a friend of mine is selling his 3t-gteu for $1000. i had a look at the motor last nite and i want to buy it the only thing is that it is spread out through about 3 sheds. up side is that it has all seals gasgets new pistons ECU everything including a spare Block and head minus internals. does this sound like a good price to pay.

hey guys, my clutch in my ke70 is slipping again. it is only the cable operated one, so there is no chance of hydraulic oil getting in onto the pressure pate or anything (as my trusty haynes manual explains). i adjusted the circlip in the engine bay and it was a good 4-5 grooves loose, but since then i can really really notice that the car revs are high, but the car is nuggeting along. another sign that its getting worse is that i use to be able to, when wet, give more revs and dump clutch a bit quicker and get light wheelspin. i don't really do many burnouts and crap, but g/b was changed prob a yr ago now, don't u think that the mechanic wuld have sed 'yeh clutch is …

here lyes the question? i have been told that i need to run the socks plus the trumpets (being a tuned length) on the webers, then i was told to piss them off and put the K & N filters (the ones that arnt cheap) on with the trumpets inside. my thought is to make an alloy air box up to bolt on the webers. thats the easy bit, my next thought is where is the inlet going to be? my first thought was put it straight out the front of the box and near a fresh air opening next to the radiator , but then the distance that the air has to travel is different to each carby. second thought is to put the inlet in the middle on the underside of the box and turn it 90 deg …

G'day fellas I've got a little problem with my KE55. Big problem actually. I've got a stock 4K-C and it's pissing petrol out of what I believe is the fuel pump. The part is on the line inbetween the fuel filter and the carby so i believe it is the fuel pump. It says "KYOSAN DENKI" on the top. It is little and round. It has a line coming out of it with two brass nuts on it, one large and one small. There is a significant amount of fuel pissing out of the top nut. What is wrong? Is this why I used 30L for 150km? How do i fix it? Do i need a new fuel pump? Cheers guys, you're great.

hey guys, well last night while i was out partying in the dark dad decided to go get some maccas, goin there the road under the bridge was flooded, but this usually isnt very deep, so through he goes, and half way across he says it stopped. long story short i asked him how high the water was and he says, ooh lapping up around the bonnet...."did you think of that cold air intake dad?" :) so this mornin he went down took the plugs out and turned her over pissing water all out of it, but she still wont start were assuming its left over water in the cylinders and intake wetting the spark so she wont start.... how do we fix this problem? how do we get her started again? …

Hi, Just wanting to know if you run a webber on a 4K motor that is bog stock will I need to also run a set of extractors? Also what will it take to fit the webber? Is it as simple as an adaptor plate? I was looking around at photos here but it seems there are a few types of webbers so what parts are needed for what type of webber? And last of all I am planing to put this 4K inot a KE30 rolla. After I install the webber will the pollution gear fit back on or how should I go about running the carbon canister etc? And if I can use the polution gear is it lefal to run a webber with out it in a KE30? Cameron

Delivering pizzas quite happily the other night. On the way back to the store from the last del of the night, engine starts to run rough, as if it was weak on one cylinder. I think, "Meh, probably just some carby bullshit. It'll fix itself." Get back to the store, less than one km, "Oh shit." What looks like smoke, coming in quite a copious fashion from the exhaust. So I surmise the worst, that the rings are f@$ked and a full rebuild is required. Baby it home, next day take a look. Do compression test, phew. Its all good. Look in radiator, it is sans coolant. Look at dipstick, it is covered in creamy sludge. Aaargh! The mysterious white cloud from exhaust was steam. So am…

hey hey, i know some one will ask eventually how to remove the pedal box so I'm going to write up a how to guide. Tools needed a decent socket set with metric sockets and spanners, Philips screw drivers and flat blade screw drivers and alot of patience. First off remove your steering wheel. You will need to remove the screws under and around the gauge cluster, the screws hold in the black plastic surround. Once that has been removed unscrew the 4 screws that hold in the gauge cluster and it will come out and remove all the plugs. Remove all the circled bolts and nuts. the two bolts along the top need to be removed the whole way along the dash pad. …

The grille, its too long. I can't just bolt up a sway bar because the floor has no threads The factory strut brace, I needed to buy bolts for the fire wall, no thread. Thats just a few on my list, Does/Can anyone help me before I lose the plot all together and just torch the thing. TOTALLY ANNOYED WITH THE WHOLE THING!!!

Hey guys, My dad and I recently installed a 32/36 DGAV Weber on the 4K as the old Aisan one that was on there had basically lost it's will to live. The carbie is working pretty damn nicely however we just encountered little problem and are unsure what is causing it. The problem is that after the car has been driven around for a while(5minutes or more)then turned off, it doesnt like to start up again straight away. (noticed when trying to start the car after stopping at the petrol station  ) You kinda have to let it sit a bit then try again. Once it finally starts, it gurgles for abit at about 300rpm then slowly rises to a normal idle(1000rpm). It seems as if…

Hey all Ok, so ive got another weird idea, lets see how QLD transport likes this one :doublebird: Ok, my idea is this. To what i know, the coldest air (when a vehicle is moving) - flows up over the bonnet, and spirals/curls around the bottom of the front windscreen. (top pic) Is it legal if you cut a hole large enough to fit a medium sized pod filter through the top of the fire wall - so that its in the area where the air is sucked in from the outside and into the cabin / where the mechanism is for the window washers (bottom pic) This way you can have a really short intake pipe, and it would be away from the hot exhaust :P

My i dear every since i have decide to run a SC14 (if i can find one  ) is to run a reversed FWD manifold. I have a TVIS big-port i got with the sprinter spare parts. How much restriction would the 'flutes' be. Its just the manifold, no butterfly's. Would the spacer cause any turbulence. Would it restrict air flow that much. Would there be any point in changing over them from the crappy RWD manifold? Because it seems that the Big port FWD non-TVIS are very rare :D ie only one bigport GZEs

Righty-o, I've had starter motor issues in the Camry for a little bit, am on my 2nd starter motor now and this one has decided it doesn't want to play either. Anyway, decided to take one of them apart and have a look: The first problem is when I turn the key, I hear the solonoid go "click", and the lights dim etc, which tells me that the starter motor is getting power. Except, it doesn't turn. Nothing happens, it just sits there. I can fix this by repeatedly clicking the key on and off, and eventually it'll catch on and start. Second problem is once the car is actually started. It won't disengage the starter motor! It's almost as if it gets stuck …

I have just about finished the 3k swap into my ke15 and am looking at the nect project. I purchased some late model celica gt wheels that are the 4x114.3 pattern and am trying to figure out what the easiest thing to do would be. Is there a different axle that I can swap in for the rear or should I just get rid of the celica wheels and go with the 4x110 pattern. The front seems to be an easy solution. What have you guys done on the rear?? Thanks in advance.

hey guys well my diff plug on my borg-warner (from ke55) must be cross-threaded coz it freespins when you try and undo it to top up the diff oil ... i guess my only option is the change the backing plate over to one where the diff plug isn't cross threaded ... is there any nacks with a corolla diff in changing this plate over? I just don't wanna start it and drain what oil is left in the diff, and find something out afterwards and not have the car on the road ... its dropped a bit of oil out of the diff, and i wanna top it up ASAP but can't ... grr Thanks for you help, dyzza
