so i put 1nzfe c.o.p's on my bigport 4age gave them power and earth and trigger from the Haltech sprint 500 ecu set the ecu to direct fire for some reason the coils don't fire all nice like they should they fire when the ecu switches on some strange thing that haltech does generally it makes the car backfire with the excess fuel from cranking before hand then when its cranking it only fires ever now and then when i turn the key off it coffs and splutters like it wants to go i have double checked all my wiring and dwell I'm running out of ideas could anyone shed some light on my problem?

Hey guys! I recently picked up a TA22 with a 2-TGEU in it. It's got an electric dizzy but still has the ballast? Would this be restricting the spark to 9v? If so could I pick up a new 12v coil and remove the ballast? Cheers!

Hey everyone I am desperately looking for a wiring diagram manual for an AE101 20V Levin Corolla import silvertop because I am fitting it to my KE 70 corolla. any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I have been unable to find this anywhere other than a company is New Zealand who only prints the manual after receiving 150 orders. Hi I have an issue with An AE82 4ac Manual burning out the relays in the fuse/relay box behind the battery... would this be resistance/load from the fans. I have turned them by hand and nothing is obstructing them, could it just be getting shitty second hand relays from the wreckers. I have jut found out my auto electrician says the pin/design of the realays in many cars are the same and he has generic ones for 20 bucks roughly. Whats the thoughts of people here ?

Ok guys having a little bit of confusion I have what I've been told a 70amp rx7 Bosch alt which was in my 4door ke30 and was running fine which I have taken out and I'm going to put in my ke30 2door Alternator But when I had a look the wiring loom is different between both my cars and looks like they have two different regs 2door reg 4door reg?? I read up on the vl alternator upgrade and was explained that you wire the terminal to the 2pin connector but my 2door has a 3 pin connector Has anyone come across this or have anykind of wiring diagram any help is appreciated guys Cheers

Hi i am only 15 and i've got a ke55 i don't know how or what happened but my wiring from starter motor to battery burnt out so i need to replace them anyone that has some wiring please let me know asap any thoughts on why it burnt out as i was only trying to start the car? thanks Jonny

Ok guys having trouble with my Mercedes at the moment. No its not a Toyota but its still pretty simple. Basically i have no spark at all. I have none at the plugs, and none coming out the high tension lead of the coil. I do have power on both sides of the coil. I've tried spare coils I've had lying around and it doesn't change anything. What else could be causing this lack of spark? Points are opening and closing and i have tried a couple high tension leads. Help i want to drive my comfortable car again! Troy

my tacho suddenly is not working on my ke35. this happened when I changed my ignition coil and I don't know what the electrician did and it suddenly is not working

I put the ke70 back together after months of neglect and a few little electrical problems have come up. When I put the brake on, the indicator lights are coming on, and the brake lights doing nothing, I've fiddled around a bit with connections, but no luck. Any ideas anyone? Also whenever I put the car into reverse, the dash shorts out, and the fuse has to be replaced. I don't have even the slightest clue what could be causing this.

Ok so I have replaced my voltage regulator and I still am having a constant charging light even though it is putting out 14.08volts at idle. Well here are some other things i have observed in my engine bay that may be a contributing factor. The ground wires are all screwed up one is running from the valve cover to a 10mm bolt holding a brake line on. The ground battery cable is running to the side of the head. Also there is an extra wire coming of the voltage regulator that goes no where and right next to that there is a yellow wire inline fuse holder that is completely empty. so last week i swapped the motor in my ke70 to a bigport 4age, and having no major experience with wiring cars up decided to send it to an auto electrician and have it done properly. the 4age is out of an ae82 i had at home and i've given them the engine loom, ecu, body loom and the coil, but they are telling me they can't do anything with it because it needs the main fuse box from under the bonnet, but now i have no idea where i put it when i was stripping the car down :( i've read that many different posts on how to wire up a 4age that i could probably write a book, but none of them say anything about using the ae82's fuse box? so basically what i want to know is do i…

Aight guys I got another one for ya!!!! First of all I got a 1981 TE72 Liftback, my problem is my dash light,dome light and trunk light doesn't work an I Been hearing about this mysteriuos fuse box. I only have 2 that I know of,which are the engine and left kick panel, but also I got a problem with my taillights but my brake lights work when applied,also my bulbs in the taillights are the dual standard( I don't know the actual name) one more thing I need to get a few light sockets for the turn signals but I don't know how to put it on I'm guessing I cut the old sockets off an just wire the new ones on??? Hi I feel I needed to put this out here because of the frustration of 3 long months and the hole in my pocket that I didn't need. My daughters car a 1.6L EFI 93 hatch had an intermitant fault. The problem The general experience was it would stagger to a stop as if running out of petrol, after varing amounts of "stopped" time it would start, run, drive and after varying amounts of "drive" time it would stop and the cylcle would repeat itself. So I have been tearing into my 79 corolla wagon and ran into this item. Whoever got a hold of this beat the tar out of it, wrapped it in a roll of electrical tape and left it plugged in inside the engine bay. Of course the car is giving me all sorts of funky charging/alternator light issues and I really hope the 2 are related because I looked into the electrical schematics and I got lost quick! so i have a ke70 tacho dash I'm not using, i need a tacho for my panel van so i have pulled it apart for the tacho circuit board and what not just have one question i know what pin is the coil - but the other two i can't figure out what they are for. the red arrows are the one I'm talking about. theres also a capacitor that seems to be linked between the two red arrows. any help would be great. cheers chris

Hey guys, my indicators are playing up when braking. It makes all my brake lights and indicator lights blink at the same time. I'm 90% sure its the indicator lever/intruments fault. Hi, As the title suggests I have a problem with my interior light. It's not working at all.. not in the "on" position or the "door" position. The strange thing is that it used to work fine. It just started playing up one day and now it has stopped working completely. I never knew how much I used it until it was gone! I have checked the fuses and they look ok. Also have tried a different globe but there is no power getting to the light switch at all as I have tested it with a multimeter. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Hey guys. My beloved Avalon is really playing up. It may happen once a month yet today happened about 20 times just driving around the block. Until today you would start the car, let it warm up in the driveway and it would ramdomly switch off while idling, another 15amp efi fuse blown. I eventually got a self resetting circuit breaker that just stopped me replacing fuses roughly once every 2 weeks, untill today. OK guys I got my 4age and it seems all the electrical stuff is pretty well done. The only issue I have is I have put my tacho dash in and it doesnt work. I've had a hunt around but most of the threads I'm encountering are to do with after market tacho installs. Can I just run a wire from the (negative side?) of the dizzy to here bypassing the old loom and hope that the ground is still good. If the ground is bad does anyone know what wire in the old loom in that pic is the ground? Electrical, not my strong point. Cheers guys.

First off, Happy New Year! I'll try to keep this short...1969 KE10 with a swap from 1.1 to 1.2 3K ... while idling my tach makes an occasional jump, it gets worse when trying to drive....like the fire is jumping all over the place...but it's not anywhere i can see or feel, even watching it in the dark...new points, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, new wire from ign. to coil, coil to dist. etc. I can get it to idle ok but it just hesitates and feels bogged down when trying to drive. I have an 1985 AE82 with a 4A-C and it has a problem that although very annoying is hard to describe so I will try to be an concise as I can. When the engine is cool it runs well, but as it warms it gets worse. The first sign is the tacho becomes erratic, Even at idle the tacho is reporting 1,500-2,000RPM, If I lightly press the accelerator and raise the revs the tacho will become slightly more accurate, coming down to around 1,000RPM. So me ke55 coupe's headlights are little bastards. They've done this a bunch of times but eventually fix themselves, it's weird. but this time it's been a while. so at the moment when i turn them on nothing happens but my highbeams light comes on without any actual headlights coming on. when i push the stick forward for my high beams nothing happens either. but when i pull it forward for temporary beams they work? I'm guessing it's a dirty connection in the unit but it's hard getting in there to clean it out. any my auto elec is recovering from surgery for a couple months. any thoughts? Thanks, Jara

hey guys, i got a 86 corolla csx 4d. ive just taken out the factory tape deck out n fitted a kenwood cd player to the car and also changed the front speakers with some nice clarions. now the cd player works n lights up. but i have no dash/trim lights working and my wind screen wipers don't work either.ive checked the fuse box n its all good. can any1 plz help me with this problem??? this is my daily drive n i don't wanna get a defect plz help.

Hey guys, Recently got a 1991 Cressida Grande MX83 running a stock 7M-GE in it. Looking to get an OBD1 to USB cable (and software as well that supports a cressida that is that old) or a OBD2 to USB cable with OBD2 to OBD1 adaptor in Melbourne, or online, but from somewhere in Australia. Probably the OBD2 cable with the OBD1 adaptor might be preferable as I was looking to let my mate with an '85 Cressida running a 1UZ in it use it as well, and as far as I know they run OBD2 connections. hay guys well in my quest to finish my 4age ke30 I'm almost done... well to my knowledge haha there is always somthing that pops up but now I'm having trouble with the ecu pinouts i don't know where they go? they are the ones marked with the blue dots in the 14 pin section My 2 ridgeback's got to my car parts and they like to chew my stuff i have no clue why maybe the like the taste of grease and petrol lol but i have a part and i don't know if its from my 4age conversion or somthing else i think its from my wiring loom but i just thought i would check With the fuel pump is all that goes to it positive and negative or are there some other wires? Hi guy's, I'm new here. I have just aqured an old AE82 and fitted a 4age 16v bigport to it. I have changed the whole wiring loom (Engine bay and Dashboard) and fuse boxes (3) and i can only get it to start on thr cold start injector. It starts for about 1-2 seconds then stops. I believe i have tracked the problem down to the No 2 EFI relay. The relay tests and works fine on the bench but, I cannot get power to it thru footwell fusebox. I replaced that fusebox and still no pwer to the relay. Any Ideas???? PS. I have positive battery current at both sides of thr injector plug and no pulsing during cranking.

Anybody know where I can get a diagram for aftermarket dx lights?? Got them off eBay and the wiring from the old loom and crimps don't match the new ones. Anybody tried and solved this issue. Should I just get the whole thing re-wired??

Hi, just a quick question here. I'm getting no spark from the coil, i've replaced the ignitor, leads, plugs, rotor button, cap and points. The one thing I am unsure of is how to set the points gap. I know it is ment to be arount 0.8mm but where are you getting that distance from and at what point of the rotation? So is it that I need to rotate the engine and make sure that the point only ever gets 0.8mm closed? Or is there an easier way? Cheers guys Alex

Hi All, I'm doing the wiring for the custom dash layout and I'm not too sure how to; Wire up the Alternator charge Lamp from the ( L ) – Lamp Terminal from the Alternator. The alternator is 20V Black Top 4AGE (AE111) My question I ask is; does the ( L ) – Lamp Terminal from the Alternator produce a positive current and I earth the other side of the Alternator light to ground. thanks

Hey guys I'm having a little problem with my high beams on my ke20. Problem was when you pull the stalk back towards the wheel to flash the high beams i got nothing at,all headlights lights went off (flicking the stalk forward high beams work fine) so i pulled the switch off the steering column and had a look found that 2 contacts weren't contacting.so i slightly bent them in a bit so they contact and now beams come on when you pull the stalk back but stay on and don't return to low beam until you flick all the way forward to high beam then back to low beam again.So does anyone know how to get the high beams to flash to high then you pull the stalk back then back to lo…

Ok so I'm puttin together a turbo setup on my 4k and I know most people just lock the dizzy as a quick fix but I want to use a MSD BTM which is a (boost timing master) ignition system . it sounds like the perfect system I am looking for, I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with one of these systems and if it would be suitable for a turboed 4k.
