I've been working up the motivation to do this for a while now as its been on the road for 6 months or so. The car is street registered and engineered for all the mods. I've had this car for 8 years with numerous K motors in it before the urge to have a Rotary got the best of me 3 years ago. I got engineers approval and then ripped out the Hot 5K and twin carbs and sold them before I changed my mind about the conversion. I hit walls where workshops would quote $7K - $10K to do mounting of the motor and gearbox..... Then winter rolled on and I really couldnt be bothered with the car. I had brief patches of motivation during that time where I tackled the bodywor…

This is my beast.. an AE82 4AC. Its not really worth lookin at, unless ya go for pussbuckets. I thought id post it up as I'm new to these parts. Besides, it looks shockin now, but it'll get there eventually. The idea is to leave it as a 4AC, and try and squeeze as much out of the N/A as i can while keepin it reliable. I'm mostly interested in concentrating on everything else. As long as it looks respectable, and goes relativley hard, then I'm happy. I painted the front end black to try the colour. Not bad for a few spray packs and a porta-shed. That paint has s**t itself since i did it a few months ago, so it now looks worse then before i did it. Ill d…

Hey Guys, The Story: So I got word through a friend that his mate had a cheap AE71 for sale.... So i told my mate who was looking to buy a car, went and had a look at it and brought her for cheap but had a few problems to fix up, Since it had problems it became more of a 'joint project' on weekends to fix, so this is our build. first drop, the survo to top up the radiator (had a leaky water pump gasket....) filled up 8 liters of water and headed to maccers. History: used to have a 4agte in it, seemd to have a abit of a wild set-up... MODS: ENGINE 4AC that’s been to the moon and back Old shitty sparkplugs No air filter for colde…

Hi Guys, thought I'd finally get around to posting some pics of my KE18. Yes, this wagon used to belong to Gavclassic, I bought it off him about a year or so ago and the car now lives with me in Toowoomba. There was some rust in the roof that I needed to fix, so I thought that if I was going to have to repaint the roof I might as well add a little spice while I was at it. I thought that I'd pop up the few pics I had to get peoples opinions. I will take some sexy pics of the whole car very soon and pop them up for all to ogle over. I'll get around to the pics and I'll put some info on the car up in the next few days as well, just don't have alot of time right n…

We'll as i already have a very clean KE30 weekender i thought it might be time to replace the daily 'commonwhore' with a real car. The old man and I found this 1980 KE55S CS hardtop via word of mouth and snapped it up. Wasn't running and had been sitting for two years. A couple minutes later after pulling apart the fuel pump, fitting a new fuel filter and hose, topping up some trans fluid and fitting a new battery she was purring like a beast! BASIC DETAILS 4K 3spd slushbox (trimatic :D ) Light blue Cloth seats which appear to be in ok condition under those hideous seat covers and that's about it for now. Plans are to get her on the road and then get her lo…

Hi all I'm very new to this site and posted this on another forum and thought it would be good to show it on here, i have wanted a KE70 for a long time as a project on the side/track car, i could never find one cheap enough to consider buying as i had my main car taking all my money every week its a Ford BA Fairmont that I'm turbo charging over christmas. Anyways back to my KE. i searched and searched for weeks in the papers, Internet carsales, forums and picked up a Defected KE of the forums for a miserly $250 it needs some work and some love but a low price like that i couldn't let it go. So tow trucked it back to my place where i will try to get it back in RWC and …

G'day everyone, I not so long ago bought a Ke18 2 door windowless panelvan from a member on here, so I thought I'd start a small project thread. :bash: So far I have swapped the silver wheels for a set black ones from a mazda 626 which I had on a ke20 parts car in the backyard * Replaced the pitman arm with a new one which I managed to get from Pabs. * Pulled out the original NOISY banjo diff and put in a complete borgwarner diff out of a ke11 parts car which I also have. ( I can hear what my passenger is saying now) :D * Repainted the inside back part matt black again to freshen it up. * Moved tacho from under dash to the top of steering column. * …

Ive always wanted an ae86 and after crashing my 71 I decided to buy a shell and chuck all my gear into it. So last week I picked up a non rolling shell (which is actually not hard to transport). It has a bit of rust and is only half painted. lol. But i plan on cutting out the rust whilst it in in shell form so I wont have to do it again. Anyway here's some info and plans! Its a 83 ADM sprinter, has a modplate LA1option3. Ill be chucking in a JDM 4age bigport, T50, Jasma stainless extractors, 2.25 mandral bent exhaust system, and hopefully a T series Diff (if i can find one for a good price), front and rear strut braces. For suspension I have some 8kg front…

Hi everyone this is my corolla story, i bought the car a little ova a year and half ago for $200 with the intention to do a hilux motor swap. Soon realizing that if i was going to change the engine i may aswel make it worth it hahaha. It sat in my parents garage for the best part of 6 months while i decided what to do with it, in that time i prepared the car for painting and striped it, i purchased a half cut from the local jap shop and mum and dad arrived home from work one day to find half a car being craned of a flatbed into their driveway taking up more space. With the threat of being kicked out i had to send the car of to get motor in. Its now back at my place to get…

So i Bought the Ksev about February of 2009, dirty old 4k, standard, Got some wheels, a new exhaust, gktech wheel, and basically havent done much else to it, Finally decided its time to attack it and get it looking somewhat better than it was, so i started by finding what rust i had and figured why not get into it and sand it back to give it a new colour. decided i wanted to do an engine conversion, found a cheap CA18det engine package and have started the process of long hours of sanding, welding, bogging, more sanding, fab work, and such.. Havent got a deadline as of yet, so atm i do some work, forget about it, do some more, and so on...

Hey all, New to the forum so firstly would like to say hi  I just bought myself a KE70 slope front corolla for $400, runs great and has the 4 speed manual, has a 1.3 engine with ''hi cam'' badges on it  Its got its fare share of rust, in behind the rear bumper and in the rear wheel arches, luckily i have half an idea on what I'm doing so i have made this little thing my project car. The car itself has every reciept spent on it from day one and has been a local car from brand new, and the car has only done 153,xxx kilometres!!! The interior is okay for an old car, no cracks in the dash or anything so thats a plus. So anyways, my futur…

hey guys, picked up this ke70 wagon last friday. it's my first car, exterior is fairly clean, interior is shocking haha. pulled most of it out today and it's getting a good soak to (hopefully) get the stains out. if that doesn't work too well, i'll get it reupholstered, any suggestions where? here's a picture for the meantime. got a few bits and pieces to sort out, has a vacuum leak and won't idle. other than that, need some rear seatbelts if anyone's got any :) short term plans - fix any mechanical problems. interior done nicely. decent stereo (doesn't have one at all haha). upgrade suspension/handling/stopping (i read ae86 front coilove…

Collected my latest machine from twentyeight today... given its brown and my girlfriend thinks it looks like crap, we have christened him Mr Hanky! I was only half intending to buy it to be honest.. thought it would be a good buy under $1000 and put a bid in on ebay at $950... watched it creep right up to that number and thought oh well, its not meant to be... but the other bidder stopped at $948 and it ended up mine! Here I was thinking I was just helping Simon pay for the Crown by helping the bidding price up hehehe Not sure what I am going to do with it yet.. clean it up..rego it... put some decent lowered springs in it rather than the bodgy cut ones it has in …

So my memory was jogged after seeing Teddy's new supra, that i have always wanted to own a MA70/71. I've always loved the shape and the stance of them on the road, plus the fact you don't see many of them anymore. I started looking around for one, and promptly found a few interstate, but wasnt really interested in plane fares and costs involved of buying an interstate car. So i kept looking and eventually stumbled across one for sale on the side of a major rd in brisbane not far from where i live. I stewed on it for a couple of weeks before asking my brother what he thought of the car i was thinking about putting a deposit on. It was a Red 1989 MA70 7M Auto Single tu…

So, The story goes along the lines of this. One day, a little old woman decided to get her usual 6 monthly service on her car. The added note on the repair order was that it would idol a little rough at the lights. Considering the car would travel 1 return trip a week from home to the golf course on a thursday mid-morning, every week since 91, she must have been pretty switched on to pickup on it! If thats not good enough, try the fact that she was in her early 80's & the genuine rims don't have one cm of gutter rash. Turns out like most cars with a 7M these days, a simple service is oil, filter, head gasket. This one was no exception. haha. Long story…

Hey guys, this is my rolla TE72 / T-18 I was given this car. Took me a while to realize it had potential. This is how it was when i got it: Then we chopped the springs, painted the stock rims black and found some wheel trims, haha: Whacked some jelly beans on it, And now brings me to this stage. Just had all the rust cut out of my car and professionally primed. Ready for me and a friend to paint it in 2 Pack White. Painted in a fresh white today, needs a buff still, but came up pretty good considering the conditions of work and the area surrounding. also the people painting, props to my mate mick for doing m…

Hi all. I've been roaming around on this forum for quite a while now. I thought it's time to post seeing as there's quite a few AE112s about and I have a soft spot for KEs too :). I've just copied and pasted my ride from TOCAU below as then it's easier to update later for those interested  Well I picked this Corolla up with 85,860Ks on the clock for 11k. Cleanest interior and seats that have hardly been sat on (minus driver's seat LOL)! I chose the sedan because it is different and handles better than the liftback in my opinion. I was also influenced by this Hong Kong AE110 Sedan. Just bought from the car yard... Then modding stopped for long while... …
