hey i just lurked the first 10 pages of tech forums and couldnt find what i wanna know so here goes... firstly, I'm gonna put coilovers in the ae71, I'm thinking s13, with s13 brakes...as I'm a nissan boy :( what is involved, IE: control arms changes and what not?? and is it au falcon springs with now shorter shockers for the rear? second, the diff, will be welded i guess, needs to be disc break rear and keep same stud pattern. what should i use, T-series diff?? if so what has to be changed to put it in?? also will the falcon springs still work with that diff?? will neede to be able to support ca18det amount of power also any help will be awesome thanks…

hey guys, i have hooked up my 2" straight threw with one muffler, but I'm looking to upgrade to 2.5" i want it to sound nice and deep and not really raspy like little engine with big exhausts, should i go for a resonator and cannon style thing or a box muffler or something different, i want to achieve a deep note like what you might hear on some skylines and ditch the poo sounding t motor noise buy the way tis is on a turbo 2t motor

For starters, there are a lot of people in the "Bigger is Better" camp. We're talking about exhaust pipe diameters. hey guys, i just pulled down two 4k's that i got given, one from a ke70 van, one from a sedan, the one in the van had flat top pistons and a head with deeper valve areas than that of the sedan motor. are the flat tops standard or are they forgies and some one has put a different head on it. check my pics, first 3 pics are the flat tops head, last three are the other. also the ends of the head are different, one has a cap with 4 bolts. is it possibly a 3k bigport head? thanks

hi am just wondering about lowering the front end of my ke10. it has a macpherson strut set up with a tranverse leaf spring. I have been told different things about lowering it. question is do i need to get a new transverse leaf spring made up or will it go low enough if i just change the coils to 40 mm lowered. i was told the transverse may not allow the front to rest down enough , hence meaning the coils maybe loose on the macpherson strut where they seat . is this true and has anyone out there lowered theres. And i don't mean lowering it by chopping the springs or removing the leaf spring and throwing it away . i lost a mate in a car with chopped springs wa…

Hey hey, I'm having some problems with the 3k in my KE30 and I'm not sure what to do. All I've done after buying the car is: Oil/oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the spark plugs and run out off fuel on the way to work :D run some fuel system cleaner through it but got no love. Anyway, when I drive it to work now (40 min's on highway@110) all goes well until I hit the 60km zone (5min's from work) I seem to be loosing the primary and have to drive it on the secondary (flat to the floor) push the accelerator halfway down and nothing happens then bam!!! off she goes, kinda, sorta. 3 corners later and I make it to work, car dies in car park, I g…

ok guys ive got a ke38 p/van with a 4afte, thats a 4afe with a turbo fitted not a 4efte. any way i wana upgrade cause i no the 4afe has sh!t internals i got my hands on a 4age out of an ae82 i believe this is a big port motor?. and now to my question which is the best motor to turbo the big port the small port or the GZE also reasonings as to why they are better/different would be great thanks Duggy

Hi all, don't reeaaallly know if this is the place to post this, but i was just wondering if anyone has ever made their own flares for their gaurds, as it is a mission to try get hold of them in nz, i thouigh i could custom make some alloy ones or make polystyrene moulds and make fibre glass ones. any help appreciated, or if someone knows where to buy them in nz?? chhers all Jono.

Hey guys, just wondering whether anyone knows what car this radiator is from? Reason is, that my car has had a 4age conversion and a larger radiator installed, complete with custom mounts welded in. For simplicity reasons i would like to identify it in order to get a new one (old one is leaky). Here are some pics. I can take more if needed! Hey guys, I'm currently revising some of the info in the FAQ in regards to the K-T50 gearbox options. All I want to know is: Does a T18 T50 gearbox have a 20 spline output like a TA22, or a 22 spline like an AE71/AE86???? Would like an answer asap so I can include it! :dance: Cheers, Si.

hey guys I'm building a 1ggte ke70 and its obvious the stock diff will not handle the power I'm just gonna save my self the hassle now and get onto the diff, i have been looking around a bit and r31 sound like it could be a goer i don't want to break the bank i just want something thats pretty easy to convert over to.

Hi All I have been offered a fwd '96 Trueno with a 4age for $500 is it worth getting this nd ripping the motor out to put in my 30 ?? what extra parts will I need, any Ideas of the overall cost. I know I will need mounts and gearbox. I am pretty sure its a bzg trueno with a blacktop.

will a ke70 5 speed fit a 4ac motor

Hey guys. My weber's accelerator mechanism is sticking... Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator, it (accelerator thing at weber end of cable) gets all sticky and I have to kinda kick it and give it revs for it to become unstuck... as you can imagine I look like a complete tool revving at traffic lights and everytime I stop, and it's making driving not fun at all... can anyone suggest a way to fix this? I went and wasted $10 on wd40 since I wasn't at home and it didn't fix it at all... Cheers. Edit: Should mention that this is a reconditioned carby and hasn't been on my long enough to succumb to wear/crap inside it.

another question for you guys, with the 4a-fe,4a-ge and 20 v twin cam engines ,are you able to fit a after market adjustble fuel regulator ??? will it help much in perf/tuning ?? and where would you fit in the engine bay ?? this is to suit a ae-92 / 94 rolla btw. cheers glen

Hey friends, I recently bought Queen20v's ke70 panel van. Today i tried on some Simmons V4's 16" that came off my brothers car rx7. I got them all on and then reversed out of the driveway only to find that they scrub on the front shocks. I drove back into the driveway and began taking them off from the front. I got to the rear left wheel. Took all bolts off but i can't get the bloody wheel off. No matter how hard i pull it doesn't budge. I hit the back of the tyre with a mallet but was a bit hesitant because i am only using a stock jack... Can anyone assist me with this problem? Much appreciated, Will

G'day all, I own a 1980 ke55 square headlight model, and I want to put some mags on it. So I would like to know which mags will bolt straight on without any modifications or interfearence to the suspension. :dance: I was thinking about early supra mags, something that looks tough. hey just been helpin a mate build up a 4k for his ke20 got it all running but its got factory twin carbs on it and wont idle. it runs sweet above idle but no matter what we do we can't get it to idle by itself. i checked fuel pressure it was at about 3 psi is this enough for the factory twin carbs or do they have more ? Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers Phil

when you Polish stuff like thermostat housing, rocker cover and wiper motor.... how do you stop it going dull ( alloy) and more importantly , rusting ( wiper motor and little metal blocker plate things.. any help would be much appreciated.. :bash:

Hi, I'm after some genuine advice regarding my 20valve. Ever since i bought the car, i've had idle problems. When its cold, it idles good, but when it gets warm the idles keep playing up. When i stop on lights the car sounds like its goin to turn off, but sometimes itll slowly make its way up back to 900 rpm, and idle good. Ive done a full service including leads, iridium plugs, filters, changed TPS, changed the computer (stock 20valve) and i've still had no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem or knows their 20valves well enough to help me out? Thanks.

Hey everyone bought a ke70 not long ago now the exhaust it c**t and she blows a lil smoke what could it be??? i was gonna get a new exhaust but i like the sound lol.. yeah so why would it be blowing smoke? not alot ov smoke and not very visible but it smells.. the motor is low ks so yeah if she blows in comes the sr20 but just wondering why?

I would like to change the stud pattern on the rear of my ke10 to 114.3. Wondering if I could use a bench drill and an accurate ruler or vernier calipers to measure 4x 114.3 and re-drill the axles and fit new studs? I have a spare set I can practice on but is this a big no no for any particular reason? I realize the rim has to sit perfectly flush on the hub so accuracy of the stud holes position and straightness of the studs is of the upmost importance.

Hey I need to know what year the 2 speed auto (toyoglide) was last put in a KE20 SE 2 door sedan when new? if anyone knows or might know please let me know what you think. i bought a KE20 SE 2 speed auto but i don't know what year its is for sure, it has no compliance plates and no way of knowing what year it was made. Had a power run done on my car,the final result was 127.5kw@185km in forth gear. my first question is why doesn't it tell me what rpm it was at when that figure was made. what sort of power should i be making. Hey guys, I am looking for another, better diff for my AE71 wagon (leaf-spings). I have done a fair bit of searching, and it looks like an F series from a RT 104 Corona might be the best option. It looks like it will have the right stud pattern (4x114.3) and the right suspension mounts (leaf springs), but I can't find what width it is. Does anyone know?

well folks i have a tech Q for you tech heads. wasnt exactly sure where to put it so i chose general mechanical. anyway. the details: ke70 poorolla standard jap 4age jap ecu standard jap exhaust manifold and secondaries. 2.25" pipes all the way, over diff rest of exhaust system : high flow cat convertor 2 straight through mufflers, one just before the diff, and one after. i belive they are both the same "huricane". ok the problem: my original exhaust i had a "resonator" where one of the straight through mufflers is now. the problem was it was just to loud for my liking. it was ok when you wanted to have fun. but listening to music was a no…
