Taking ownership of my 5th corolla tomorrow! Pretty clean for it's age, a neat little unit, pity they painted the bumpers! gonna have to score some KE30 ones. about november 08 i bought this ke55 coupe of a mate for 900 bucks, with 1mm left on the front pads :no2: and a dodgy stereo install with live wires near the fuel tank! :) so i have done some work but time is short so time to create a cool, comfy daily thats fun to drive! and has real working brakes! here some pics yay 4 back yard bodgy body work fixed stereo install Mighty 4k 4speed :) Plans are: 5k and a 5speed! hey all got this a few weeks back, ke55 coupe, totally standard apart from KE35 tail lights, Was intending to use it only as daily driver, while my other car is off the road... but that didnt last long at the moment basically only concentrating on the bodywork, has a bit of rust in the rear guards/bonnet etc, was half painted in gun metal grey when i got it, an looked fairly average imo.. so got out the sandpaper & started painting it in Teil Blue, only one coat & half done at the moment, weather has been to shit to paint :(. *this is only temporary until proper respray in a few months*..trying to avoid cop attention by making it just one colo…

Here is ben and my little fun project, its a 55 coupe that we straightened and painted. will be rego'd on monday for ben as he just sold the 20. was a country car that had many accidents, so is still abit rough but we aren't panel beaters or painters. will remain stock other the ride height (needs to sit so much lower).

Hi everyone! So i have finally got myself another corolla and this one is in just as much need of work as what my ke20 was! most of the work on this one is going to be rust repair... i spent the last 2 days cleaning up all the stuff i didnt like about it and am quite happy with the results so far. changed the seats back to stock ones that will eventually be re-upholstered. I also replaced the after market steering wheel with a stock one. removed about 20 metres of unnecessary wiring out of the car, remnants of an alarm system and a stereo system and some other stuff! had to clean up the extra gauges as well and the steering column surround had a bunch of holes d…

Hey guys, new to the forum and just bought a ke55, always loved the rollas and finally got my hands on one :) No idea where to begin, has had custom paint job, Has a 5k and a 5 speed gearbox. so much i want to do with it already and only had it a few days :) Any suggestions on where to begin would be great. cheers

I'm a relatively new poster here (long time reader) and thought I might chuck up some pics of my DD and Project KE25. Stock KE55 beater, complete with dodgy manual conversion, 50% compression on #1 Cylinder and noisy tappets! Project KE25, currently being stripped for small rust repairs/acid dip/respray and a FULL rebuild/restoration of every single mechanical/electronic/interior component. That's it! hey all this is my new project got this rolla given to me I'm taking the 4k out and putting a rb30 in (like big engines in small cars) its a factory standard engine with extractors and 1m side pipe. planning to do more work to the engine want to get 10s out of it i'll keep posting as i work on it

Hey everyone been lurkin on the forums for a while now and decided to start a build thread for my ke55. The plans are pretty simple; Sand it back and fix all the rust and total open door respray (not certain on what colour yet, any ideas?) Worked 4k/5k. Specs will be, Knife edge crank, bored 60thou, 12.8 to 1 compresion ratio, custom grind cam, smallport head, (they make more power) 350 holley, custom made extractors with 2'' straight through with a spintek muffler and a lightened fly wheel. Iv been racing ke55's for about 5 years now and know how to get them going, and with a dyno in my shed it will be quite easy ;). Need to source a 5 speed! if anyone has one in WA …

hey just wondering what i can do to get my ke55 to be a lil more fun when driving??? i was thiking about 2inch exhaust and extractors jst gotta check round for prices. i have a 2ltr cortina carby but no manifold and not quite sure on how to install it all any help will be a big help. thanks Josh

Hello everyone. So I've been wanting to get a corolla project for a while and then this little beauty popped up. This 1980 ke55 which belonged to a good mate of mine that he wanted to do up but never got the chance. Bought it on Saturday. It's a 4k with 5 speed. The engine has done less than 10,000kms since it's rebuild. hey guys just sold my ke70 to a mate and done a mad mission to syd to pick up the new daily on the weekend its an 82 model 4 door ke55 corolla that has had a full 4age t50 swap done has race seats fuel system and surge tank few other little mods spent last 2 days fixing little things and adding a little of my own style on a few thing now has fender mirrors relocated from doors alot of new fuel lines in the boot as it was a bit of a mess when i got it had cracked and leaking fuel lines ect now has all new blue silicone fuel lines in boot spent about an hour in the engine bay tidying up wires that where very unsafe still haveto conect …

Hey all, I have been looking around asking dumb questions for long enough I thought I should make a contribution to this wonderful site. Here is my 1980 Toyota Corolla Ke55 with a 4k and 5 speed manual. This is how it looked when i got it and I drove it this way for a few years. Then I became obsessed and started doing things..... Got venetians and put nicer Ke30 lights on. Ahhh ... much better.... Then painted window surrounds black and got some 40 dollar steal rims to replace the stockies. They look great. Hey everyone, I've been working on my ke55 for a few months and this is what I've come up with.... It's got a Garrett t25, I ported the head, done a full rebuild, front mount + stainless pipes, full stainless 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, electric ignition got a few other bits and pieces. I just have to do fuel pump, surge tank, regulator and hook the gas up and she will be ready for dyno. Here are some pics let me know what you think.

First the coupe... I first owned a yellow KE35 when I was 16 in 1989. It's my profile pic. After a couple of years I had thoroughly trashed it, so traded "up" to a VK Commodore, then an XF Falcon, then a ZA Fairlane before picking up another bright brown KE35 around 1997 for $800. Well i thought it was time to start up a project thread and let you all know what I'm upto and what my plans are. I Have 2 Ke's Sitting in my driveway, my old ke55 which i was running with the standard 4k and 4 speed combo, and decided to die on me one night, since that night, it has not been started or moved, it's been close to a year now. its got a near overrated interior, Its been resprayed a few years back before i got it, so its fair decent. The other is my KE30, which I've only had for 4 days or so, It's got a 5k engine with a 5 speed box behind it. its currently nopt running because it needs carbies reconditioned and fluids flushed and a few gaskets replace…

1980 KE55S XX Corolla Coupe 4K-C (1300cc) 4 Speed manual Stock except for the 14x7.5, 0 offset rims and now with fender mirrors, black crystal headlights and front lip... it is going in next week to get the corona front strut conversion modified as coilovers and reset and an extra leaf in the rear and sway bars all round which should tighten it up and bring it down to earth... at the moment the suspension is shagged, and the breakes aren't much better.... once that stuff is sorted it will be time to move onto the engine.... oh and some watanabes are currently in transit...

hey everyone I'm michael, ive been on here for a couple weeks now suarcing parts to fix my new rolla up, just using it at as a daily as my other cars are becoming costly to drive. so far ive replaced the diff, tail shaft, radiator, front struts, steering arms and brakes, rear springs and brakes. also removed the carpet and just painted the floor black and chucked in some mats and fitted a stero and tacho dash. i have a spare KE i used for some of the interier bits but it also has a 5 speed box that ill be fitting soon. and of course done alot of rust. its gota be one of the slowest cars ive ever driven but also one of the funnest heres a couple pics no…

Hey i just thought i'd post up my new project. ke70 4k at present. 5k is sitting in the shed waiting on my ordered new oil pump and bottom end rebuild kit. draw through turbo setup with a tco4 colt turbo. commodore louvelles in the front with new shocks. falcon kings in the rear with new shocks. bog everywhere. locker. Volk racing 3 piece meshies all round - 14x 6.5 then a random range of skidder mags with mostly 155's stretched on. currently in white primer while i finish off some more bodywork then its getting painted probably a slightly lighter shade of gun metal grey. Also has a cobra racing bucket seat. I'll add some pictures when i get the chance. Dave.

Hey guys Thats right our family has become the proud owner of a KE70 lol now we have a collection of cars :) Its got a stock 4k and is 4 speed, it was owned by and old lady for years then was sold of. Well for a Birthday present dad knows alot of people and the car was respray painted red, all dents pulled out, brand new bonnet, cleaned interior, IVE PUT A 6" CANNON on lol looks good i think, replaced the badges to the newly modern toyota badge and tryed on my wheels that have been sitting around Next is its going in for an illegal black tint, looking for 17" black rims with chrome lip, wll lower it about 2" and a sunroof, then ill start on the interior and i already have a 700w amp and 1300 w sub hooked upp went driving the other night and just some photos from out and about let me know what u think
