  1. Someone will probably mention stretched tyres at some point, its a way to run big dish on rims and still clear the guards but works more in independent suspension motions than live axle motions. Theres different degrees of doing it from mild to wild but there's disadvantages as well which are heavily debated from both sides.
  2. You will find that the tyres are probably wider than the rims so you could run different tyres but seeing since they are on there the next best bet is probably to roll the guards with a small amount of pump out, you can buy a guard roller for around $150 and watch diy tutorials on youtube or pay $50 a corner drive in drive out deal but theres no guarantee the paint wont flake chip its just how it is with rolling.
  3. Mount a drop link extension further up on the pillar.
  4. Yeah not sure how many solex parts still exist but rodger is the man to ask.
  5. Yeah twin side drafts = delete vac advance + recurve mech advance.
  6. Very nice! Should make it out there on the weekend.
  7. Best is to cut and weld that degree of rust, next option for less rust would be media blast and seal, then lastly for surface rust can wire brush & use a chemical remover/converter but must be careful with the product selection and application.
  8. I doubt it. Ke2x parts are the same, so keep a look out for the more common ke20.
  9. What about an airbox setup with a filter on the end?
  10. Yeah thats on the money there dave.
  11. Weight, lsd type and brakes should also be considered... its all part of what diff conversions are about :)
  12. Theres 3 ways to change camber, at the top, at the middle or at the bottom. Equal headache for less supported cars. Top = cambertop / coilover conversion as std spring diameter hits inside of tower. Middle = Bend stub axle or notch, reangle and reweld strut tube to axle stub. Lower = LCA conversion with track increase (legalities) and swaybar / radius rod fitament. All have pros and cons regarding suspension overall or legalities.
  13. Honestly its worth getting a good trolley jack, the cheap ones fail with bad results like the $30 supercheap one I had years ago. The small cheapies are so unstable its not funny and the pad section is tiny. $200 or so should sort one out from tradetools, I have the omega one and its like night and day compared to the old one.
  14. Ah man love the details in the swap! A 3tc to 5mge though, wow that's the most absurd swap out! Did you consider modifying the 3tc at all... just out of interest?
  15. Tuned is the only way to go, but custom made can be expensive.
  16. The ae86 swap is known to add to this issue, so camber tops are needed to adjust the camber back to factory or further to zero or - 1 deg if you have enough space inside the tower... Not much chance with factory springs, need to convert to smaller OD coilover springs.
  17. Good work as usual, also like to add brake spring pliers are a very useful tool to save knuckles... also new cylinders and a drum brake spoon to adjust the lash externally can be handy :)
  18. In original condition - a few hundred to a few grand, in your case a few grand if modified well. Keep it and enjoy it. - x2
  19. Good work altezzaclub, great to see so much detail in your writeups :)
  20. Take the the old ones to someone with a superpro database and cross reference the dimensions, then some machining later... voila!
  21. ke11 is going to be harder to get parts for in the future but ke35's still have a fair way to go before parts get difficult... ke11 styling is just awesome but they are a bit average suspension wise, ke35 looks good but has better running gear.
  22. Original but worn interior, otherwise complete including motor. Mostly good panels, paint, factory mag wheels and all glass there. Haven't seen many half decent rollas at wreckers for the last few years so thought I'd throw this up there before it gets crushed...
  23. One trick is to mix and match for a while and feel the joins and fit by hand if you have the magic touch, seeing since two swedish ladies just walked in for a 3 way this should pose no problem!
  24. I think the weight was 756kg for ke25 in the qld code of practice for heaviest model (auto) not including wagons. Also careful with hybrid builds, you must use the later 2tg block as its a bolt in affair with the 3t crank and pistons. Earlier blocks require some serious work with the die grinder inside to clearance the rotating assembly.
  25. Something to add is if you need a professional to do something for you, shop around and find someone that has a little bit of time to have a chat about it and that has some pride in their work. Even better rather than present a problem, spend your own time on a proposed solution especially if its not a normal sort of job. Be prepared to jackie chan if you don't do the above!
