Hi there, I'm trying really hard to finish my ke55 hardtop auto to manual conversion ASAP. I'm stuck on wiring I think. putting the flywheel on yesterday I knocked the starter motor out and it sparked and I assumed it was dead. Ive got another incase, however I think my problem is that I have to bridge the wires off the centre console? at the moment whilst touching one of the red wires with either or both black wires the brake light on the dash goes on. unfortunately the red to red and black to black does nothing. When I turn the key all the electronics work, but the starter motor makes no noise. Please save me and blue beast. Gabriel.

Hi there, I've got a 1981 KE38 that I'm currently using as a daily. Its a stock 4KC and 5 Speed with the standard Carby and Bosch ignition. It was running fine for the past month and when I went to go for a drive on the weekend it wouldn't start, it only turned over. my father and I diagnosed the problem to be an electrical fault between the coil and the spark plugs. we have swapped out the coil, plug leads and distributor cap but haven't had any luck getting it running. The problem is something to do with the coil, as we have replaced it and there is no spark between the coil and the dizzy. We have checked voltages and get 11.8 volts at the ballast resistor and 8 vo…

OK, I've finally had to start on wiring the computer into the KE70. As far as I know its a big-port motor and loom, and a smallport ECU, all melded into a KE70 body loom and a Daihatsu Charade relay box. Sounds easy.. After a month I still couldn't understand where power went into the wiring loom, all the pins in the computer were taken and the loom looked like it had never been hacked. A closed circuit. There is NOTHING on the internet about it except "hack into blah blah and put it into pin so & so.." Only this afternoon I realised the plug I need to chop off is 6" shorter than the other two because Toyota must have made a 6" long T-piece body loom, one…

The headlights on my ke35 where so appalling that I wasn't too keen to use the car at night. I remembered that altezzaclub posted a wiring diagram a while back with how to rewire them using a relay to stop the power getting sucked up by the cabling. I came across a ready made version of altezzaclub's diagram on eBay for the huge sum of $12, which I installed today. It took about 10 minutes to install and the result is brilliant. The brightness is easily double what it was. I needed to change the power wire to a longer one to reach the battery but apart from that, the installation was straightforward. Hopefully the cheap Chinese relays in the kit are safe. Tom…

My car has been fitted with a ae92 SX dash and it is not working correctly the main issues being: - RPM not working - When RPM is connected to the car it will not let the car start and if you have the car running and plug the rpm wire in it will stall the car. - When rpm wire connected the rear demister light will come on. I cannot find a reason for this I'm guessing it would be a wrong wire connected or the earths are not all connected. The sx cluster has been fitted to my ae92 4afc It would also help if someone has a wiring diagram for the ae92 SE 4afc and one for a SX cluster also. Anyone shed some light on this please.

Hey guys, got a twin cam ae82, been swapped to a red top bigport. Upon buying I was told when the air condition/vent fan is turned on it blows the main engine fuse. Is this a common problem? Or just a little short somewhere? I would also like to get the air conditioning happening again, is it worth it? Cheers

Hello all. I have this problem with my key to my KE70, and when i turn it over to ignition position then it wont turn over, but when i take the key up/down inside the cylinder while i have it turned to iginition then it will fire. So basicly what I'm saying is that I'm going to change it out. If its not fixable(?) i don't know. I bought an aftermarket cylinder with just 3 cables to it, like this: And from my ke70 there comes 5 cables So my question is this, what cables do i need to put on the new one, and what are the other 2 calbes to. And yes i have checked the wiring diagram, but I'm asking just to be sure. Best regards, Hellkeepa

Hey guys! Just replaced my alternator and voltage regulator on my 79 corolla wagon with a 2tc. It charges the battery but ive been having to leave it for about 2 days for when i go to school. I come back and the battery is dead. Eversince i replaced the alt and reg the chg light on the dash turns on when i turn the car off. I'm guessing the light is draining the battery. Anyone have any ideas on why this is?

I've got a ke35 with the rectangular brake master cylinder. My pressure differential switch isn't connected and I can't find the wire in the loom. I assume its been cut off. I'm hoping someone with an original loom wouldn't mind taking a photo of their wiring to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hellc all I just bought a 82 sr-5 coupe with a 3tc engine. I went to upgrade my alternator. and ended up burning the wiring from alternator, to battery, to fuse box and everywhere in between. I have it wired up based off the original wiring so I know thats good, I just don't know how much burnet from the fire.. It literally s burnt up to the fuse box... Can it burn inside? will it ruin it? I hear these cars have fuse box problems anyways but I don't know if a deep cleaning and wire changing will work, or if it has to be replaced. I'm looking everywhere for one, but I think the reason I can't find it is because I'm looking up just corolla. What other cars take this item…

Sooo my 2T motor finally died and have upgraded to the 2Tgeu motor, its so close to being done we just can't figure out the last bit. (i'm not 100% sure of the problem so I apologize if this falls into the wrong category) Have followed this diagram http://khi-santh.canberracelica.org/files/2tgeu.pdf . At the moment it turns over and will only start for a few seconds (every so often) before shutting off again , suspecting its something to do with the fuel injection?? Anyone have any advice on where to even start?

I'm adding a relay to control my power feeds to my data logger and wideband so they don't run all the time. It will just be a simple system that is triggered by ignition power being turned on. My battery used to run down in about a week and a half the way it was in my ae71 without it. Want to improve that. Anyone know a relay type with 2 switched power circuits so I can use a single relay and switched 12 v trigger to feed both the logger and the wideband with separate 12 v circuits?

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here but this site has helped me a lot. You guys are a wealth of knowledge and I really appreciate any advice i receive. I am currently trying to get my S14 VCT SR20 powered KE70 to start. I've been doing a conversion over the past 6 months or so and now pretty much everything is finished and ready for the road.....except for probably the most important aspect; the engine will not start. I may be in over my head when it comes to the electrical side but I am committed to finishing this project. I have the SR20 engine harness, gearbox harness and ECU, and I also have all the original looms from the KE70. I ran power to the KE70's igniti…

Hello! Attention: My english is not good, but I hope you get my point I'm 17 years old car enthusiast from Estonia and I'm having a problem with my KE70. This winter something happened with kick panel fuse box, I opened it and saw that some of the circuits (aluminium parts) had blown. It melted the plastic around the circuits and the fuse box is now a pretty big mess :D, so I don't know which circuits to solder and which not. I would be very thankful if someone, who has the same fuse box, would disassemble it and take pictures of different layers there. I found possible problem and fixed all the wiring harness, so I don't think that the circuits blow again…

gday all. i have a 5k/3k-b engine that i want to run with and an older crane 6600 ignition box and optical pickup dizzy that according to the crane tech guy will work together. My questions are, I have a bosch mec717 coil, do ineed the bim024 module to run it or does the box do it ? also i understand white wire from the dizzy sensor goes to white trigger wire on box, black to body earth, and then instuctions say red wire "12v+ switched" i assume this means to coil+ or should I put in a relay to get 12v+ from battery ? sorry if these are basic questions, cheers anyway ..

Hey, I've just picked up my 2nd ke70 and this one is unregistered but doesn't need much. My indicators when I turn them left or right it puts on hazard lights is this a wiring issue or be a globe issue. They do flash the lights so I'm guessing a wiring issue (ground/fuse/connection issue) any help would be awesome ill share some photos soon its flat front too. c:

If your looking to run a cdi type box like msd there's a little issue with the internally regulated distributors for k motors It's common knowledge we use the original dizzy wire and we add a coil positive wire for the electronic distributor. If you use an alternate ignition source for that added wire then you can use the cd box with the same wiring configuration as for a points ignition.

Hy guys never thought I'd be one of those people that ask questions on a forum but I'm seriously out of ideas. car - ke70 engine - jdm bigport 4age problem- wont rev ok so Ive just bought a 4age ke70 from a friend that just seems to not run right, it'll idle just fine but as soon as you blip the throttle it does and starts to stall like its sucking in too much air and not supplying the fuel for it. but if you disconnect any injector and rev it, then it revs fine just on 3 cylinders. The moment you plug the injector back in it doesn't rev at all once again. If you hold the throttle open the minimalist amount you can allow it to slowly pick up to 6000r…

I took the car for a drive today and when I went to restart it to come home, all I got was a click. The motor didn't try to turn over at all. After a few goes and a few clicks later, it started easily. It did it again later. The battery has got 13.5v and the alternator is making 14.5v. The engine oil is black and the coolant is fine. The electrical connections seem ok. It was a hot day today. The motor is a high compression 4K. (5k head) it's a 3 speed gm auto. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey guys! Suddenly i noticed that my ammeter is reading +30 when running and about +10 on idle. I always see the meter at 0 so i got worried. What are the possible scenarios that caused this and should i be alarmed? I ran the car for about 20mins and its still the same. Cheers!

I found myself without any brake fluid the other day. I was wondering why the warning light didn't come on. As far as I can tell, it's not connected. There are three empty plugs coming off the wiring loom and I'm wondering if one of these should be connected. Ones got one wire, one two and the other three wires. Any help would be appreciated. thanks Peter

Ok, so I've got this really rev-happy race engine on bike carbs and I'm after a tachometer that can match the revs with minimum jittering and lag. It's kinda hard to find information on this online because everyone's into fvcking turbos these days and throttle response is literally laughable (everyone I talk to laughs hysterically at the ludicrous idea of an engine actually making power, WHEN YOU BLOODY WELL WANT IT). What are some good starting points to look at? What are the racers using? I'd like to see it in action to gauge responsiveness before committing to buy and go to the effort of fabricating a cluster surround.
