Hey guys!! When i'm going to start up the car it tries to turn over once, very unenthusiastically, and then when olding the ignition on produces a steady clicking noise. All ive done today is take my carby off, retighten all the bolts to ensure there is no vacuum leak, and refit it. Once refitted the car ran fine....but now not at all!!... It's not like the clicking i heard when my Daihatsu charade starter motor went, bit slower.... Thanks for any help

Hi Everyone, Well I've been trying to get this car up to scratch for a roadworthy and needed to change the gearbox in it because it simply needed changing. What my problem is now is the clutch doesn't seem to be fully disengaging when the clutch pedal is all the way down. When I try to put it into gear it is always hard to do so and reverse grinds horribly until it's "in" gear.. The strange thing is, when I let go of the pedal the friction point is around half-way through pedal movement rather than right at the floor. ALL of the gears are hard to push into gear. We've tried adjusting the clutch cable to give us maximum clutch disengagement but doesn't seem…

Hey all just wondering what power outputs have people had going through a T50 and open wheeler T series diff before they ran into issues? or roughly what the limits would be.

I've done a search, but I can't find an answer for why. FAQ says they're not actually that good, but why do people do it then? Is there power gain? Surely a 3k head wouldn't be stronger? Any info or links much appreciated! cheers, toby

alright guys so i have a ke20 with a 5k! and I'm having a problem of burning out the points and it is throwing the timing out of wack! its been tested and the alternator is charging the battery at 16.8V? ive been told there is a way to adjust the alternator has anyone done this and can they give me some help? I want to get it fixed so i don't keep burning out points so any advice would be awesome :)

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows anything about 2-stroke motors, or more precisely scooter motors. I have a Bolwell scooter and have fitted a 70cc big bore kit and an exhaust, the problem is that it goes really nice when it's first started but after about 5-10 mintues it just doesn't want to idle. Come to a stop, let it idle, and it just dies. I have to rev it to keep it going, but it idles heaps smooth just after starting. Can anyone help? Cheers in advance Jono

Hey. I was just wondering if anyone else has any ideas on why my car would be overheating? Car: 1993 Toyota Corolla CSI Limited. It overheats in about 5 minutes doing 60km/h. And the overflow spurts the coolant and water everywhere... I know it's not the thermostat and the radiator and hoses aren't leaking any coolant or water. Thanks.

Hi All, I'm about to buy some new extractors for a 5k i have in a ke20. Currently running the sprinter twin outlet cast header with what i think is about a 1.75 inch system with a straight through muffler. Weber's ( Thinking 40mm twins ) on their way possibly so it looks like exhaust time as my manifold ( from memory, it was a long time ago ) has the hole in the centre of it opening up onto the bottom of the inlet manifold. Mild 5k, can't remember cam grind ( it was 19 years ago after all ) , ports in head were opened up a bit, valves redone, engine had a balance / blueprint etc, nothing hardcore at all. hey guys my back left break was locking up so i took it to torque tyres to fix it got new cylinders for the drums and now when i push the breaks i have no power and there no noise so i was wounding if you guys would know whats wrong? i was thinking maybe the didn't bleed them probably but i have a feeling i might need a new break booster and master cylinder it seems like i can never win with this car

Trying to put stereo into ke30, people who owned the car before me messed up the wiring so i have no idea what to hook the power supply on the sony stereo to? Should i just wire it to the battery or is there a better way?

I was driving home tonight and as i was driving home i pulled into maccas to get something to eat. Everything seemed fine but as i was waiting for my food in the drive through all my lights started to flicker ( like dim then go back to full power, dim then full power, etc)... I am currently looking at a set of rims for my ke11 and I cannot decide if I should go 14" x 6.5" on front, or 15" x 6.5" then on the rear 14" x 7.5" or 15" x 7.5" If you look at the pictures below I have plenty of room to spare if I get the inside of the guards professionally rolled there should be plenty of room and that is the height it will be staying. I will also be keeping the original rims and tyres for those odd occasions :cool: . has anyone ever seen a sunroof in a ke70 at all? becuase the ke70 ive got has one in it. oval in shape and I'm not sure if its stock or someone has decided to put it in.

Hey guys, After much stuffing around and alot of fallen through ECU purchases because most people who advertise shit don't bother responding or putting the correct contact information up, I have finally got the car to fire up and actually hold rpm. Unfortunately It's not holding idle speed. A few things come to mind, throttle gap on the butterfly, air idle bypass screw, injector opening time. So, what gap should I set on the butterfly? Should I set the idle air screw halfway and go from there? another issue that I thought I had down pat was fueling. Apparently not. Hey guys, as most of you know I have recently completed a changeover to EFI. The only failure was to have ignition control. Thus I have not attached my supercharger fearing I would blow the motor without adequate ignition timing. So my question is, what is safe timing for something like 5psi??? Do I really need to worry for something so mild?? As far as I know the 5k electronic dizzy has little advance in it anyway. Would it be safe to supercharge in my situation without changing ignition timing?

Question: I recently picked up a 3tc powered t18, and have installed a single side draft manifold and a dellorto dhla 45. There is quite a lot of vacuum garbage that is no longer needed however i would like to retain the vacuum advance. the dellorto does not have vacuum anywhere on it. i have hooked up the brake vacuum to the manifold. am i able to t piece the brake booster vac for the dizzy? or is that a bad idea? can i just tap into one of the manifold runners and run v…

hey ive come across a toyota 5R engine as fair as i no its a 2 litre and came out off a toyota dyna. and anything else anyone knows will be greatly appreciated. I'm wanting a lower ratio diff for my KE50 caus I live in the country and basically 1st gear is pointless and 5th is still sitting around the 4k mark at 110, so I was hoping there might be a lower ratio diff alternative - presumably out of a KE55 Auto? I recently done some work to my 4k. I got the head shaved down so compression is at 10.1 i think And had the oringinal cam reground but can't remember specs and got extractors with 2 and 1/2 inch exhaust but with stock carby. And I'm about to slap a sc14 supercharger on it and is wondering if anyone can tell me if it will just go pop or will it last? Please need some help?

Hey guys, just having some issues with my front left window. Basically my window winds down, and it also winds back up but it only goes about 4 5ths of the way up and then it just stops and when you wind it just makes odd noises slightly like its grinding or what ever. Has anyone had a similar issues? If so post below with how you fixed the issue.. Thought I'd write a quick *cough* article on headlight upgrades for most older cars, seeing since the stock lights are pretty poor and are definately worthy of an upgrade by now. There are some things to understand and take note of. Will add pics at some point as I find them... Most older cars will have what is known as a sealed beam headlight which is basically a huge one piece bulb with a dual filament inside for high and low beam and its a throw away item. Ok so the 4AGE I bought had no exhaust manifold and no bolts or nuts for it. So here is the dilemma I bought some high tensile M10 x 1.25 35mm (or 45mm can't remember of the top of my head I can check though). Will those do the job? The nuts thread on fine. But the bolts are quite firm. ei can barely be twisted by hand. I am shit scared of snapping them in the block! Is their something I can do to make it a bit easier/safer? Many thanks!

Hey guys, I have a K50 5 speed that is missing the shifter assembly. Unfortunately I am having a dog of a time trying to find one anywhere. I have found a wreckers in SA that has a shifter assembly to suit a T50 (from a KE70) and wanted to see if anyone knew if these were able to be used on a K50 box. I have searched all over the web for answers and can not get a definitive yes or no. Found a tonne of forums where people have wanted to fit a KE70 short shifter to a k50 or similar and have speculated that it looks like it might work and they were going to try "this weekend" but they never came back to say if it did or not. Hey, I'm kinda new to this corolla stuff. Just got an 81 corolla 1.8 and the rear end is making a bearing noise. So I'm looking to rebuild it but I can't seem to find a place where I can get parts. Hey there, I've got a TA22 that I'm upgrading the brakes on (4 pot hilux calipers and XT struts!). To make these work I've also got a mitsubishi starion mastercylinder. Unfortunately the master cylinders reservoir is in the way of the vacuum hose. anyone have any smart ideas? is it possible to buy a valve with an outlet on a 90 degree bend? Hi there I'm stuck on what I'm going to put in my ke70 I wanna put ether a 4age in or ca18 but depends what ones easier I know its not going to be just put it in wire it up n go but I just want to know what you have to do to put ca18 in and what you have to do to put 4age in

If decided to bike carb my 4k because at the end of the day its just a ke70 if I wanted power I would of got a different car with a quick motor not relying on a motor swap. So just asking people who have done it before what do I need? What carbs should I get? Seen r1 used alot I can get a custom manifold made for super cheap. Will my accelerator cable work or will it have to be custom or something? Cheers in advance

-while it obviously isn't under the bonnet. So the 4AGE sensor doesn't suit the KE70 tacho dash resistance, which means the AE71 dashes must be different to KE70s... I'll solve it over the next week, but I wondered if anyone had come across this. You fit the 4AGE and the temp gauge never goes up to the 1/3 mark. The radiator water is at 80+ degrees acccording to a thermometer.

Hey guys, I have a car i'm getting through rego and the diff is leaking between the housing and where the centre mates (Banjo diff) Basically i'm wondering if anyone knows of any sealant i can use as a temporary measure to pass pits and stop/ slow the leak? It only needs to be a temporary fix as once i can drive it i'll be putting it on a friends hoist and fixing it properly. Was wondering how sump sealer would go? Any ideas would be sweet, Cheers
