve seals gone, bottom end barings gone, few other tiddley bits going pear shaped. Decided to send it to engine hospital and have a makeover. I know, a 3K is not worth it but it is something to waste money on. Step one. Took out the engine. Took half a day. Step two. Pulled every thing apart. Send bits off. Turned out two of the rear cylinders had absolutely NO water flow around them, totally cloged with crap. Good time to pull apart it would seem. The cam was absolutely hammered aswell. I have about a week off over Christmas I am hoping to complete a Car trailer project I thought it may be of interest as a project to a few of you. I started today cutting and tacking together the main frame.

i have finally acquired a car to work on. shes no beauty, but whats a project if it doesnt need a little work? plans are to do an engine conversion, convert to 5spd, respray and dress up and re-do the interior. it might take me a while to do but i love to tinker and i can't wait. i will probably start in the new year, once the christmas debts have cleared and the money starts to accrue again. i havent chosen a motor yet, I'm still deciding. had a few thoughts on colours (thinkin maybe a deep metallic red (not to burgundy though) probably off a current model new car). anyway, would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. cheers! kate

hey guys ive searched the forum and i havent stumbled onto anything like this so i want to get everyones thoughts on building a drift rolla. i've got a 25k budget and a blank canvas. so what would peoples advice be on which year corolla (i like the ones around 83-86), what engine (anything, v8, sr, ca, what ever will get me sliding), suspension, gear box. everything id need really from start to finish for a sweet drifting set up. or ultimately would a different car all together be better?
