Hi All, Time has come to finally begin the rebuild of our old Corolla. Has been in the family since the late 80's when it was my wife's first car. It went through a body rebuild and respray ( was originally mustard yellow )in around 1992 when she was hit by a drunk driver. Got a mechanical rebuild a couple of years later when the 3k and toyoglide finally gave up the ghost. Suspension was replaced then , diff rebuilt, brakes completely replaced front and rear, a jap import 5k built up with a mildly ported and decked head, balanced internals and a 32/36 weber bolted on, and the car converted to a manual gearbox. Hey all. My name's evan and ive been on here a little while as i used to have a KE55 sedan. Sold it some time ago so haven't been real active on the forum. Anyway, just today i went and had a look at a 1977 KE36 wagon. Loved it inside and out (even the poo brown paint) and put a deposit on it. So, will be picking it up on monday. Not real sure where i'll go with this project but initially i want a cool daily cruiser. Got some sound gear to go in and will prolly get some 16's on it soon. hey, just wanted to get some opinion on what you think of it and what i should do to it. here it is, its my first car and I'm still 3 months of my L's, i don't wanna do anything stupid to it, i want to keep it a head turner for the right reasons give it a lower and some non overeactant rims on it to get it out of the granny spec range. Okay so I bought a 3.8 v6 with computer and loom for the rolla at the start of February. :dance: So plans for it so far are as follows: Probably a welded diff under it, until i find a reasonably cheap alternative. (won't be road registered) Seam weld areas under most stress. Might have a crack at making up some bracing for front end, behind front guards. Take interia out except for front seats until I get sone racing seats and harnesses. Most likely have to shorten the tailshaft. Hey, I'm from North Carolina, just picked up a 1983 wagon and I'm ready to start work on it. I am a bit confused about the suspension on these cars as far as interchangeability goes. The rear is leaf spring, but is the front the same as all e70's? I'm still confused by all the chassis designations. It seems people like to run ae86 coilovers up front, what all parts do I need for this conversion? Mainly just wondering what springs/shocks I can use really for a budget setup in the front, thanks. Hey guys, finally got my backside into another Corolla - turns out almost 4 years is too long not to have one. It's a 1975 2 Door, 4K, 5 Speed, and a Jap 4.3 diff. Going to change some things in time to come. So far replaced the carburettor, the spark plug tube O rings, gave it a bit of a tune up. Runs a little better. Off now to replace the gasket on the back of the head its dripping coolant, replace the spark plugs, change the thermostat. And another re-tune.

Hey guys, been a member and corolla lover (sometimes inappropriately) for some years, and ive had a many corolla rides and small projects. But this is my first KE, bought off GJM85 from here. Plans are, clean it up a little, treat the rust spots, Rego, then slowly do some small mods when finances permits me. Bit more power from the 4K would be nice, extractors and 2" exhaust to start with. But the thing i really want, is a nice set of wheels. Purchased this little gem from a fellow Rollaclub member in WA. Its all original and looks to have traveled about 120,000miles. Paint is all original and it still has the original K 1100 motor in it. Seats are already at the trimmer to get repaired ( bottom of the front seats and top of the rear seat ), will give it the big detail this Sunday and then down to the panel shop Monday to have the dent in the boot and rust in the right front guard done. Will update pics and work gets completed.

Hey there just about finished me ke55 project, it got a 400 chev with a tunnel ram and twin carbs, gearbox is a 3 speed t400, also a 9in diff billet axels, 4 link rear end, rear end is tubbed fitting the 17x12.5 fr Simmons with 315 tyre's, it has full 6 point roll cage sheet metal seats and sheet metal dash with autometer gauges and carbon fiber b&m shifter, porshe 4 spot front brakes and xf falcon rear, it got a complete ke30 front and ke 30 taillights and rear bar I think they are a better shape, car is in for paint now will put picks up soon, only have build shots at the moment, can't wait to drive it

Here's my story. I bought this one owner, high mileage 7AFE 5spd AE102 wagon back in Oct 2008 with plans of doing a swap but not the typical 4AG (ZE/20v) swap. It's my grocery getter / daily driver so my choice of engine would have to provide good low end torque without boost & have balls for passing as necessary. The only engine that met my needs in a FWD application was a redtop BEAMS (197hp / 152tq) from a 1998+ Toyota Celica SIII ST202. The engine was purchased in Mar 2009 from JDMSource out of Calgary, AB. The swap was done in Apr 2009 entirely by my good friend Adam from AMT Machine Shop which took a total of 9 business days! hey guys,, you might remember my first ke70 (choppies) the white one,,, well that is now a cube so ive been working on another ke70 its got a the 4k motor with 130000 kms on it,, rims are 15x6.5 pentulos 5 spokes painted white exhaust is 2inch from manifold back through to a 3inch mega phone striped interior,, still working on the inside,, things to do: finish the interior all black with cream carpet, bolt on spacers for some off set,, or get new rims fit new windscreen then tint windows,, the color is asteroid silver,, keep an eye on this for progress because there is lots to come,, cheers morgzz

I acquired this MS85 Crown a few weeks back and plan to get it on the road and enjoy it. Here are some pics that were supplied before I looked at it - Since I got it I have managed to get it running. I polished it today and will take some pics tomorrow to show how much more amazing it looks now its all sparkly and clean! It really is quite a tidy car. Just picked this old girl up from its original owner, I saw it forsale on a facebook buy swap sell group and it screamed "BUY ME", I had been eyeing it off for years going around town. it has 177000km on the clock, very minor rust in the rear arches, a small hit to the rear and thin paint on the bonnet otherwise the interior is perfect and the paint apart from the bonnet will come up very good with a wax. Even the dash pad is great (this is rare out here in the country as the horrible summers get to it. after dickin around with a vl turbo that i was gona use to tow my ca18 ae71 for the past few months iv decided its not worth it anymore and bought myself this new beast... gold ke70 sedan stock as a rock 4k auto with overrated interior. the paint isnt to bad and it has NO rust in guards but had rust in the bonnet and behind the rear wheels and along the body below the boot. this is how i bought it... so i figured seeing as the ca18 rolla wont be seeing the track til next year id rip out the suspension and fit it to the ke along with the wheels which JUST fit on the rear with a light guard roll... this weekend I'm fixing all the rust and then il get a roadwort…

Long overdue (can't believe i forgot to put it up here) is my current build, after my disappointing attempt to go fast in a fwd 4agte propelled vehicle that saw me track it for the first time and within a week have it stripped down to a bare shell with the motor in the spirit. Nayways, onto the more interesting stuff, Car is a 1984 genuine ae71 spirit lil rough around the edges, just as i like it. A few pics of my new 55 i bought of a friend recently, 1980 KE55 Toyota Corolla 4k 3speed auto extractors and exhaust (only mods) 52,000km Very little rust (2 small spots on the edge of the boot lid) Very straight Interior is very clean with a few small scratches on the passengers door card, and 1 small crack on the dash. Future Mods: Lowering throwing around a bit of paint and getting some detail under the engine bay. 32/36 weber and a cam. Fit my personalised plates (OKE 055) The only mark on the interior!
