Just installed a headunit on my sisters 93' Corrolla hatch, while I was at it I thought id see why she had no parker lights, so i looked into it and turns out the 15A tail lamp fuse keeps blowing which leaves her with no dash lights, parker lights, rear parker lights and no number plate lights. Would anyone know what the G O is? btw, she needs this car in good working order for her P's test on Friday... Please help

Hey guys Background: My Rolla II GP Turbo had a 4EFTE (Starlet GT) engine slotted in by some dodgy mechanics around 7years ago, not even a month later the car was undriveable due to numerous issues which I couldn't address at the time, so it was put into storage. Recently a fellow rollaclub member gave me a car like mine with the same engine transplant for me to use as a parts car so I could get my car going again. Main Issue: During the engine swap 7 years ago the #&*@ stupid &@$!% mechanic didn't change the ECU over, so my 4EFTE (1.3ltr, 16v DOHC Turbo) was running an ECU designed for a 3ETE (1.5ltr, 12v SOHC Turbo engine). ok guys well I picked up a lovely little ke25 tonight, now my issue is that the right hand indicator doesn't flash it just stays on. do I just replace the flasher can thing to fix this? oh and the left hand indicator works a treat? I tried to look but hard to search RC on an iPhone :( and sorry I'm a bit noob at elec stuff! cheers abbott

Hey guys got a problem hope someone can shed some light. Car AE71 wagon 4AC, T50 all standard engine wise Problem: switched the motor out and when reconnecting the alternator i accidentally caused a dead short between the main connection on the back of the alternator and the part of the loom that goes to the voltage regulator. It burnt out a cable which i have since replaced now the car wont kick over the only things that work are headlights and the only interior light that works is the charge light on the dash. Ive checked all the fuse's and they aren't blown and there is power on the positive side of the coil. Any ideas of where to check/ wha…

so I've bought myself a liteace running a 4k motor. I'm decking it out like a camper atm (a small camper) and taking it on a trip. i want to be able to charge my laptop, and possibly some other small appliances, so i thought id get an inverter to run off the 12v system. what i need to know is, will the little 4k alternator put out enough juice for this? if not, do i upgrade the alternator and to what? or do i run duel batteries? thankyou

ive heard it needs to be around 13 14 volts but mynes 12.10 is this normal? also factoring in that my battery is in the boot. any one got the answer? thanks

hi guys, pretty noob when it comes to eletrical on cars. just wanted to know if any ecu would fit a 4age or would i need a specific ecu that comes with a harness/loom to fit it as well. for example would i be able to use a 20v mapped ecu for a 16v if i got it retuned or are the wires different? would it be best to just buy a 16v ecu then tune it? really lost here :S any help would be much appreciated, cheers Andrew

ok i know its not a corolla but ive just put a 4age into my suzuki sierra and i got issues with it going, i wired everything up to the wiring diagrams and the injecters work i can smell fuel but there isnt a spark there isnt any power on the coil pack but the funny thing is all of a sudden i will hit the key and it will fire a few times and then nothing i think it could be a power issue or someone told me it could be a ignighter does anyone know what it could be or could give me a hand at resolving my issue cheers nathan

Yeah i'm wondering if i need a bigger battery more cas and ccas because when i go to start the car i turn the key and there is a little lag until the car starts up, or maybe alternator? Any info on this topic would help cheeers guys.

Hey guys my temp gauge on my ke70 has stopped working,i got a new sensor but still no go,i then tried earthing the temp gauge wire and the gauge went to hot,so i got another new sensor but same issue again??? can't have got 2 dodgy sensors... could it be something else i should look at??? Cheers

Installed a stereo in my KE70 and switched on the ignition and it started up fine, but when i put the lights to park or low beam (running lights) it cuts the power to the stereo. Wires are presumably factory wiring and i've got + on a Green wire and - on a Blue wire. There's also an extra wire thats White with Red stripes which i don't know what it does. Anyone know what's up?

Decided it's time to tackle the whole zero power issue to the car. From what I can tell with the wiring diagram, I have blown a fusible link in the circuit, resulting in the whole no power thing.. How do I replace these? Also, will I need to replace the wiring throughout the whole circuit as well? Not a wiring expert, just want to know my options, other than "take to auto elec". Hey guys, Went to start my 4age the other day and noticed voltage gauge was reading excessively high as soon as i started the car up and it felt like it had a problem running, wasnt smooth was a bit jittery. Battery light stayed on also. Decided that's not normal. So turned it off and got lift to work. Came back later to check it all out again and the battery is dead. Got another battery, same deal had it running for 20 seconds on a new working battery. 14.5v on idle with no load, no accessories and when reved in neutral spiked upto 19v. This was checked on multi meter. I assume this means the voltage regulator is dead. However would 15v+ be enough to kill a batter…

Hi guys, Summer's coming and the missus is complaining about lack of air. I must therefore get this fixed ASAP! :yes: Over the past couple of years, the fan, when selected on (with or without aircon), is running slower and slower. Sometimes it runs so slowly that you can hear it ticking over at only a few revs a second. Slamming the recirc/fresh lever back and forth quite often makes the fan run much faster. I've mentioned this problem to Newtown Toyota and they say it's a fan problem, $800 to replace. Gasp. I have found replacement fans on the net for just over $100. My questions are: 1/ Does the problem sound like a fan issue or a electrical su…

hi all. Have a few problems at the moment. I have just bought a windowless ae71 corolla panelvan. The car had a 4age in it, but as it had no motor or box in it when I got it I'm putting the 4ac back in to it. The problem I'm having is it just won't start. Turn the key an nothing. It's a good running motor coz it came out of my AE spirit. Just wondering if it would be because of the 4age that was in it an the wires have been stuffed with. I have also checked everything battery, coil, ignition all that an still nothing. Any help please. Need to get it going real quick as I don't have a car. Thank you

Fuel gauge on my ke70 has killed itself, and is sitting on rock bottom constantly, i know there is petty in the tank, any ideas guys? Cheers, Jake

Came to start my ke70 today for the first time in far too long, and it turned over and everything, but wouldn't start. After a couple shots, this little f@$ker in the picture started smoking, what is it? and would it be the problem? Ran through troubleshooting in the workshop manual and the problem isnt spark plugs or dissy so I'm a bit lost! Any help greatly appreciated guys

so i just bought a 1993 corolla sedan and the only thing wrong with it is that the radio doesnt work, the clock doesnt work and the interior light doesnt full power up while on door mode and a door is open (some time it doesnt work at all when a door is open). i checked the fuses and they all seem to be good. any ideas would be good as i want to upgrade head units but not untill i know the wires work properly.

So the trailer type I'm looking at getting comes only with electric brakes so I'd need to fit a controller to the Hilux. What are people using or recommend? Trailers gross weight goes up to ~2500kg. Good fitters in Brisbane that aren't going to molest my interior or electrics while taking an arm and half a leg? I know all types of trailer brakes have their good and bad points. I'm almost forced to use electrics because I need breakaway brakes so I can tow broken landbarge GTR's around. Its also handy that you need to have a controller so people can't mooch my trailer :P (Instead they'll mooch my trailer AND my tow car :() Looking at towing long distance as well…

Hey guys, I'm currently on the hunt for a replacement set of Leads for GZE and where to source the igniters for the twin coil packs. I'm currenlty running 1 stock and 1 aftermarket. But id like to return to running either 2x stock or 2 of the same rather thna random mixed up stuff.. Also a set of leads. Ive done quite a bit of searching and the magnacore obviously come up. Ive found Top Gun at repco also do a set, however they run a mix of leads for 4AGZE import motors. So best bet is to order in what looks close enough and go from there. Just bought a KE70 Wagon with a 20V as a project thats been half done. I kind wish I had done the conversion because at least then I could've marked down every wire I pulled off as to where they all go. But this is what I bought into. I'm a little confused, the battery tray in the engine bay is goneski's, and I take it that somehow the fuse box mounts off it? (1st ever KE70 that I've looked at)Coz its just dangling. Took my car out for a drive last night after 4 months off the road being taken apart and put back together. Got her in the driveway and every time I put my foot on the brake the parker lights light up. I'm not to fussed about it but know this isn't exactly supposed to happen. Also anyway know much about alarm/immobiliser/central locking? My front 2 doors are hooked up to remote central locking and everytime I unlock them the lock straight away, I'm talking a second later.

Hey guys, I got a ke70 a few weeks ago, everything in it is all sweet exept for this one problem. If I have the car running or not and i press the brake pedal with the light stalk turned completely off, the cluster and the middle part of the console with the fan and air settings light up and also the parkers if the headlights are turned off. And it seems to be drawing power to the brake lights aswell, you can just see the brake lights come on if you have the lights turned on. I have checked fuses and wiring but i have no idea what the go is. Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys

I am building a Lotus 7 type Locost from scratch. My engine is an 88 red/black head 1.6L.4AG-E from a GT-S Corolla Sport Coupe. Hi guys, I am new to the rollaclub, but not new to the Corolla scene. However, I have just purchased a 1981 Ke55, it has the flat plain tail lights stock standard and I was wanting to change them over to the Ke30 chrome surrounded rounded tail lights. Can anyone tell me whether the Ke55 shell will support it, or whether the Ke30 has a slightly different shell mould? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks - Paul

Recently, I the battery light in my AE92 Corolla Hatch has been coming on infrequently, for example, i went to lunch today and it came on for a second then went off.. I have upgraded "the big 3" - Battery pos > Alt pos, Battery neg > chasis and Chasis > engine block with 0 Gauge power wire and fused the Alt pos to batt pos.. yet still i am getting the light .. As per the thread title, anyone got a diagram or photo showing fuse location and what they do ? My fuse box/panel is missing it's lid, so I've got no idea what's what. Pay a bunch of dosh for a Workshop manual and it's got no fuse panel diagrams only wiring diagrams that show no location. I'm tracking an electrical problem and at this stage I'm not getting power from the EFI Main Fuse (10A according to the $AGZE wiring diagrams I have). Just want to check the fuse before moving further upstream, but got no idea where it's hidden. From how I'm reading the engine bay fuse box lid it's not out there, so presuming it's in the interior panel. Happy to be told otherwise.

hello guys i am in great need of help i think i have blown my accesory fuse or parker light fuse. I was installing a subwoofer and 2 led interior strips and i wired them to the cigarette lighter and now they arnt working, therefor my parkers arnt working. the problem is i am not sure what is wrong

Hey guys, i've recently done a 4age blacktop conversion into my ae92 CS hatch, and it was all going well, but then i got a major defect and had to get a roadworthy, can't figure out why my reverse lights aren't working! i've pulled the plug off the reverse switch on the gear box and tested it and that's working, but it's getting lost in the wiring somewhere?? :S i'm totally stumped guys, help would be very very much appreciated! :)

Hi, So the headlights have just gone in the KE35. If I turn them on they don't work in the High Beam or Low Beam position. However if I flash on the High Beams they work, but only if the lights are switched on. If the lights aren't already on the relay just makes a buzzing sound. I talked to a mechanic and they seemed to think the problem doesn't lie with the relay. All other lights work fine. (i.e tail lights, parkers, brake lights, indicators) Thanks, Mitchell

Is there a constant power lead somewhere in the ke 55 dash? Because the cigarette lighting is on a switch where it has 12vc with acc. when its off it drops to 3.5 volts so i can't use this as constant power? if i can't find anything ill just wire straight to battery with a fuse also what did you's use as a acc ?

Hey, Got a KE70 with a stock 4k-C and I was compression testing it, checking spark plugs, etc. It was starting to struggle to turn over, starter motor would just clunk, I thought the battery was going flat but then I hit the key and saw some HUGE sparks is there something wrong with the starter or it got to hot or something? I was wondering if it is possible to just install a shift light without a tacho. This is just because i don't think a modern tacho will suit the ke20 very well, and i could easily hide the shift light itself... Cheers Tom
