G'day guys. I've got some widened steelies about to go on my ke10, they're datsun 1200 ute rims according to my mate. The centre-bore of the rim is bigger than a conventional ke70 etc centre cap, so i can't use them.. The bore is 67mm.. So my main question is does anyone have any idea of what Toyota centre caps would fit? As i want them looking kinda stock-ish And before it's mentioned i know i can get aftermarket mag wheel caps and just slap toyota logo's on them but that's really not what i'm after.. Any ideas? Cheers!

  6. So I have the ae92 heater outlet which i need to change. My question is about the two temperature sensors? in the heater outlet.. What are they for? ie one controls the radiator fan one does the ecu.. i dunno. why are there 2? can i remove one? pinched a link to photo below.. one green plug one brown. I would be eternally grateful if some guru could tell me: brown= x green= y engine will run fine without x... thanks in advance! http://i260.photobuc...ear_oultets.jpg running standard ecu and stripped harness.

  8. ok so I'm after some advice jst got my KE70 82model on the road fully stock wih 3 speed gearbox 1.3 ltr, as yous already know its slow and ive got a AE71 84 model manual thats not road worthy able. but i was thinking of puttin ae71 engine(1.6ltr) and the manual gearbox into my ke70, would this be easy enough with many mods or would parts and stuff woulda i have to change around????

  9. We pulled a strut out whle we were doing other things under there and popped the shock retaining nut off. It is a wet shock, not an insert, factory I assume, so it can be modified to any sort of bump or rebound we would like. However it will never be gas pressurised! The next retaining ring down in the strut has a flat top and 3mm two pin holes, so I assume there is a steel tube tool with two pins sticking out of it that unscrews that ring and allows the whole shaft and foot valve to be removed. Then we can redrill bleed valves or seal them up and change the oil.... Anyone got one for a KE70 or knows what they look like??

I am one step away from walking away from the corolla. To no end this car has given me grief. Some of the problems have been my own doing or things I have overlooked, other times it's plain BS! I decided to go back to standard configuration after the other 4k seized up only to be met by more motoring madness. The engine I got was from a running KE70 and still had all the bits and bobs bolted on including the manifolds. I did not want to take the manifolds off because I would have been making more work for myself, at least thats what I thought. Because the KE70 exhaust is slightly different I had to cut and weld a section to bolt to the rear half of the KE55 exhau…

hey guys, a few of RC people might know my TA22 build "voodoo ta22" as majority know aftermarket suspension parts etc for old school toyotas are a bit of a pain to find. i have stumbled across www.technotoytuning.com and they have a massive range for TA22 but my only question is has anybody used this company before or know of anyone who has etc before i go spending cash on stuff in the US. any advice/opinions good or bad highly appreciated. they also sell KE70, KE30, KE70 and various other early model Toyota, Datsun parts.

Hi,sorry if there is a lack of info but its not my project and there is a question from the owner. He has bought a ta22 celica which has come with parts of a 2t motor, its not complete but we do have an inlet manifold with twin carbs fitted.Question is will this manifold fit a 4age,he can get a 4age silver top for $500 with loom and computer included but he likes carbs so this is why we are asking.Any info appreciated, also if anyone knows of a good place in Melbourne to get ta22 parts, especially a drivers side guard and a rust repair/replacement section for the rear parcelshelf. Thanks.

I've looked through the Nikki carb guide and it does not mention anything about a certain part of the carby. On the underside of the carb, in between and off centre of the two throats there is a bolt with a hole going through the centre of it. It sort of looks like an port or source of vacuum for the carby. This bolt/hole looks the same as the one on the stock Aisan carb. The question is, what purpose does this have for the carby? The 4k carby mounting plate actually has a hole cut out for this port on the carby. Why this is of relevance to me is that to mount this carby you need to double stack the mounting plates. I am using a different mounting plate that…

I've got a problem at the moment with my car being way to loud it hurts your ears after driving. its 2 in system from the extractors back with a fairly short hot dog and then a fairly free flowing muffler on the back. i want to build a drop tip glass pack muffler like you would run on a rotary, the plan would be to make it fairly large, pack it with stainless steel wool and then muffler pack. I don't know if i will be going backwards with trying to get it quieter, i don't know how much just a standard muffler would restrict the system. it has shaved head, 32/36 weber, huge cam and so on. it moves a lot of air, so i don't really want to put on a stock type muffler to …

Hi all.. Well nearly sorted the 5k back together but tonight had a look to see while i had everything apart to maybe port the intake , match bla bla etc.. Its a 5k, 5k head, extractors are 4-2-1 ( dnt know brand) gasket is a Toyota product.. that metal one. (can get code if helps) I put the gasket onto the extractors to see how they line up and was surprised to see that the gasket ports were much smaller then the size of the actual extractor ports.. As an estimate like 2mm on each side. So not like the intake where I will probably need to take 2mm at the bottom but all round. The gasket lines up resonably well with the head ports and the intake ports... sooo I'…

  24. Hi all, Just did a transplant and put a 4ac into my 70. It runs great only problem is it's idling way too high. It starts up nicely and then slowly the revs get higher and higher, when you step on the throttle it will raise the revs and then they will not return the revs just keep getting higher. BTW I don't know anything about carby's. Also another interesting thing is that I converted the 4ac from auto to manual and so it had like an auto choke linkage, when I move the auto choke mechanism thing it seems to make a diffeence in how the throttle butterfly thing opens and closes, when I don't touch it the buttlerfly doesnt fully return and the butterfly stays …

I need to mount my Carb approved Weber to my 2tc manifolt since my kit diddnt come with an adapter, and I can't seem to find one the right size. I can do this in 2 different ways. I can create a spacer out of some 6011 aluminum. I have a stick of .75”x3”x12'. The other way would be using a spare intake I have from a 78 and hogging out the inside where the carb normally bolts to, and inserting a square (that bolts to carb) then welding. Well look at my ridiculous paint diagram and pics. Shaded cut out is of the weber carb's base. The hard way. don't Laugh!: or The spacer: Which way would you do it? And why?

so i bought a whiteline swaybar for my ke17.. annd it fouls on my brake calipers so i had it shortened.. as in cut a chunk out of the middle n then re-welded it. now I'm getting mixed reactions..some say it needs to be heat treat it, lost its strength etc.. and some are saying it will be okay to chuck it on... opinions.. ? think ill chuck it tomorrow, see how we go? cheers amar

  31. hey I'm doing a 4age into ke70 conversion, will put up pics and story when i start but for now just wondering if anyone else has used this particular bellhousing,if they had any probs and if they are worth the $700 price tab,

  32. Started by crunk81us,

So I have installed a 4age with jdm t40 bellhousing & ta22 t50 into my ke20. I have installed the clutch master from ta22, and the slave cylinder from the original 4age fwd box. it is sort of working in so much that i push the pedal and the slave cylinder moves.. but not enough.. it needs to travel at least double the amount it is currently travelling to disengage clutch properly. looking at the adm ta22 slave cylinder it is smaller in length to the fwd one i have used, so i am assuming (because i have never really worked on hydro clutch before) that my master cylinder is too small to push the slave cylinder far enough. Is that likely? I really wou…

Hi, Have been having trouble with my girlfriends ra40 stalling. It's an automatic and at first the problem started happening in gear when stopped, so I thought brake master cylinder, vacuums or torque converter. But checked all the vacuum lines and they seem fine, replaced o ring on master cylinder so that's not leaking or anything. But now its started stalling in neutral too, it's not idling at all anymore. Thinking carby or something could be the problem but not sure. Just after any tips. Cheers, Jake

Hi I'm Ben and I'm here because I'm a Corolla-holic. Recently I bought a KE35 Hardtop from Ipswich spare parts. What Ive done sofar is put an engine and gearbox in and got some Cheviot wheels. Everything went well until I tried to put the wheels on the back (the fitted on the front). I measured the rear stud pattern and found that it is 4x110 (what the ke1x/2x rollas had I think). It has a borg-warner diff. I want to use my wheels (at least eventually) and get my car on the road soon. I was thinking that I would get the roadworthy on 4x110 steelies if I can find any, and then do something about the stud pattern. What are my options here? stud pattern adaptors? ke30 ax…

  37. Since we were deprived of ever getting these cool 2dr wagons in North America, can someone verify if the doors are interchangeable? I'm getting an 83 wagon and an 82 2dr sedan parts car soon and really want to make my own 2dr wagon! It makes no sense that Toyota would make different doors for these models so hopefully my dream build isn't a wash. Much thanks!

Hey guys i have a spare 16v and 20v motor lying around minus 20v head, and plan on doing a twin carbed conversion with the 16v,however because i have looked at the 16v motor warrant sheet it failed on a few of things for the motor (excessive smoke and whatnot) and my mate being an engine rebuilder would the the 16v head bolt straight up to the 20v block or is there little variations.my mate says if the 16v block has to be used it will cost a lot more as the 20v motor was my sisters and it was the oil rings that let go only.any help with this would be much appreciated thanks.

  40. I'm having issues with my idle, it's jumping around between 600 and 1000 rpm all new plugs, dizzy, leads, coil, points, rotor, reconditioned carby about 8000 kms ago. What would be causing it?? Would it be vacuum related? By the way it's a 1978 ke55 4kc with a 5 speed And after market air filter and I changed the oil/filter about an hour ago no difference
