hey guys Was cleaning out my corolla the other day and i found my carpet was wet on the passengers side, so i looked up behind the console and the valve where, when you turn the heater on it lets coolant run through, was leaking. So i found a guy with another corolla and replaced the part that was leaking, a day later same problem. just wondering if any one has had the same problem and how they fixed it maby i had some bad luck and the part that i got of this guy was leaking too, tho his carpet was fine bahhh!!

Hey there, I have a little sedan Toyota ke55 corola and i don't have the manual for it.I was just wondering if anyone could please give me the correct amount of oil i should fill the engine up with????.. Hey was looking at my emissions diagram, and there's one bit labeled as the "canister", its situated in the front drivers side quarter, and true to its name looks like a big black canister, with one hose coming from pollution gear and another going towards the back of my car.....just curious :wink:

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows of any differences between a KE55 BW68 diff and an AE71 BW Diff? I know they're about 50mm longer over all and 70ish mm axle tubes Vs 60ish. But are they internally different? Pumpkin sizes? or Axle thickness?

hey guys i am looking to replace all the window and door seals on my ke1* project which i have recently started as it is leaking water chronically into the car .. my problem is that clark rubber can pretty much supply me with all rubbers except front and rear windows .. anybody know where i can find these seals ?? anybody that people on here have used before .. i am in NSW sydney area anbd would prefer to find somebody that will freight from other states or is in NSW .. Hi Everyone, I own a KE10 and I'm at that point where I have decided to put a 4k engine into it. I'm treating this as my crash course in learning more about cars. As far as I have read through this wonderful site, it is supposed to be easy. Basically I would like to know everything I need to complete this conversion. I'm not interested in having a drift car or a super "fast" car. I just want something with the ability to make it up hills and be zippy while commuting between work and weekend events. As it stands, I have a 1967, KE10, 1.1L, 4 speed manual. I don't have much of an issue with the 4 speed. However if there is a better 5 speed option to go with …

Hello, ive just installed a 3k and 5 speed box into my 1968 toyota corolla. I encountered a problem when i realised that my stock ke10 tailshaft doesnt fit the 5 speed. So i ventured to the wreckers and bought a ke70 tailshaft (which is two piece; Unuseable). I bought this coz the spline off this tailshaft fits the 5 speed output shaft. i was going to take apart the uni and use it on my stock ke10 driveshaft, but alas, the uni is a different size and can't be swapped. All i need to know is what one piece tailshaft from later model corollas will fit the output shaft on my 5 speed, so i can get one and cut it down to fit my ke10. g'day all, been after a ke10 for a while for a project. Had a guy send me a message saying he has a 'ke10' but side on it looks different.. its still sedan style but the boot looks longer and a slightly different angle.. what I'm wondering is.. can anyone tell me what is the differences between ke10 and ke11 body wise? i know with celica's the last number partially dictates engine.. ie ra65 iss 22re where as ra63 is 18rg cheers in advance.. here is the photo also..

hi , am just wondering what is an easy replacement fit for a ke10 brake master cylinder. i have heard of a mazda one being a close fit. preferably want to fit a twin port master cylinder . Can anybody who has done this give me some tips. i don't want to modify the firewall too much . thanks

I am putting disc on my 69 corolla i have a article by Alex Bates but the caliper mount/backing plates have a four bolt mounting i got them off a 73 corolla but they don't line up with the ke10 struts do i have to modifiy the bracket from the article it say it a direct fit can any one help Thanks Nardy

Hi all Stuart here Thomas dad , I was ratting parts of our donor car today and noticed it had a factory fitted double front transverse spring and was just wondering if this is standard on the ke10 as Thomas ke11 only had a single leaf or is it possible it may be a Bill Buckle special modification?????. hi am just wondering about lowering the front end of my ke10. it has a macpherson strut set up with a tranverse leaf spring. I have been told different things about lowering it. question is do i need to get a new transverse leaf spring made up or will it go low enough if i just change the coils to 40 mm lowered. i was told the transverse may not allow the front to rest down enough , hence meaning the coils maybe loose on the macpherson strut where they seat . is this true and has anyone out there lowered theres. hi have justed fitted my ke10 with a tandem master cylinder and have a geniune toyota clucth master cylinder in its box still. is it possible to fit this to the car which is running a ke35 5spd running a k motor . My main concern is can a slave cylinder be fitted somewhere with out to many dramas. if anyone has done so pictures would be appreciated .

G'day guys. Just thought i'd chuck up something i did today. I pulled my Ke10 dash cluster apart and removed the MPH speedo dial with the intention of scanning it in and making a kmh one, When i had an idea.. I found a ke20 dash cluster i had laying around my house, and pulled that apart as well, and sure enough.. it'll fit!Z It all lines up, 60mph is where 100mkh is etc etc it's all sweet! And, Fits straight in! No mods needed, Went straight back together and looks factory Sweet!! Now i know what you'll say, it wont be accurate, but, from 40kmh up it is. i am currently replacing all the suspension bushes on my ke10. i had no trouble finding rear shackle bushes in nolathene. When i asked to order a set of front eye bushes they arrived but werent the correct size. we double checked with the manufacturer and they claim they are the correct ones. the size i received were : 50mm diameter at the bush end 10mm eye bolt hole the ones that come out of my car were : 35mm diameter at the bush end 8mm or so eye bolt hole I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem. …

Hey all In a matter of weeks i'll finally have a ke10 sitting in my backyard. :) I've waiting 10 years and finally got one :) I'd like some help/ advice regarding front end setup. The ke will more than likely recieve a form of forced induction, more then likely 4agze The help with this steering and stopping i thought up a setup (mind you this just in my head with no knowledge of what fits etc.) Plan is ke20 engine cross member, ke20 lca's, ke30 struts and brakes for 4x114.3 convertion, ra40 tie rod ends, ke20 sway bar etc.. I'm wondering if anyone can help with some knowledge on my KE10 tacho dash? I bought this dash some time ago and pulled it out of the cupboard to clean and repair it as a couple of the little coloured plastic lenses were floating around in it. My question is, on the pic, below the tacho and speedo what goes where? There was a blue lense floating around and i imagine that is for high beam, but which side? Also what colour lense should the other side be and what sort of warning light is it? Any help is appreciated, Matt...

Hey all. Going to replace the locks on my Ke10 with solex's. Easy part. Now the bit in unsure of is I have a 1967 drivers door and a 1969 passenger door. The locks and mechanisms are listed as 67 ke10 68 ke10 69 ke10 If I buy a set to suit 1969 ke10 I'm unsure as to if it will work will the 67 door and linkages? Any ideas?

I'm most likely going a whiteline swaybar for my ke10. There's the issue of the brake calipers hitting when you switch to disk brake.. So I had the though of swapping struts side to side so the calipers are now at the rear and don't interfere Can anyone see any problems with this? I was thinking the disks will now be spinning opposite directions than they previously were.. and I'm unsure whether this would have any negative effects or I'm just overthinking it? Cheers!

Hi All, i recently purchased a KE11 standard diff and when i had a look at the one in my car on the weekend the housing looks completely different to the one i bought. I was wondering whether KE10's and KE11's came out with different diffs? does anyone know? Any information will be much appreciated.

Hi guys, Been a member for a while and have finally purchased a 1971 ke11 corolla. At the moment its original and was sitting around in a shed for about 5years. I'm planning a 7k conversion and wanted to upgrade the front brakes from drums to discs. Ive read that the simplist will be a ke20 front brake setup. I believe they also have the same stud pattern which will enable me to keep the 12inch wheels and chrome dress rims. Can anyone help as to what I will need exactly? and if someone has bits and pieces for sale. Would like to eventually lower the front and rear. Cheers

Hi, I recently bought a KE15 sprinter and the original owner removed the twin asians as he felt the car would run away on him as he was old so he made the car more used friendly..lol I want to now put the twin asians back on as I'm restoring the car. But I am not sure I have 100% of the linkages or the knowledge to bend twist and run the cables etc to put them on. Hey Group, I just bought a 69 KE15 sprinter to play with. It is in pretty good shape and I'm trying to build it to run autox. The k motor is in fair shape needing minor tune-up and carb rebuild. I found a 3k that had been rebuilt recently with a new clutch and good looking carb with all components attached. The plan is to drop the 3k in and try to get as much out of it for as little $$ as possible. Is there any benefit to using the k head on the 3k block or will everything stay the same compression wise. I plan on trying to get the head ported as well with either of the two. Maybe try it myself on the k head and see if I can manage to make it work. Any suggest…

Hi, Currently under going a diff upgrade in my KE15 and when I removed the stock diff I pulled the leaf springs off and the original saddle pads were worn out. Saddle pads: http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/images/P/15012lg.jpg I have done some reading and found a few places where people suggest throwing them in the bin. Why...They say it tightens up the rear end for better handeling. Now if I run leaf spring directly in contact with diff you would have metal to metal wear.. With pad would stop this.... So I'm in two minds find ones that fit and get new ones OR don't install them and have a better rear end feel etc. What are other peoples v…

I have just about finished the 3k swap into my ke15 and am looking at the nect project. I purchased some late model celica gt wheels that are the 4x114.3 pattern and am trying to figure out what the easiest thing to do would be. Is there a different axle that I can swap in for the rear or should I just get rid of the celica wheels and go with the 4x110 pattern. The front seems to be an easy solution. -Ok the facts The engine is a 5k put in by previous owner . I know it has at least a lumpy cam in it but can't tell you anything else . lately at high revs.... or when shes warm.... she ticks unfortunately my stereo isnt all that great so i can't turn it up loud enough to drown the noise Is there a quick fix or is it a little more serious ? thanks LAUREN

i have put a 5k and 5 speed into a ke17 does anyone know what tail shaft combination i can use. i have the ke17 shaft which is the right length but wrong spline, i have a late ke30 shaft (aussie build) which is to long and the unis are not a match, anyone know which shaft i need (early jap ke30???) thanks for any info

Hi, As the title says I found out last night reading my KE1X aircon manual. If the KE1X car was fitted with factory aircon they also installed a factory electric fuel pump in the boot. So for some reason on the KE1X with aircon they ditched the diaphragm pump and used an electric one in the boot. Below is 2 scans of the manual showing the fuel pump exploded view and the number and part list page showing how the number matches up from the exploded view to fuel pump. Also notice above on the fuel pump exploded view page the image outline of the motor showing how the fuel line goes to a bracket and on that there is a regulator mounted and then it goes to the…
