i just got some seats from a gt4 and i am going through the crap to modify them to fit a t18. only problem is the rails are a part of the metal body for the seats on both sides so i have no idea on how to get them to fit. any help would be fantastic as i don't really want to have gt4 tops and t18 bottoms might look a bit odd not to mentoin the lack of comfort. cheers in advance

hi all, i have brought a 32 36 weber that i was told was off a falcon, autho don't think falcons had 32 36's it has 160 and 165 jets up the top and 140 and 145 down in the fuel bowl, can some one tell me if i need to change these jets so as it will run well on my 4k whitch is all stock apart from extractors thanks casey

Here is my problem, I'm replacing the seals in my clutch slave and i have got one seal on the piston but i can't get the 2nd one on. How is a seal with a hole 5mm wide ment to fit over a piston that is 10mm wide? As Raven said I'm one angry munchkin, Ive been trying for the last 80mins and no luck :) .

Hello all. I`m looking for a 5speed box to fit in my k-engined ke35. I have never seen or heard of a k50 in Norway so looking for options. Was at the scrapyard today and found a 82 mod. km20 with a 4k in it. It had a 4speed ,wire clutch , bolt on bellhousing, side-lever activated gearbox. Question : is this bellhousing of any use to me ? what gear box were these cars fitted with ? It had a 4stud big diff that i belive is a e-type. About 40mm wider then my u type. hi guys, look, i know this is a corolla forum but i'm sure people here could tell me a good place for me to service new ride :y: which is an '86 toyota celica st162. i've been looking for a corolla coupe in melb. area but i found no luck on getting it, so i got myself a celica instead. now, this car has some problems on the engine, which is a 3s-ge with 5-speed manual transmission. the car seems to be choked (?) when i hit the gas. it happens on low rpm like 1-3 rpm. so i'm thinking of servicing the car. as i don't want to get ripped off from the mechanics (i just got to australia like 3 months ago and i haven't go to a mechanic before) i need some suggestions on…

Ok time for another question Will an ex TA22 T50 gearbox bolt up to my 4A series engine with the bell housing from my T40 gear box that i have in the car now, i'm not sure if the shifter will line up in the tunnel or if the bell housing will fit? I know that i'll need a different tailshaft as the 5 speed is a longer box but i just need to know if the box will fit before i buy it. Thanks for your help again guys Chris

hey guys i have brought a 4age and i was just running a few ideas throught my head and was thinking of supercharging it, just courious what this would invole, obviously the super charger and computer is needed i was just woundering if injectors or anything like that is also needed from a ze motor... i would obviously run low boost to save the motor alot of stress.. if some one knows or has done this before just a list of whats needed would be great.. thanks guys mozzy

i have been offered a turbo and turbo manifold for my ca18 the turbo is a t3 off a saab, so it has small exhaust housing. minimal shaft play, but the guy informs me it could do with a rebuild. and the manifold is a standard ca item that has "apprantly" been ported for "better" flow. it also has a t3 flange so that helps some what. what do you guys reckon its worth, as he has said make an offer and i'm not very good at offering for things (ie. i always offer way to much)

Ok, So i got my gear box and pedles (4speed ), now my dad said to me that i might have to change the yoke at the end where the gear box is attaching to the dryshaft. Is this true or would the auto dryshaft work? would i have to go get a manual dryshaft to work with the gear box?

Hay guys I'm a little confused about something! iv got a problem with my 4k it seemed to b running on 3 cylenders any way i checked to comp an cylinders 2,3,4 had 180psi but cylinder 1 only 40psi. So i took the head off thinking it was the gasket cause i also had white crap under my oil cap an stuff. anyway took the head down to my mate to get it shaved to put in back on and he reconds the head and the gasket looked good so he turned th ehead upside down and filled it up with fuel an the valves didnt leak so we filled the cylinders up with fuel to check the rings an cylinder 4 leaked out in about 10 mins and the rest were ok!! so what I'm trying to say is if the rings…

just wondering how often should one hand crank a motor while its sitting out of a car, and what amouint of oil should be put in while doing it, if it makes a differnece its a sr20, and i know that this is a toyota forum but its going in my ke30, all mounts are done, brakes done and diff installed. cheers

Hey guys, About 3 weeks ago my daily 4AGE developed a rather loud rattle (almost like a bigend), I 1st looked at the timing belt idler as it sounded like it was coming from the front of the engine but it was fine, I was then told it was a bigend so i did the remove ignition lead test and it was still there, I was then told that it was buckets and shims so i took the cam covers off and had a look and none seemed loose so i just kept driving it until tuesday, When i left work the car was very gutless but i just wanted to get home, 20 mins later driving down the ipswich motorway at goodna the car coffed and farted and lost all power so i pulled over and turned it off, I then…

hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what offsets would fit a ke70? i have bought a set of volks off my mate, both 7's, the back ones fit on nicely and look sweet, but the front tires hit the springs and and wont fit. they are 2 piece however and i was thinking that i could go out and buy just the outer rims with a smaller offset and just slap the centres on the new ones? we emailed the guy at volks to see if this was possible, but he did not know what to do. anyone with suggestions or info, would help me out alot :D thanks heaps, yani

it amazed me a bit..all the sparks comes from 4 relocated coil packs.. the dizzy is left at place with no plug wires.. and it runs on webber carbs.. how did he do this..?? how it all wired up..?? :evil:

Gday all, I have a 1999 AE112 Hatch that's central locking appears possessed. Driving after about 10 minutes the locks try and unlock themselves. Is this a common occurence? After you've stopped, locked the doors and walked away, they open by themselves also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ive got a ke20 corolla and i found some rims i liked but there on the internet so i want to be sure they will fit they are the right stud pattern but i wasnt sure about the offset. they are 13 x 5.5, 4 x 100 PCD with 46p offset and a 56.1 mm bore hole. thanks rollas . peace

hey guys, just wanted some advice and thought on my idea. i have this idea of punching my cat on my corolla, it will add power as it will be a cleaner air flow plus it will sound really really nice. i heard a civic witha puched cat today and it was nice. what do u guys think? btw i do no it is illegal, but so is nearly evrything for p platers these days. punching the cat, i mean unbolting it and taking out evrything thats on the inside then putting it back together.

hey I have a ke70 S model which has the clock instead of the tacho I want to buy a ke70 Instrumental cluster with the tacho but I'm not sure if i it will plug straight in and work or i have to run a lead to the ignition coil.

ay... i got a ke30 1977.. my stock diff is making some bad noises... liek a very violent ratle.. i think some one said something botu a bearing housing but I'm not sure...... let me know cheers

Hay guy just wanted to know if there is any diffrence between the front swaybar on the KE70 sedan and KE70 wagon? The reson i am asking is cause iv just changed my swaybar in my wagon to a 24mm an i thort i would mesher the old one just to see how big it was 22mm i meshed it with verneres! anyway today i was messing around with my sedan an the stock swaybar looks a heap smaller an the stock wagon one?? are my eyes playing tricks on me?? cheers steve SORRY ABOUT SPELLING

hey guys, been tempted to buy sum repro teardrop gt mirrors from an XY to replace the standard mirrors on the wagon. iv seen them alot on mazdas etc but not sure how they would fit up. I'm guessing you would need to make new bolt holes in the doors to suit? has anyone fitted these before to any Ke's? thanks. for anyone that doesn't know, they look like this. this is fitted to a cortina.

hello people i have a bit of a problem, i've got a ke20 that is nearly ready to go back on the road. the problem i have is that i got told to put on ke55 front struts as i had drums, now the top spring carrier is grabbing the strut tower. i have turfed the old struts and they are well and truely at sims by now, what other cars struts will bolt straight in with the spring being the same diameter as the original ke20 items? please help

hi people i have an issue with my ke20 struts, firstly i have put ke55 brakes on to the ke20 struts. my problem is that when i reverse, the top of the wheel grabs the strut, so i thought no problem i'll put new wheel bearings on. this hasn't helped and its still doing it. now is their a different size ke20 stub axle or do i use ke20 wheel bearing? I'm stumped, please help

Hey there every one, I have what I believe to be a problem with either my diff or my rear wheel bearings and I am asking your help in diagnosing just what is wrong. First up the small amount of technical information I know about the diff. She is currently in my Ke35 and was placed there (not by me) about a year ago. She is the Japanese style diff not the Borg Warner, i don't know from what she was transplanted and finally she is making a whirring sound. I have been told that if it where a pinion bearing or any other sort bearing within the diff the whirring would stop if i placed my foot on the clutch whilst the car is moving. (Is this correct?). :hmm: I have a 82' KE70 CS 5speed manual.. yeah that is all the badges I found on the car and in the engine bay. Anyway, Its had a new motor put in, a million years ago, its a 5k whatever that means. It needs a tune up, Dad reckons the tappits need to be done, so we need the engine specs to know what to do with them, if anyone can make sense of this, and help, I'd be heaps greatful. :S

g'day all, ive got a ke70 panel van with a worked k4, (cam, ported, dual valve springs, oversized valves, strethend bottom end, 4-1 extractors ans 2'' exaust) until just recently ive been uning a stock asian carby on it and getting 76.5 rwhp @ 7900rpm. ive since put a 32 / 36 webber ontop of the beast, and power seems alot better but taking off or anything under 3500rpm it is really unresponsive and lacks power there. ive been told a few reasons for this 1 is that the carby is to big, 2 with the oversised cam and all the port work that 3500 is were everything works with each other and makes the power. what i want to know is it just something i have work aro…

hey my 4k used to idle at 8 to 900rpm but i was revving it and i revved over it 5000 and now it idles at 2000 and i can't get it to go back down. ive check the acceletrator cable and its allright and the choke cable and its fine i also tryed to ajust the idel speed and mixture but no luck. so i don't no what the problem is can anyone help thanks

Well i pulled the clutch of my 4ac as i don’t need it any more because i'm waiting on a 4age to put in i pulled it off and found this i don’t think this is standard Toyota gear although could be i don’t know this is the first corolla I’ve worked on properly the paint is funny its got a iridescent shine like an oil sheen its weird and also looks like its been laced with string, better gripping??? the pressure plate is repco brand but i couldn’t find any number or code or brand name on the clutch plate got me stuffed cheers

How strong are the auto's, trying to decide whether to fasttrack the manual swap or not. do they handle the occaisonal heavy downshift ok without wanting to spew oil everywhere or strip out the clutch plates or similar? it's currently only a daily and will rarely be driven in anger. would just like a little head's up if I should nurse the box or if it can take a little. I just aquired a 4K engine which is currently running a bit rough so i thought i would pull out the spark plugs for a look see When i unscrewed the plug, the sleeve/surround came out with it Is this normal? If not does it need to be fixed? How? And also, i want to get a good set of plugs to suit the engine specs as far as i know it has standard internals except for the cam, twin dellortos & extractors Any reccomendations for plugs would be appretiated Cheers - Andrew

I have recently purchased a 1974 ke20 and am looking to change the stud pattern... I am not knowledgeable about diffs, brakes and axels but hopely you guys can clear a few things up... Q.1 - If i were to get ke70 axels and brakes, will they slot straight into my existing diff? Q.2 - (don't judge me) - but rear ke70 axels are discs right? Q.3 - Spacers - I know they give you wider tyres but do/can they change your stud pattern (4x100 pcd to 4x114.3 pcd) ? Q.4 - Can i change the whole rear end (diff, axle and brakes) from a ke70 into a ke20 with no dramas? I would appreciate all help and knowledge, Thankyou Will

I got a red top 4ag and I'm not getting any fuel out the injectors. theres plenty of fuel in the rail. and i put noid lights in the injector plugs and they work. i checked the ohms on the injectors and it reads 14.8. can anybody tell me whats wrong.? or something else i should check? is there any other way to check if the injectors are working or not? The fuel pressure regulator is good as is the fuel pump. any help, links, or anything would be HUGE! THank you.
