ok so even with the cables wound right up, the handbrake doesnt really work at all and the levers come out way to far on the calipers, (they are not drum and shoe handbrake), just wondering if anyone knows how these are adjusted at the caliper, had a look and there is no plug like normal caliper handbrakes that you remove and adjust a bolt inside.

hey all. I noticed today that the fuel return line on my ke70 was bucketing out fuel. I havnt got a hose attached to it as the new carbs i have don't have a return line. Is there a way i can block it up? Or should i maybe put a double fuel pipe on the second carb and run a hose back to the return line? Any advice/help would be great

as some of you know ive put a 12a rotary in my rolla and have much work work to do. what your wounldnt know is that i work for defence/aps so i have nothing better to do then go on rolla club all day while getting paid. any way was thinking about my suspension. my car will not be a drift or tack car. just a fun streeter. so i was thinking of new(stock) front struts with super low king springs up front with new bushes and ball joints and every thing (still stock but). and reset leafs in the back with koni shocks. and new bushes. and white line sway bars. do people think this is enough? should handle better I'm sure

hey guys, long time reader first time poster. straight to the problem. my car started off with a miss early last week which has now gotten much worse to the point of it being undriveable. the problem is if i give it any less than 3/4 throttle the engine cuts off every second or so (it sounds similar to a bridgeported rotary engine). if i however give it more that 3/4 throttle then it revs as it should at 3/4 throttle. the 3/4 point to me felt like the opening of the secondarys in the carby so i replaced it- the problem still remains. The engine is stock but has no air filter and a very bad exhaust leak. Please let me know what you think some potenti…

Hi Just as a little bit of personal research, I'm looking for factory workshop manual descriptions of how to clean an air filter out during a vehicle service. Toyota workshop manuals would be brilliant to use, as I do work on a reasonable number of *j120r prado's, zze122r corollas, and lots of **v36 and **v40 camry's. I would also like any decriptions of how to change the brake fluid as part of a service, the correct procedure out of factory workshop manuals would also be good. Both the prado setups would be good, the pressurised nitrogen booster as well as the traditional vacuum booster. I know this is very very basic, but I'm just trying to find some solid defi…

So, today was time to clean the holes out... The manifold bolt holes (I have only 2 studs and the rest are 10mm bolts) then the head bolt holes. I have a bolt with a hacksawed slot down it that acts as a tap without actually cutting any metal, so when I could screw that fully in and out by hand I knew the threads were clean. There can be a lot of tarry shit and dirt down a hole that you just never see, but it can stop the bolt tensioning up on the head or manifold. It takes a few tries to get the slotted bolt in and out without filling the slots up with rubbish. I measured a headbolt height in the block and the head depth just to make sure that the bolt would pull …

Hey guys, got a problem with my 3k at idle (well i think its only at idle), basically i've rebuilt the motor about 2500km ago and just rebuilt the carby on sunday because of flat spots and hesistation and stuff. But even before the rebuild (of the carby) the engine doesn't seem to idle smooth at all, a mechanic said the 3k is a really smooth motor and can run down to 400rpm but mine barely does 800....the rebuild was completely stock (so no bigger cam or pistons) the only thing i can think of is the timing chain is 1 tooth out or something.....and when i say "i think its only at idle" i mean i don't think its producing as much power as it should and yes i know 1.2L is not…

decided to start pinky the to day and noticed that the was a fuel leak near No. 4 injector. the black rings that are on top the injector and sit against the fuel rail does it matter if the r broken or cracked? as they are like it but they others don't seem to leak. it seemed as though it was more of a mist or spray than actually dripping hence why i thought injector due to pressure. any other suggestions?

I have a ke30 2 door sedan with a jap diff. I was wanting to put a borg warner in it with stock rolla sway bar etc. I think its out of a ke55. Anyways to me the ke30 with the jap diffs seem a bit sloppy in the rear end. I think the ke30's ive had in the past with borg warner diffs seem to ride better. I know I'm going to have to drill holes for mounting the sway bar brackets that attach to the body. so here are my questions Are the leaf springs differant on the jap diffs compared to those on the Borg Warner? ( the later model KE's seem to have heavier leafs to me from memory) If so, will the later leaf springs fit in my 1975 ke30 2 door without modification to the…

Hey guys, Just woundering what the problem could be with my gearbox - its a ae71 with a 4ac and t50 gearbox? I was about give it abit of stick up a hill (hate hill starts anyways...) anyways i revved to about 3k and slowly let the clutch out... that was all good untill i went to go into 2nd, I put the clutch in, shifted into 2nd and let go of the clutch... then my car free revved - it was no longer in 'gear' ... so i rolled to a stop. i then tried to put it back into 1st to take off and nothing... so i tried all gears and nothing... so i then i though, stuff it! i wont use the clutch... and put it into first, no crunching, just slipped in and it seems like …

Hi, Trying to fit a set of shock absorbers to the rear of a KE15. I had an original shock absorber but threw it out so can't get this measurement so this is where I need all your help. I need to know the internal diameter of the bottom bushing sleeve (steel sleeve in bottom of shock absorber rubber bushing that connects to the diff) in a standard KE1X shock absorber? Reason is I need to find a suitable bushing with the right internal clearance for a ke1X bolt and that has the right external diameter for a rubber bushing that will fit the shock. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Cameron

Hay guys have an odd question for you ke30 owners were there any ke30s made with a straight steering connecting rod, thats the rod that connects to the steering box and idler arm, i have a ke55 manual and it shows a straight connecting rod, how ever in my 55 i have a offset rod, this is causing some issues with hitting so I'm trying to track down a straight rod that mite fix this issue, so does any one know ???? maybe the early ke30s had a straight rod??>>>?? what about the earlyer models ke20s or something >?????? any advice be apreciated getting stressed out here cheers

Given the inherent ploblem with the stock Aisan carby's running rich due to the floats, I have decided to go down draft Weber. The question is, which Weber (and jetting) best suits a stock 1.8 3Tc engine. Be mindfull, the aim is maintain factory econmy or better. Sadly performance takes second place... at the moment. :blinks:

Hello all  I recently decided that I might to lower my e12 a little bit to get the wheel arches nicely in line with the wheels and give my car a much better overall presence on the road. I am utterly confused.com by it all though to be honest with you! I understand that I need to buy lowering springs for my car and have already found a tonne of different ones online and quite like the look of some of the 35mm - 40mm ones (don't want to go craaaaaazy!) however my friend said that I may want to look and getting new shock absorbers too as the car will "inevitably bottom out and break the shocks". now I have no clue as to what I should be looking for here?!…

I was just wondering if it was any harder doing a 3s beams motor and box swap into one? What would i need to get 3s crossmembers to fit in or would need to get some made up. If anyones got any info on this please let me know cheers.

is the diff in a 78 hilux a RN41? and if it is how much would one be worth roughly with a noisy centre? id replace the centre with a g series lsd and use MA70 rear hub carriers, backing plates and brakes and would the brake booster fit a TA22? for an upgrade with the brakes?

How much is my car worth on the market? KE20 3k with total rebuild, bored, decked, pistons, EVERYTHING! thousands spent all recipts. Alpine stereo throughout with ipod plug, sub, amp and so on. 2nd owner with all recipts from original sale in '75'. 14" white mags. All original parts not fitted include wheels, carby, and a couple of interior parts to come with car. Note: has been badged ( bastards!) and needs a carby rebuild.
