A while back I proposed posting up a file of gaskets people could copy onto gasket paper or cork as applicable. Nothing seems to have happened with it, so I will put these up here. If applicable, mods may wish to relocate. I will add to it as I can. For example, I have an earlier T50 set somewhere too. Presumably since they are attached as pdf files, they should print out as actual size. Please feel free to add stuff you may have, but probably best not to clutter the thread with chat. Hi, Today after work I popped down to the local super cheap to go through there computers and catalogs to see if I could find an external heater tap for my KE15. The original tap I can't get anymore :P And today at supercheap we couldn't see any heater taps that you can buy or anything :D So I was curious those universal heater taps that people get where can I get one from? A picture is below of the type of valve I mean. It is circled in Pink. Cheers Cameron

I have installed a VN V8 master cylinder into my KE30. I forgot to ask which outlets are for front and rear. Its too late to call now, so is there anyone that can answer this for me, and possibly post a pic. I have to get these brake lines bent into shape and then sent off to have the correct threaded ends on them....preferably tonight or tommorow as the christmas holidays is quickly approaching.

Hi all, my 3tc in my t18 is not idleing properly, it will start and then to keep it running i have to revv it, if i don't rev it it the revs will drop down below 1000 then it will die or it will stutter and jump back up to 1200 or so then drop down and die, sumtimes it keeps jumping up from 200- 1200 a couple of times before it dies. this started happenijng yesturday on my way to a mates house, i was almost there so i jsut used the handbrake when comeing to a stop and reved as i was doing so, when i got to my mates i popped the hood and found the lid of my aircleaner(which was a homemade carboard one had come off, so i simply thought oh it was just breathing in to m…

Hi fellow rollas, just wanted to know if anyone else out there is having the same problem i have. I just bought a 91 GTicorolla with 17' vault rims and everytime i go approximately over 70km/ph the steering wheel shakes and it gets worst the faster i go. Normal driving speed 60 km/ph, everything seems fine. I'm not sure if its the rim size or tyres not being balanced properly? or something to do with the axels (loose joints maybe?) does anyone know what that is all about or is having/had the same problem? and how i can fix it? any advice would be greatful!

Hi all, does anyone know of a link or have some information of the speedo variation from actual speed to the speed shown on the speedometre when upgrading your rim size? i currently have 17'' rims on my 91 corolla and would like to know approximately how much the speedo is out by? i think i speak for us all when i say, i do not want to be done by a speed camera. any help would be great! thanks in advance

Hey all, we just took a diff out of a KE70 and I was under the impression it was an S series as that is what I was told. But I would just like to know how to identify an S series vs a T series diff? No doubt theres some easy/obvious differences. Pics may help, but whatever. Cheers!

Hi, I have a 3K bigport head sitting on my desk at home that I want to give a rebuild so new guides, acid clean, skim, polish, port etc. But I was curious what is the best way to remove valve guids from a head? What temp should I heat it up to if I need to heat it up and do corolla ones get pushed down out of the head or up out of the head towards where the rockers would be? Cheers Cameron

Hi, Just in need of informatoin on how to match valve springs to a motor. I have a set of dual valve springs off a 4K head to suit a K motor but I have been suggested by a person to not run dual valve springs as it is over kill etc. So I know there would be a way out the how to calculate amount of valve pressure you would need when it is fully open and also seated shut. So can anyone enlighten us on how to match valve springs to a motor and what to do? As I don't want to kill cam lobes or break parts of the motor from having to hard valve springs for the motor. Cheers Cameron

well, i pulled a diff out of a car for someone who wanted it gone assuming it was a standard ke70 diff. but his car was in fact a 4 door te71 from south africa or somewhere, i get the diff home, and its not the same as a ke70 one. i don't need it and curiosity is nagging at me wondering what it is. has drum brakes of 230mm minimum, as opposed to the 202 on a ke70, has an 8 bolt backing plate, and the tag on it says. 9g-2950007 M68 ratio: 4.11 097 58724 cheers, andrew

Just before we start, know that I know ZERO about carbies....Now my new 5K in my wagon came with a weber off an XF, I assume it's off an XF as it has "XF" written on the automatic choke on the back. Anyways, it was running perfectly, and then the car refused to idle...I checked the manifold...bolts were loose, so tightened them, and it helped but didn't fix it completely, so I replaced the manifold gasket, and it still wouldn't idle...so we moved onto the carby... This is what I have tried...swapping 2 and 3 plug leads to make it backfire out the carby, seems to help a small amount but could be my imagination. Tried revving engine up and covering carby to attempt…

Hi, Well Today I got bored so decided to work on the sprinter. I decided to install my newly obtained heater controls with good unsnapped control arms. But before Installing it I decided to rebuild it to make it like new  Below is a rough guide on how to do it and what mine looked like before and after doing this. 1. I have a few consoles so start with your best one. 2. Strip it back to raw metal. Use sand paper or grit blast or acid it is your choice. I used a grit blaster to get bare metal. There was some surface rust on the item take this off. Below is a half way shot of the part sitting on a spare gear box. Notice the rust on the right. This was…

Hi, On my KE15 I purchased a set of real pacemaker extractors  These extractors are the same for every KE1X model so they SHOULD bolt straight on. well not quite :bash: I found when bolted on they didnt sit flush. Upon investigating I found the cylinder 1 runner hit my starter motor. Now KE1X starter motors the solenoid sticks out away from the motor. See pic below: (I cracked the back of the solenoid this is not from heat..LOL) These starters are also heavy and have less power than the later model starters so it is a good thing to change them. These have 0.6KW. Later models have 0.8 KW. Now if you run a later model gear box in your KE1X or KE2X t…

Hi, Now in my HUGE collection of starter motors I have this one below on the right: Now these are both BOSCH early model starter motors. But notice the front section on the right one is longer more casting ribs and different solenoid housing casting. Is the one on the right a reduction drive starter motor? Does anyone have a picture of a reduction gear starter motor? Also the one on the right is a fair amount heavier. Cheers Cameron

I am considering buying a set of extractors from the US for a 4AGE in an AE71. I know that the Jap spec AE86's have the clutch fork on the drivers side of the T50 don't they? And the AE71 T50's have it on the passenger side right? And this can create a few small problems with the bottom end of extractors hitting the clutch slave lines or something like that when trying to use Jap extractors on ADM vehicle. Now I was interested to know if anybody knew which side the US AE86's had their clutch fork on the T50? Hence or otherwise, are their likely to be any issues with trying to fit US AE86 extractors to a 4AGE converted AE71?

Hey Guys.. So i ave just finished a 4 month silvertop engine conversion.... i am having some issues. The engine has been completely re built... And it is in an AE82 Rolla CSX the twin cam 16 V came out of it. The 20V ECU is in it, as well as the 20V injectors. Now the Silvertop 20V is rated at (121 kW) at 7800 rpm mine will not rev past 7000 it seems like there is not enough fuel. Do i need to replace the 16 V Fuel Pump? Also the torque is supposed to have 162 N·m at 5200 rpm, The most of my torque seems to come in at 3900 RPM. It is really bothering me. Any thoughts at all...........

Hi there folks, Took possesion of my new set of twin sidedraft Dellortos yestersday and I'm pretty excited about bolting them up to my project motor. I just need to go shopping for some extractors now, and I wanted to clarify some issues (I've been digging but its still a tad vague): 1) Extractors and Twin Sidedraft manifold clashes: Apparently the manifolds clash and will require machining off the 3cyl runner? Is this common to all extractor brands or just certain ones? Does anyone have any pics they could circle bits etc so I can get a better idea? 2) KE1x Extractors different from other cars: From what I can tell, KE1x extractors are different from later …

Hey, I've been looking at different stock toyota upgrades, and came across the 17mm tercel rear swaybar upgrade. This got me wondering, does the tercel have a borgy like E7s? Searching on tercel4wd/google, i found hints that the tercel has a T series diff, so I was interested to know if this is a viable upgrade option, like the T18 diff. Any help much appreciated, cheers, -Phil

As many of you will know, I have a KE55 with a late model 4A-GZE (probably AE101). This runs the standard distributor-less twin coil ignition system, controlled by a Microtech MT8 ECU. Due to some bad wiring issues, one of my coils died, and I need to get a replacement. Unfortunately, these coils seem VERY hard to find. So if I can't get one of the standard ones, I need to know what other coil packs can be used instead. Someone has suggested to me that Commodore coil packs would do the trick, but I want to be certain before I start playing with things. Have any of you had experience with this version of the 4A-GZE and it's ignition system? If so, what coil pa…

Hey all. I am just starting to rebuild/modify a 4A-GE to put into my AE71 race car as a learning experience, I thought about upgrading the injectors using the ones off the 3S-GE sitting in the backyard which my sister blew up. My 4A-GE is a Blue top, So it has the 182cc injectors (Grey) Which equates to 36.4hp/injector so 145.6hp (91kw) is its max functionality. The 3S-GE injectors are 250cc. So that equates to roughly 50hp/injector so 200hp (125kw) would be their max fuctionality. So these injectors would only be good for under 125kw. I searched the FAQ and it says you can use 7M-GTE injectors as an upgrade (440cc = 352hp(220kw)), Only problem is i don't have…

Hey everyone, my wagon is now built and on the road, it goes well other than a few teething problems. the next big task is tuning the suspension as it currently handles like a boat. I have done some research but i am new to this so i am a little unsure on what to buy. i read in an earlier post in the AE discussion which provided some good info but its about a sedan. i have a new set of munroe GT gas shocks and 3cm lowerd king springs in the front but i will replace them all if a new set up is needed. If someone could reccomend a shop in ipswich or brisbane who is good with corollas that would be great. and any other advice you might have about my suspension would be appre…

Hi All, I picked a pair of these up a little while ago and have been meaning to get around to paying them the attention the require. They had been sitting for a few years, but the butterfly's still move in a nice smooth motion and with a decent clean they should come up nice. I am thinking about buying a DHLA40 rebuild kit, something like this... Click Here I was wondering if anyone else has done a similar service to their Dellorto's or equivalent, and how they found the experience. Would this be all that is required for a fully serviced carburettor? I need to get the two carbs re-jetted to suit my motor (hopefully a 5K to replace the 3K in my 1972 Ke20), shou…
