In my corolla e120 the climate control is making a annoying sound while it is set to about 20 degrees Celsius. I've seen that there's a rod behind the glove department that is making the noise by continuously jerking around. It stops when I raise or lower the temperature with multiple degrees. Really annoying! How do I stop this problem?

Hey guys I have recently put a 16v 4age into my ae71 wagon. It was running fine in previous car and after I converted it was running in my wagon. But recently it has had strange on and off sparking issues. The timing is currently out but that a side I have taken the lead out of the dizzy center and grounded it on the head and got spark, then the next day it would have no spark then it would sometimes and currently none again. So I'm thinking its either something failing/on its way out and getting worse or possibly a wire somewhere not partly connected/not doing its job. I put a tester light between the coil positive (which has 12v when ignition is on) and the negative to …

Any advice please and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm wiring up the ignition system to a 4k,it is my understanding that they use 12 volt to start and then run on 9 volt through the ballast coil,(12 volt in and 9 volt out to the main coil in run mode). I have 12 volt to the primary of the ballast and then the lead out (I'm assuming its 9 volt) goes to the positive of the main coil. Can anyone suggest as to why, when I put the 12volt to the resistor, with the outlet side connected to the + of the main coil, the resistor gets hot and starts to smoke? I'm assuming either the coil or ballast is faulty but would appreciate any opinions.Thanks.

I'm rewiring a large chunk of the loom and consolidating all the fuse/relay panels into this: http://www.cooperind...elaymodule.html But I'm at a bit of a loss as to what's going on with the relays. So there's 4 relays in a KE70. The 2 in the engine bay I know are main/headlights but I'm not entirely sure what the kick panel ones are for. Maybe one is tail lights and the other is heater? I'm not sure. The other question I have is about 3 pin relays. The headlight and both kick panel relays are 3 pin but I don't understand how that works. I thought 4 would be the minimum because you need a power source and switch to run on their own separate circuits. Also…

Hey Guys I'm a bit lost with the situation I'm in at the moment. My ke70 wagon 16v bluetop with a ae82 internal fuel pump stopped working when i was backing it out the other day and then a puff of smoke came from the battery area. I have repaired that part of the loom that got chomped by the wheel by soldering together and heat shrinking. (drivers side loom under guard was rubbing on wheel) I can't find any other melted wires/plugs or lose earths. Replaced the pump relay still didnt work. swapped ecu over still nothing. I did put power directly to the fuel pump and works then hooked up the power wire to the wire that leads to the pump and it worked. So i have hooked every…

Hi there, need a bit of wiring info for a TA22 Celica. I'm rebuilding the car that my son tore to pieces and trying to sort out all the things that I didnt remove so therefore don't know where they went. Engine has been swapped to a 2T with twin carbs, extractors and a very hot head and cam to go in later. Issue at the moment is just trying to sort out some loose wires on the drivers side of the engine bay,a black and yellow, think this is oil pressure switch,a single thick black with one of those terminals on the end that part is cut of so you can sort of just slide it under a bolt head,I'm thinking its an earth of some type but would like confirmation and finally two yello…

Hey guys I'm having an issue with my interior lamp, my door switches and door ajar light all work fine and the fuse and globe are fine. I used a circuit tester to test the two cables that run to the actual switch/lamp assembly and one isn't receiving a current at all. The cable without the current is all black (it's not earth, as one of the mounting bolts acts as earth), it then feeds down and plugs into the same mounting board as the wiper control system and it's from there I don't know what colour it turns into as a bunch of little wires head behind the dash and over to the fuse box behind the drivers kick panel. Is there common area this circuit fails or does anyone …

Hey guys. In the process of my 4age conversion in to my corolla. Previous owner or wiring loom is a dodgy bloke. And just replaced injector plugs but didnt solder the wires just wrapped with tape :( In the whole moving shit around process the plugs have came off. And the wires are different colours so I'm an electrical noob so what I'm trying to say. Is there a wiring diagram that indicates the colour of wires. This is the only thing holding me back at the moment. Any help will be muchly appreciated. Thanks guys ;)

Hi guys I bought a 7k-e electronic dissy ages ago and I've come to the time in the build to install it. The problem I'm having is there is a small 2 pin plug on the side of it, I'm assuming they are positive and negative I have not looked inside it yet. If someone has used a 7ke dissy on their 4k or 5k can you point me in the right direction. I've also looked at installing the electronic type point conversion you can do for the standard point type dissy. But I cannot find a type to suit my single bolt point type has anyone done that type of conversion to help me in that direction. Thanks Mathew

Hey, The problem is my distributor isn't sparking on first or second unless I push it towards the firewall. It's not the plugs or leads and it has a new cap, points an rotor arm. I replaced the distributor not a week ago (it was having the same problem only the old dizzy had heaps of play in the rotor arm cam) The recently installed one had the car running really nice until one day I had the revs high as I was climbing a hill and something relating to the carby/accelerator cable came loose and the revs skyrocketed. I undid the acc cable guide thing and put it back onto the spring mechanism and tightened it up, the revs had now dropped and the car was run…

Hi All, I've been having some issues with my ke10 (running a 4k motor). The timing on the car is all over the place. Speaking with a good mechanic and he suggested the problem lies with the electronic ignition the motor is running. The previous owner set it up. It looks like a dick smith style kit. He recommended going to a pertonix ignitor system. Anyone had experience with these set ups?

I'm in the process of rewiring my KE30, just the motor currently: anyway I was in a rush and had the rookie mistake of pulling everything out at once... Then went to uni. Consequently I forgot where everything goes. I just need a simple diagram for Starter Alternator Distributor (And how they connect to key/battery/relays etc) Also want to know wire sizes, and voltages for it all.

For the last couple of months I've been getting an engine light problem (been coming on and off randomly) and found out it was the knock sensor. So I replaced it with one off a 20v I had lying around. All works good except it runs quite rich and I've had to adjust the idler screw to stop it stalling (or shuddering) after I've given it a bit of revs. Would anyone have a solution to this? I never had this problem until I replaced the sensor. Any help will greatly appreciated :-)

Hey I need some advice on what to do with my Corolla. On really hot days my car cuts out and turns off. When this happens it takes a minute before the car will start again but then it will go might do it once or twice more and then the car will be ok. Apart from happening on hot days there is no distinct conditions on when it happens. It can happen at any rev range from idle to high revs and in any gear. I only use 98 octane fuel. The car has been to 4 workshops including a dealership and is still not fixed so i am wondering if anyone knows a good workshop which may be able to diagnose the car. The car has light mods boost controller, exhaust, standard ecu. I…

I've got an electric fan on my KE70 and I'm trying to figure out how to wire up a dial to adjust what temperature the fans kick in, but I don't want to go thermostat. I've got one of those Davie's Craig thermo switches with the probe you stick in the top hose but that's a leaky prick and I don't like the thought of a bit of metal bending off and getting stuck in my water pump. SO. My question is this: is there a wiring diagram I can follow to perform such a procedure?

HI everyone, i was bored that other night so i started researching coils and read a few diffenet things. Currently my car (4ac powered) has a Bosch GT40 coil in it. I've read around that this coil is suitable for cars with electronic ignition, something my car doesnt have and that a GT40R is a better coil for the job. Recently i've had a few issues with my car that may be ignition related. So i guess i have two questions. 1. What is the difference between the two coils, 2, Which coil should i have on my car. thanks guys

Gents. As I'm getting off my slack arse and finishing off my car, some things are holding me up. Namely for today. The wiper motor wiring on my ae86. I have completely rewired the car, so not much still applies. What has loyally got me stumped the past two day is getting the wiper motor to park, or self return. Once switching off. I have located the hi and low speed pins to the wiper motor, I was hoping the ae86 motor had an internal park switch, but it doesn't. It only has two trigger (signal) wires that go back to the original switch. Which then completes the circuit only you turn the switch off. Great for someone running a standard dash, and the abi…

Just wondering how or if a distributor can breaks down/ wears out? If nothing looks broken or worn out how might I go about testing? Below is my internals, bearing seems fine, it was a little oily which I cleaned up.. not overly bad. I have a new seal kit or possible replacements seals. Just want to know if anything can cook or wear out. I had wrong plugs in which caused (I think) the current problem. I'm replacing Coil, Igniter and thinking of getting Dizzy rebuilt but the later is time consuming and possibly further expense. However I have been informed if its broke it will damage new igniter. The cap seal was broken (as expected)
