I have had a few suggestions from a few different people first is getting the standard ze ecu chipped (which i don't have a loom for) or getting a haltech sprint 500 or sport 1000, thoughts on my best course of action? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards

I'm trying to pull apart the master cylinder from my ke35 to replace the seals. Its the newer dual circuit (rectangle) one. The main cylinder section came apart easily and cleaned up nicely. On the proportioning valve section, I removed the end cap but the internals have rust on them and don't move/ don't come out. Is there a trick to getting it apart or is it time to find a replacement MC? Thanks.

Can anybody shed some light on this? is it a bad idea? what should I use to clean the tank? Thanks in advance!

So I managed to overheat my mini compressor recently with the result that I now have no compression! On strip down, it appears I have glazed the bore and worn the ring. I was thinking I could hone it with my hydraulic cylinder hone, but not to sure how to sort the carbon ring. Any ideas?

Hi Guys Just wondering if anyone has a line diagram for the carby vacuum hoses for a 1980 ke55 coupe auto. The sticker under the bonnet is to faded to read. The diagrams I have found on line so far are no where near what i have under the bonnet. The dizzy has two lines running from it. Can any of the lines be disconnected? Are all of them necessary. any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone had a Workshop manual for a small port 4age, I've found one for a older big port 4age but would prefer to get one for my motor. Thanks

Hello to all, I am a new first time corolla owner and have a question about it. It's a 99 with the 1.8 1zz engine....It has a misfire that happens at all times,I've checked spark and all 4 wires are getting spark.checked the fuel injectors and number 4 injector does not have a signal so it's not injecting fuel.I checked voltage and I get 12volts to the b/w wire and I also have continuity in the black wire from the injector harness all the way back to the ecu.I went as far as to bypass the harness and run a separate wire from the ecu to the injector and still nothing.it seemed to me I had a bad ecu so I got ahold of another one same numbering and all but still nothing.I'm…

Hey guys, I need some advice on things that might cause the engine to stall when applying throttle or choke. Context: had year old fuel in the car from about a year of sitting around while body work and paint was being done. Car wouldn't run without stalling after about 12months, so we drained fuel tanks and refurbished carby. Now the thing starts and idles beautifully but any choke or throttle causes it to stall. The fuel pump seems to definitely be working because I disconnected inlet into the carburetor while the engine was running and it was flowing a tonne of fuel. The engine sounds like it might be misfiring a bit, but I don't know how to diagnose that. The vacuum …

OK, so I just assembled my XT130 struts and springs and camber tops, using the XT130 LCA's, and TTT AE86 PS knuckle. Put on my 14" wheels and they don't spin? The caliper is not touching, and can't see anything else fouling? Before installing the hubs spun freely? I think the dust shield is pushed up against the rotor. does the AE86 Knuckle move the strut inwards? I'm thinking I have to remove the dust shield, or grind down the end of the LCA(don't want to do this.....)or get a NRCA? Anyone else come across this?

Hi All, Previously i made a post regarding some fuel pump decisions i had to make, i opted for the mechanical pump for reliability and ease of installation, pump went in a treat and there was a noticeable improvement on the first start however now the car is struggling to idle. Not idling at all would be a better way of putting it. this was my first time playing with fuel systems so has anyone got a tip or suggestion as to why this may be happening and how i would go about achieving a solid idle again. I am going to play around with the timing this weekend also as it may be up to that but i figured it wouldnt hurt to gather some other opinions. Cheers

Hey guys, I recently just purchased an 81 Corona and it came with the springs cut. The car is in great shape but I'm too worried to drive it the way it's sitting. I've read on here that T3 AE86 Coilovers work on the XT130 chassis but I'm not sure which ones to purchase. I've also heard they don't fit. I'm not an experienced enough welder to get the weld-ons that are sold for the XT130. Appreciate your time

  23. Hi all. Can those in the know please share their experiences with swapping out any combination of the 3K, 4K and 5K engines? How noticeable was the upgrade or downgrade? If I hypothetically took out a 3K engine and replaced it with a 5K engine, how much of an upgrade in performance would I get (not looking for horsepower numbers, just noticeable honest feedback). How impressed/disappointed were you with the upgrade/downgrade? Thanks heaps, Paul.

  26. Hey folks, hope everyone’s safe. I don't know if this topic has been opened yet, but I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my car's wheel spacers. I installed a new set of Brembo calipers and HRE rims, but they are scratching the rims because they are too big. I already had them installed and didn't want to spend money on another set of calipers and wheels. So I searched on Google for a solution and finally decided to install a set of spacers. The effect is very nice. Not only did it solve the scratching problem, but my wheels were flush with the fenders. The whole car looks fuller and is very stable while driving. Now I'm cruis…

I've picked up some pretty blue and gold anodised sleeves from fulcrum for my front struts but I'm baffled as to how they are actually attached. They look like they're made of alloy so they can't be welded to the strut. Are they press fit or do you need to attach a steel collar of some kind to hold it in place? I noticed Fook was using the same product but i can't see how its attached to the strut. Any ideas?

How is it do drive with in high speed? 100-160km/h I just tryed it at a snowy parking place, drifting around.. so don't know how it is at higher speeds?

Have been thinking about my suspension, and what I can do to maybe make the car easier to drive, and talking to a few people who would probably know what they are talking about, and one thing that could be wrong with the current set up is maybe the rear shocks aren't really up to the job. They are currently standard KE35 KYB's. The car, however, is a little heavier (cage), the diff is heavier (Celica) and the springs a fair bit stiffer (approx 200lb), so perhaps the KYB's aren't really valved for all that... Will be getting the car back on the shock dyno early next year so I guess I'll find out then. I've heard rumours that Commodore shocks are a suitable replac…

Just wandering around the Internet today, I stumbled across the Nevo website and noticed that they have "underdrive pulleys". The 4AGE ones are 15% underdrive on the crank and 10% underdrive on waterpump and alternator, while Bill Sherwood's ones special ones are standard crank, and very large others. I can understand putting smaller pulleys on the pump & alternator if you expect to be doing high revs a fair bit, but what's the advantage of underdriving the crank pulley?
