hey guys and gals, thought i would introduce my car to the forum.. some specs: engine: it did have a 4age in it. it has a 4agze now that i've almost finished converting. just a few wiring gremlins but other than that its basically done. it did have a rebuilt motor as i spun number 1 big end. luckily for me it wasn't damaged too bad so i got it all machined up, head rebuilt etc. unfortunately i used an ACL head gasket and not even 10 000km's later it split. so i ordered me a genuine head gasket and some ARP head studs.then about 9 months later i got bored of the bigport and decided to get an ae101 halfcut. gearbox: e58 LSD with Exedy heavy duty clutch. mac…

Long story short. Bought this corolla of an old man about 5 years ago for 1400 bucks. Drove it stock for a while then got sick of monster truck height so lopped the springs and got defected. Got off defect after about a month of getting it to regency spec and slowly its getting towards exactly the way I want it. Ive got a 180 for a daily so this is now mainly track car undefected so it can be walk in rego'd. Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forums, only made a couple of posts so far....thought I might share my rolla with everyone and see if anyone has any "cheap" suggestions on what I could do to improve the look of her  Nothing too costly, I've intentionally avoided replacing the wheels because I don't want to over-invest on the car, I just want to make it look as good as it can for a reasonable price. I mean, if someones got some alloys to suit with decent rubber they'd like to get rid of under $100 I'm interested but I doubt thats gonna happen right  Atm I'm looking at getting new wiper arms as one needs replacing anyway....otherwise its pretty stock, on…

You might remember that i was looking for an AE93 SX/GTi a few months ago, well i picked one up so may as well show it off a bit. It's a White Series 1 SX Seca which had 208xxx on the clock at time of purchase. Pretty much granny spec aside from an alpine headunit which may as well be dead, and rear muffler has been replaced at some point with a decent looking tip, no peashooters here XD. Anyway onto the pics, some featuring TroysRollaSX

Well ladies and gentlemen. As some of you may know I have been looking for a ke1x for quite sometime. Was going to get one before my 20 but needed a car in a rush so that slowed me down for a long while. I've missed out on a couple due to lack of funds but finally got one. I bought it from under the noses of all the brissy boys and got it of joel (pmp16) it was owned by Lou (rolou) before him and a lady before that. There is quite a story behind getting including crashed cars and insurance claims on joels end. After all that got it sent down for 460$ which is very reasonable. I picked it up Thursday and to my disappointment it wouldn't idle. I think the journe…

my 1992 MX83 Grande ebay special Bought the car off ebay with suspected cracked/warped head. turned out to be a warped head with a bent valve. The boyfriend and myself decided to fully rebuild the motor including new bearings, rings, welsh plugs, reconditioned head ($$$), spark plugs, timing belt, water pump, oil & fuel filter, thermostat and rad cap, custom intake piping with pod and fully detailed engine (hours of cleaning and painting). the car is in pretty impressive condition with few imperfections in the body with the main eye sore being the front bar. the steering wheel is pretty had it though with the top all chewed up and the drivers seat showing sign…

This is my 1983 toyota corolla ke70, she has 180,000ks on the clock. At the monent I'm half way into a heart transplant, I'm putting a 4age motor and a t50 gear box into her because my 4k caught on fire :S When i got her she was stock as a rock and i planned to keep her that way, Stock and clean to show the kids in 20 years after all the ke70/ae71s have been drift hacked, but after the fire i didnt want to see her go to waste and i wanted more power :D as everyone does haha. ^ this pic is a few days after i picker her up. all nice and clean after her bath :D ^ The day my heart broke... the return fuel line came off the fuel pump. almost made me cry, srs…

Soooo i'm back in another ke20. Most of you know this car already. engine; Head slightly ported and polished, lumpy cam, extractors, lightened flywheel, new valves, springs, pistons. pretty much everything was freshened up, the effort gone into the engine is awesome and it shows when driven. since getting it i have had another muffler installed as it was way to loud, lowered it and as of today had whitewalls put on. interior is pretty much overrated bar the drivers seat, and it seems the carby is on its way out. looking to go some sought of weber or something to get that extra bit of power its lacking. any advice would be fantastic.

hey guys, picked up this ke70 wagon last friday. it's my first car, exterior is fairly clean, interior is shocking haha. pulled most of it out today and it's getting a good soak to (hopefully) get the stains out. if that doesn't work too well, i'll get it reupholstered, any suggestions where? here's a picture for the meantime. got a few bits and pieces to sort out, has a vacuum leak and won't idle. other than that, need some rear seatbelts if anyone's got any :) short term plans - fix any mechanical problems. interior done nicely. decent stereo (doesn't have one at all haha). upgrade suspension/handling/stopping (i read ae86 front coilove…

I have been working on my ke35 coupe for around 5 years now.......and I am almost at the stage where it needs a paint job. Any budding painters out there who would like to earn a few bob? Or perhaps a recommendation from someone who has a place in mind? Anything under $1,000 will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I got into the whole nostalgic car scene with the influence of a friend of mine and ever since i saw classic cars in his perspective.. i was h00ked! The story began one day while i was at school lurking an Australian car forum and came across a thread where a forum member had posted something about an 80 year old man wanting to sell his crown. So i was thinking ... hm mm ... one owner? JDM? 40 series crown? Manual? tick tick tick TICK! As the front of my shorts began to lift at an alarming rate i quickly got my phone and texted this forum member(i believe silvera23 on here?) straight away Got the contact details of this old mans number and c…

Just picked up this ke70 for cheap a few days ago, the motor in it is good runs really well but its a auto. the body has rust in the boot and around the fuel cap (its pretty bad). the interior is surprisingly clean Not really planning to go too nuts with this car, I'm just gonna lower it and paint it, and mabye some wheels. I bought it from Just Wrecking Toyotas on the cnr of South Tce and South Rd in Wingfield. The guy said it was lucky i called when i did because the car was about 10 minutes away from being completely wrecked, the guys had allready gone out and marked all the parts with a texta which i now have to clean off, lol.

After deciding that it was time for an older Toyota to enjoy over the summer months the search began. After looking for an early Corolla or RT40 Corona with no luck I decided to broaden my horizons to Crowns. Why I never looked at Crowns before is beyond me but i'm sure as hell glad I did. After a week and a half of searching I stumbled across an elderly gentlemen selling his 1970 MS55 in S.A. I rang the number and the rest is history. He had owned the car for the last 19 years (he's 79) after purchasing it from a 92 year old who'd owned it since new. I drove up on a Sunday morning and after some haggling she was on a trailer and I was on my way back home to Vic t…

Well first off... What a piece of shit :P I took this car off'v the hands of a bloke at work for a slab of beer due to my kingswood's 202 crapping out and my utter laziness and at the time, poverty. When I got her she had been run over by a dual steer cement truck and due to not being able to open the door the bloke who owned it took a pickaxe to the door for some stupid reason. (See: Overzealous anger) After two years of not being able to close his window he decided the old girl belonged at the tip to which I yelled abuse and offered him a slab of beer for it. A few words later he accepted and I took ownership of the '80 Ke-55 Coupe. After I'd …

Hey all, i now have a ke30 2 door corolla. My turbo Ke55 is on hold for the moment :P Here are some pics of the car when i picked it up. As you can see it needs a little bit of work! This car has a 5k motor and a 5 speed gearbox. the body is fairly straight apart from a few dents around the place. and there is minimal rust.. compared to my other corolla! I am going to spray the car acrylic white to give it a mirror finish. also some future plans are white wall tires a rear venetian blind and probably lowered a little bit. other then that ill probably keep it stock standard as i have my quick little red rocket as my other car. I am also looking for a…

Here's the story My original car is 1977 corolla 4 speed manual Hasn't been on the road for a few years due to a prang The running gear and interior are overrated as well as the front panels. Month's ago I picked up a reasonably straight minimal rust 1980 2door rolla coupe manual ex paddock bomb, no starter motor, drive shaft, radiator and it's never been started since I've got it. My aim is to get the 2 door registered by sticking the running gear from the 77 into the coupe I would like to keep the spend of this build low, and work with what I got. Cheers DZach23

Hey peoples, my daily ride is a 1972 ke20. this car was always the car i was going to own and hey now i have one. its pretty damm clean for a car of its age and goes great all day every day. the downsides to the car are the small bit of rust beneath the back window, tiny bit of rust inside the door/window frame, a fairly large ding down the passenger side of the car ( previous owner fell asleep at the wheel) -_- and scratches on the bonnet and left side of the car where the previous owner went through a barb wire fence GRRR!!! payed $2700 for it and have plans to spend lots on it!! haha Specs as it sits now: 5k with webber carby 5 speed thermo fan mounted on l…

After selling my TE71 & AE82 and leaving myself with my KE10 (1970) which needs restoration I had nothing to drive and that drove me to DEPRESSION :-/ So I guessed id never come across another one for some time... Then to my surprise 2 days ago I got a call from a lad in Norwich here in England asking if I was after a 'Toyota Corolla 1982' after I asked him what chassis coding it was he wasnt sure but said it was a RWD.... It could only be a KE70 DX or GL...i assumed So after further questions it turned out it was a KE70 GL model .. ;D Defo what I was looking for.... Hey, picked this little beauty up earlier in the week. It's a yellow, 1980, ke55 cs coupe, auto. Not too bad condition. Has some rust spots and dents. Interior is quite good apart from dash top, most things work. The heater works! The 4k runs well and goes alright considering it's auto. Plans are to clean it up, put it on historic rego and then later I will think about a manual conversion and other mods. But for now I'm just cruising around in it and doing a few repairs. I have got some touch up paint already and have done a few little repairs. I shaved the rear corolla badge, welded holes up and gave it some paint and also under the fuel cap I did a small rust repair. P…

Hey Guys, New here and just purchased my first KE20 1973, like the title says 25,000 original miles, owned by an elderly lady from new, she drove it up until ten years ago when she lost her license, the car was then stored in a garage up until two months ago when she passed and left the car to her son who sold it to me. It has the original dealer sticker, original number plates, original spare tyre, tool roll etc... and it drives so well too Let me know what you think?

Hey all, After a while away from the car scene I made the decision I was going to downgrade my current car (vw golf) and get back into an old reliable Toyota. I was after a clean, stock as possible looking car as I'm currently STILL on my p's. Obviously it had to be cheap to run and parts somewhat common. So my quest lead me through the forums and even onto the old gum tree where i found this. From first glance it looked a winner, Clean and cheap. But it was not until after i handed over the cash i truly appreciated how well this car had been looked after. Original papers from purchase, original manuals, handbooks, tool kit from Toyota and the receipts of work…

hey everyone, this is only my second topic ( you may remember dohc 4k) last august i saved a ke55 two door lift back from the wreckers with only its motor attached (no g'box, tailshaft or diff centre ) and seeing as dad knew the owner i bought it for scrap value-$100 i bought some mesh from super cheap and went crazy with it, cut my air cleaner box thingy and meshed the air cleaner and meshed the grill i also got some 5 spoke mags for $80 to replace the mix-match steel rims (you'll also see a racing seat in there, one of my ideas that didnt work) it took a while before i got a 5-speed box tailshaft and borg warner style diff then i got it running iv…

Well a mate offered it to me and I got it on the cheap. I love it that much that I'm selling my xr6t that I bought as my first "modern reliable car" Due to unreliability and not needing another "weekend car". I then bought another one automatic with a slipping auto unregoed for $200. I've been working on it the last three weeks and I think it's turning out quite nicely. It owes me $800 all up including buying both cars as I found a lot of goodies in the shed. So far I've done, New shocks (in the shed monroes) Cut springs (ordering kings) Put a set of impul rs mesh on it that I found through my wheel piles a lot better nick then i remembered. Had to buy a new ty…

Check out my new daily..... I'm the first to admit that I have never been a fan of FWD Corollas. I am however a fan of Corolas. I sold my yellow KE70 tonight so this thing will be on daily duties for the moment. The stats: AE93 SX Hatch 1991 Model 4AGE Smallport :) 5 Speed Cold Air Con 220,000 ks (to me it drives more like its done 130xxx ks. definitely been looked after) Alarm & Central Locking CD/MP3 Player Excellent service history with plenty of receipts etc Here is the pic from the ad, more pics after the weekend when I get back from my 30th bash. I'm going to blame the temporary insanity of buying this thing on my impending 30th Birth…
