  2. Started by ATOYOTA,

I was pulling the dash cluster out of the KE70 and the light went out in the cabin. I later tested the leads to the stereo with multimeters and it was dead. When I plugged the dash back in again the digital clock wasn't working. The rest of the instruments are functioning though. I checked the fuse box and they all look fine. I'll replace them all anyway though, seeing as they're a bit aged now. Is there something else I can test to diagnose the problem?

I have put a 3k in a ke35 i got from the wreckers everything i have managed to wire up properly except the alternator. It is the externally regulated type and i have found where it plugs into. but i need a section of wiring in between. basically I need to know which pole on the alternator goes to which part of the connector? The male connector that goes into the alternator and the one pictured below are the same size/shape. can I just go off that? and the B+ pole can just go the the positive terminal can't it? Thanks, Ben

hey guys, so I just bought a ke70 off a fellow members and I was testing out what works and what doesnt. I turn the lights on and put on the left blinkers and the lights turn off and when I click it off they come back on... the parkers stay on but I realise that the light on the dash and parts of the car flashes faster then usual but the right ones fine... I'm not really sure what it is, was thinking a wire or fuse but no clue with corollas. used to my skyline haha. cheers. :)

can I replace the links circled with a blade type fuse? My KE70 4AGE was using the stock KE70 fusible links. Or would replacing them with wire type fusible links be a better idea? EDIT: Its just the 80A one I need to replace. Cheers. Reed.

Hi Guys, I need some help with my 1996 Toyota 1.6 petrol Corolla 4A-FE engine (75k miles) which generally runs well, but I have noticed the engine “tick over” has started to increase, sometimes 1500 rpm even when it is hot. I took the car to a MOT testing station and was told it would fail on emissions. Whilst there I removed the fuel injection systems fuse to “reset” it. The emissions were rechecked and I was told it would pass and the tick over was back to 800 RPM. . RESULT !! Unfortunately this only lasted for a short time and then reverted back to high tick over and poor emissions again. The question is: what is making the fuel injection CPU set itself to an i…

Greetings all, I Have a 2005 Corolla which has no headlights at the moment. On First setting of light switch - parking lights and instrumentation lights work. On Second setting - no low beam. Push light switch stalk toward dashboard - no high beam. Pull light switch stalk toward steering wheel to flash high beam - high beam works. I removed the low beam bulbs and connected them individually to battery power just to make sure they weren't both blown - they work. I then located the 2 15 A fuses in the fuse box in front L/H side of engine bay (L/H & R/H Headlight) - they're both O.K. Then I took out the fuses and checked across the fuse fixtures with a multi-…

I know there is a few threads on this but none seem to be the same as the issues I'm having. So every light in the entire car(this includes parkers) works but the headlights. none of the wires coming of the stalk are broken which seems to be the common issue. I've tried swapping the relay with others that I know work. There is no blown fuses. The problem started after my 4age conversion. I did unbolt all the wires and stuff from the drivers side guard( wiper motor and etc) Are any of the headlight components? Earth or something?

  17. Hey all, it is a 20v Silvertop, Anyone have any opinions on why if I pour fuel into the throttle bodies and start the engine, it runs till its out of fuel, yet there is no injector pulse? I am still using the FWD wiring loom UNCUT as I only put the engine in for an event this weekend. I can't figure out why it would have been running perfectly in the FWD car and now it's not going. Its still a standard Silvertop ECU. Perhaps it could be something like part of the interior loom that is still in the other car that needs to be there? Although I'm just powering the ECU from my ignition switch and I've left most of the stuff that would have been in the kick panels disconne…

It won't arm or disarm, central locking works but won't work if the -ve door switch isn't earthed what is strange cause your door has to be open to lock it. I have got the immobilizing part wired up would this be effecting it? I can up wiring pages and all that if its needed. And my mate also lost the pin code for it but that shouldn't matter yet cause we can't even get to the point of needing it. Any help would be great.

Hi all, just wondering, i have purchased a Smallport and its got 2 looms, one loom i have plugged up to the engine and the other loom I'm not sure what it is? Its definitely different to the engine loom, is it possibly an interior loom? and the smallest plug that goes into the ECU has cut wires, where does this go to? And can I run my original interior loom with the ECU? Also, is there any plugs on the engine that wont need to be plugged in at all? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi people. When i change the dome light today there was a little spark when i turn it on, and now the dome light and the CD player is not working but everything else is fine. I think it was a short circus so I checked the fuse box and all the fuse are good. Checked the fuse thats on the back of the CD player and its also fine. When i was driving it tonight the back light of the LCD screen on the CD player comes on and off for a few times. Does this happen to anyone before? I search the web but couldnt find anything. BTW, my car is a 92 corolla. thanks

  23. So my car has been wiring from an arrangatang. Wires going all over to the accesory fuse panel, no fuses, no relays. I bought a Quikcar ignition panel to wire up and need some help deciding what to do. I have a push button start with 6 accesory switches. Fuel pump, Fan, Horn, starter, wipers, ignition. The switch panel has fuses for each switch already. Should I put a relay in between each switch and componet or just one in between power and a distribution box to power all the switches? I will show pics of what I have now and a diagram later.

I have 2 problems that I need to sort out. The first being when I start the car and put the lights on, the rear brake lights will pulse or randomly flicker for about 30 seconds or so when the brake pedal isnt pressed. After approx 30 seconds they stop flickering and the lights work as they should. What is buzzling me is why wouldnt this be a constant problem instead of disappearing after the 30 seconds which has me thinking its more then just a simple wiring fault. Second problem is battery light comes on in the morning. Usually after a couple of minutes of driving, the battery lights goes off. The last week or so the light randomly comes on whilst driving to work…

hi all, this should be simple hopefully. going from ae71 auto to manual I have all the wiring sorted except the starter. on the back of the firewall the black connector with about 6 wires, I thought that bottom centre was the starter wire, do I just route that to my starter because I used a multimeter and it still has continuity even when I don't turn the key. Then on the other side of the engine bay near the battery there is a black and white wire, when I do continuity between that one and the one on the black connector continuity is perfect (key to start), but I don't understand what I have to wire to the starter. And how many terminals are there actually o…

Hey guys nearly done in the 4age wiring department, but there is 2 black with red fleck wires coming from the engine side of the ignitor, join tegether and then to a single clip plug, now I don't know what the plug is for and its not plugged into anything, is this reason for no sparky sparky? The wire is a brown one on the ignitor side of the green plug and then turns into the double black with red fleck ones if that helps? Please help, we have tried 2 sets of leads, 2 dizzies, 2 ignitor packs, 3 coils and new plugs, pretty much at the end of what we can do at home here

my ke30 is having ignition problems =( So, I turn the key to start it like normal, it starts, but as soon as I let go of the key it turns off.. to keep the car running I have to hold the key on the whole time. makes driving really hard considering I have to keep hold of the key and the wheel at the same time... I've tried a new ignition barrel and its not that, also tried disconnection the barrel and stating it with a screw driver, same thing happens, I have to hold the screw driver turned... So i thought i would try on here before i book in to a auto electrician, does anyone have any idea whats going on??
