Hi, Just yesterday I got a full fairly new exhaust system for my KE15. All the system fits APART from the exhaust mani that bolts to the head. After stripping it back today to bare metal and painting it I noticed the heat exchanger box on the KE10 mani has the 2 bolts towards the cylinder head and the single bolt towards the wheel side of the car. And this manifold is off AE70's KE10 so it is an original manifold. So did some early KE1X manifolds have the heat exchanger box bolt pattern backwards? As Most normal corolla K exhaust manifolds have the single bolt on the cyclinder head side and the 2 other bolts on the wheel side. So in effect the bolt pattern is …

hello everybody, I have searched and have read the suspension on the wiki but could not find any( i dunno if I've used the search correctly) So here is the question, Can I fit ke1x front suspension springs on my Ke30? i have spare Ke1x springs and I would like to raise my Ke30 a few inches because its the rainy season here in the Philippines, lots of flooded streets and everything. If there is a topic about this previously, I'm sorry for posting, just reply with the link. Thanks again.

Hi, Was going to replace my KE15 glove box the other day with a new one I had for it. Went to remove the original KE15 one and noticed this: The elastic mount int eh top. Looks like it has been there since new. Can anyone confirm if it was and if they are original what went there? As my other original box has no elastic in it at all. Cameron

Hi, Well Today I got bored so decided to work on the sprinter. I decided to install my newly obtained heater controls with good unsnapped control arms. But before Installing it I decided to rebuild it to make it like new  Below is a rough guide on how to do it and what mine looked like before and after doing this. 1. I have a few consoles so start with your best one. 2. Strip it back to raw metal. Use sand paper or grit blast or acid it is your choice. I used a grit blaster to get bare metal. There was some surface rust on the item take this off. Below is a half way shot of the part sitting on a spare gear box. Notice the rust on the right. This was…

  6. Hi RC, Been mucking around with my sprinter lately and been wanting to get back into tinkering with it since moving house. Now my suspension in my KE15 is mmmm seen better days front end bottoms out shocks dead etc. Rear I have standard leaf springs and TRD 8 way shocks set on about 3 atm. Now I was in at road and Track in Ipswich yesterday and started looking at a KE17 that is in the shop atm that is being prepped for circuit racing. Eventually I want to do some track days in the KE15 then just have it as weekend fun car. So I'm looking into doing suspension. Now Terry at road and track said for the KE17 circuit car they softened the rea…

  7. Hi, Trying to fit a set of shock absorbers to the rear of a KE15. I had an original shock absorber but threw it out so can't get this measurement so this is where I need all your help. I need to know the internal diameter of the bottom bushing sleeve (steel sleeve in bottom of shock absorber rubber bushing that connects to the diff) in a standard KE1X shock absorber? Reason is I need to find a suitable bushing with the right internal clearance for a ke1X bolt and that has the right external diameter for a rubber bushing that will fit the shock. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Cameron

  8. Hi, On my KE15 I purchased a set of real pacemaker extractors  These extractors are the same for every KE1X model so they SHOULD bolt straight on. well not quite :bash: I found when bolted on they didnt sit flush. Upon investigating I found the cylinder 1 runner hit my starter motor. Now KE1X starter motors the solenoid sticks out away from the motor. See pic below: (I cracked the back of the solenoid this is not from heat..LOL) These starters are also heavy and have less power than the later model starters so it is a good thing to change them. These have 0.6KW. Later models have 0.8 KW. Now if you run a later model gear box in your KE1X or KE2X t…

hey checked the ke25 swaybar and it seems to be about 17mm or so which is pretty small diameter, now the ke30 swaybar at 18mm? and late ke55 swaybar at 20mm? are both thicker, but can they be fitted or modified to fit to the ke25? or has anyone used another stock swaybar successfully? whiteline have a 20mm one and a 24mm one (overkill) both at about $220ea, but if a later ke model rolla swaybar fits it would save some cash...

  17. So my poor stock struts are having issues coping with the added weight of the 4age, and the abuse I hand it at events. I currently have lowered kings in it. I'm looking at doing a coilover sleeve kit, but don't know what spring rate to go for. Not even the slightest idea.. 5 kg? 7kg? 8kg? I don't know what the current springs are rated at so I can't even make a guess. Anyone have some idea?

Hi.. I'm new to the site so sorry if I ask a few questions that have been asked over and over. I know that in the FAQ it mentions a little bit about interchangeable gearboxes. Ive got a KE20 with a 4K engine and have just got myself a 5speed box out of a ke70. I understand that there were two different 5 speed gearboxes brought out in the ke70, so do both go in fine, and what troubles may I have other then having to cut a hole in the tunnel to fit the gear lever.. Also if the ke70 box has the same spline as my 4k, is it true that the fly wheels out of the ke70's were lighter.. Cheers

been looking around and can't seem to find out if some ke20's come out with the borg diff? because i was going to change to a 120y diff like pauls 3tgte red rocket, ie a 6inch borg warner that pretty much bolts in. but if i can get one from a ke20 it will be 100% bolt in... thats until i have to upgrade, damn you 3tgte!

I have recently purchased a 1974 ke20 and am looking to change the stud pattern... I am not knowledgeable about diffs, brakes and axels but hopely you guys can clear a few things up... Q.1 - If i were to get ke70 axels and brakes, will they slot straight into my existing diff? Q.2 - (don't judge me) - but rear ke70 axels are discs right? Q.3 - Spacers - I know they give you wider tyres but do/can they change your stud pattern (4x100 pcd to 4x114.3 pcd) ? Q.4 - Can i change the whole rear end (diff, axle and brakes) from a ke70 into a ke20 with no dramas? I would appreciate all help and knowledge, Thankyou Will

Hey guys, ive been trying to get Ke20 struts into my Ke10, ive tried using Ke20 balljoints in the Ke10 control arm, had all that bolted up no worries. Only problem is getting an outer tie rod to fit the Ke20 steering arm. Ive tried putting the whole Ke20 draglink, idler, pitman and tierods in. The drag link and inner tie rods hit the Ke10 crossmember. Only thing I can think to do is use the Ke20 crossmember but how do I mount the radius rod mounts? Ive seen them welded but I'm reluctant to do so because the thing is overrated and nearly 40yrs old. Any help appreciated! Cheers

Hi, I have a 74 ke20 which i hope to run in group Nc as a run on. As the cut off it 72 but they allow models which where first manufactured within the specified dates (before 72.) What i am wondering is what cosmetic differences there is from the early ke20 to the late ke20 and in what year (and month if someone knows the specifics) they changed. It would be of great benifit to me if there was a model the same as my 74 manufatured before the 31st december 1972. Any help would be great. Cheers Andrew

Weber's ( Thinking 40mm twins ) on their way possibly so it looks like exhaust time as my manifold ( from memory, it was a long time ago ) has the hole in the centre of it opening up onto the bottom of the inlet manifold. Mild 5k, can't remember cam grind ( it was 19 years ago after all ) , ports in head were opened up a bit, valves redone, engine had a balance / blueprint etc, nothing hardcore at all. So after years of suffering a bodgey fuel gauge I'm over it. There's an issue with the circuit I believe bug cannot pin point it. It works but only half of what it's supposed to. When the tank is full it reads half. It worked properly for a few days when I had a bad earth connection from the loom to the chassis but my head lights didn't work. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? Just before I commit to an auto electrician. Also the battery light comes on if I turn on the heater blower. Could these be relAted?
