  4. Long time lurker here. I don't post often but thought it time I share some latest pics As some of you would have seen previously, I have a ke30 2door sedan with a 3k, worked head, lightened flywheel, EFI (7ke manifold), Megasquirt, distributorless ignition (EDIS), etc etc. It even has a catalytic converter. I have now added an AMR500 supercharger, which is originally from a 930cc twincharged Nissan March Superturbo. I fitted it to the engine using custom brackets, which I knocked up on a spare block in my shed. This was the easy bit! The pulley on the S/C was changed from serpentine to a v-belt type from a corolla alternator. My crank pulley already had a too…

Hi all. I thought it was about time to start a Rolla Club Technical Build. My name is Paul and my car is a 1971 ke20. It is a budget race car, but a lot of fun. We had a good year in2009 winning my class, [sports Sedan up to 1600cc] and my youngest son winning Junior Hill climb Champion, at our club [Gippsland Car Club]. So I decided to give the old car a bit of a tidy up. My son Dave is an apprentice panel beater, so his job is the body while I will concentrate on the mechanical side. The car ran a 2T for 2009 but having 3 X 2TG motors in the shed at home I thought that would be the way to go. That’s where the drama’s started. I chose a 2tgeu block and crank with an 82…

Hey Rollaclub! Here's another project I have bitten off. While looking for a coupe I came across this buff coloured sedan on eBay. Of course the nature of eBay is that sometimes you bid and end up owning things you didn't intend to. I really wanted a coupe! This is a relatively low mileage sadan (167,000km) that IMO just needed some loving. The previous owner fitted a new clutch and rear main seal, then got bored of it before he put it back together. As such, some assembly was required before I even knew it would run. But run it does, very nicely thankyou. Here's when I got it; I started tinkering. It really just needs a 30 year service! So I pu…

Gday, bought this car a bit under a year ago and have been slowly working on it. Its a 1975 ke36. Its a fair heap but I love it, so far I have fixed the indicators, breaks somewhat, horn, removed heaps of surface rust from the engine bay, replaced the clutch, put 2" lowering blocks in the back and flipped the leafs. It also has 14x7 (0 offset) Globelines. I have some 4.5kg ###### springs for the front as well but they aren't in yet so it is still sitting way too high at the front. I plan to tidy the body up, replace front quarters and eventually respray it. Interior also needs some work. Overall car runs heaps well, brakes and handbrake are a bit iffy and still n…

Hey all, Figured I'd throw up a build thread for this with the hopes it'll keep me motivated and on track (lol) Bought this back in Jul'15 and drove it back home from QLD. I'll be honest, it was a pretty scary drive! The suspension was set up for track use with oversized sway bars, strut & piller supports and the dampers set to the hardest setting. Thing was skittish a.f on the rural QLD roads, even at lower speeds, and I found myself bounced into the opposing lane several times and once into the path of a truck. Needless to say that, in conjunction with the miserable weather and poor visibility at the time, I found myself holding the wheel with a death grip an…

Hi All, I've been a member for a while - initially I signed up to buy a KE35 for my girlfriend, but having it sitting in the driveway and puttering around on weekends inspired me to upgrade. So on Saturday I pick up my first Corolla - a 1974 KE20 that's been in one family since new. It's currently unregistered, but after a bit of a once-over I'm hoping to get it registered on Saturday and drive it home. Immediate plans are: Rego Replace the massive racing seats with original seats (have to source some!) Attach the granny visor Replace lap sash belts with retractables Brakes - maybe AE86 strut/brake combo Down the track I might look at a 4AGE swap, but …

  23. Hi Everyone. Having had a long standing love affair with the old rotary motor, combined with a love of the early sedans of my time, this is my first project that i actually look like having the money to complete from start to finish. Crazy. Started with seeing an add on g-tree for a ke30 sedan that looked kinda neat. Rang the owner and he was super nice, and being about a 3 hour drive from my place, a mate and i decided to make it into an overnight trip as a bit of a getaway as well. Fell in love with it at first sight, and was convinced there and then that this is the car for me. Completely stock as a rock, with a few little patches of rust, but nothing that …

So it drove onto the car trailer starting first go, off of the car trailer and is now at my uncles awaiting to get fixed. Should be getting sent the pictures of it still on the trailer soon to put up. I have been here a while and thought It was time I showed a few pictures of my car and what type of driving it sees. the car is a dark blue KE70 flat front and has been owned by nearly everyone. I live just off Magill road and grip drive through the hills on a weekly basis. the original 4KC was quite a screamer and never missed a beat, however a 4K has little to no torque and to climb hills with speed there is no substitute. turbo or supercharged engines have too many potential issues that will lead to increased repair/running costs, increased problem diagnosis, installation difficulty. the "feel" and "free" rev of a naturally aspirated engine i…

I knew it would be a challenge but honestly had no idea it would take this long. No…
