Hey all I'm looking for some help! I have a 4agze in my ke70 with a k50 box behind it. The k50 is about to **** itself making all kinds of noises. So I am wanting to upgrade to a t50. I have a couple of questions about this conversion: What number of splines would my t50 need to have, to sit behind my 4agze without modifacation? (As i don't want to gaft/swap splines) What clutch would be best suited to use? (Ive heard celica but what series?) Hope you can help!! All answers and expereience offered will be much appreciated!!! =)

Hey guys as the title says I have a Ke70 and I'm just thinking about doing a 4afe conversion because of ease of getting the motor and price as I don't have the money to buy a ge motor and I can do ask the work myself just have a few queries am I right in thinking a t50 gearbox will fit it for the obvious rear wheel drive and as for the dizzy problem will a 4age rwd thing fit it and I would run Cathy so I don't have to hunt down a rwd manifold what other pebbles would I run into as for mounting I have read that 4afe blocks are the same as 4age blocks so engine mints won't be a phlegm I can get them any help would be much appreciated it didn't have to be a race car just ada…

Bit of a noob question here but what are the dog tags on the aisan carbs for? Can they be used to find out what k motor they are from? I understand that the less carbon emmission stuff means the older the carb.

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these turbos (audi/VW 1.8ltr motors). I'm doing some hunting on the webs and I'm finding conflicting information but mostly positive feedback. My application is twincharging the 4k, running ~6psi (yet to be confirmed) on the charger and letting the turbo add another 7ish psi on top of that. Both units will be in circuit for 100% of the performance ergo no bypass valves. I've heard only a little about the K03, the K04 is sort of the direction I am looking at because of it's supposedly quick spool time. The main reason I am looking at this turbo is because I can get them new and I can get them cheap from a…

Howdy all. Just looking at purchasing a set of speed bleeders for Mumbleweed (Wife's yellow RA60 Celica) and I was hoping someone on here can tell me the brake bleeder valve size? Yes I could wait till I get home and take the thing apart but I'd rather not if I don't have to :) Thanks

G'day guys. Rather than fork out 400 big ones on Kmac cambertops for my Ke10 i found some Celica ones for $150 I've never really looked into them too much before because of the price, But, Are they able to be redrilled to suit the Ke10 strut top?

looking for good panel beater near blacktown sydney. (west) that hates bog.. I'm looking at getting my ke25 cleaned up the proper way with cut and weld style rust repair. I also have a few dents here or there, in roof and driver door, also boot and under rear guard is pushed up. rust along front of bonnet. we are stripping and repainting it so if you know anyone that is good at working with panels, it would be good to get it done properly. pics: https://plus.google....580240125225682 https://plus.google....580065931946546 https://plus.google....579795520938610 https://plus.google....501084341651570 https://plus.google....500820108240722

I'm most likely going a whiteline swaybar for my ke10. There's the issue of the brake calipers hitting when you switch to disk brake.. So I had the though of swapping struts side to side so the calipers are now at the rear and don't interfere Can anyone see any problems with this? I was thinking the disks will now be spinning opposite directions than they previously were.. and I'm unsure whether this would have any negative effects or I'm just overthinking it? Cheers!

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has this kit and still knows where their manual resides. I have the unit but for the life of me I cannot find the damn manual. I want to get the wideband kit for the display so I need to re configure the unit but without the manual I have no idea how to do it. I think the kit is kc-5300 or something along the lines of that. Cheers!

Since i have problem with my 4th gear synchro today i decide to make a round to my local scrap ward! So i find 2 gearboxes! Both of them has hydraulic clutch , 5 gears , same 22 spline output shaft and is identically same...and ofcource has the toyota emblem! I decide to open one of them to check it from inside.....(first time) :jason: thats the result!! The big problem its that i don't know what code is and if it suitable form my engine(4age). From inside i can see that it is in a good condition...i think! Can anyone recognize it?

Hey guys I've just out a 5k in my 26 that has had a little amount of work done to it at some point, put new carbies on there and got it running. Only problem is that cylinder 1 doesnt do anything! So far I've figured out that compression is good, I've got spark (at the plug), valve springs and push rods are fine and I have fuel as its on the plug when I pull it out. As I'm a novice mechanically what else could I be looking at? I'm assuming a valve problem?

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade the shockers in the front of my ke55 and have been told that the size of the strut tube must be 51mm to fit the ones that i'm after. I've been told that these struts are found in ke70's but when i measured one it only measured up to 46mm. Can anyone tell me if there is a certain year or type that these struts came out in the ke70's, or if it was another type of strut out of another car altogether? Cheers.

Hey guys now this is porbly a old question and belive me when i say i have done my research, What makes a 4AGE so much better then a 4AFE Apart from the next Generation twin Cam... So really guys just after some numbers for the 2.. i was told the 4AGE has a bigger head my question is by how much also how much dif are the intake and outtake Ports by diameter if any 1 knows would be great help Not sure if i shud reco my 4AF Block and bore out the Chamber / Intake / exhuast ports. After seeing some of the Dyno results and Numbers i have seen, i'm really starting to think the 4AGE is not much better at all comparaed 2 the 4AFE.. The 4A-FE 113 hp (84 kW) @ 5800 rpm…

Ok so the 4AGE I bought had no exhaust manifold and no bolts or nuts for it. So here is the dilemma I bought some high tensile M10 x 1.25 35mm (or 45mm can't remember of the top of my head I can check though). Will those do the job? The nuts thread on fine. But the bolts are quite firm. ei can barely be twisted by hand. I am shit scared of snapping them in the block! Is their something I can do to make it a bit easier/safer? Many thanks!

This is from a Weber conversion booklet put out by Borg Warner (they used to be the Australian Weber agents) sometime in the early 80's giving a listing of suggested jet settings for various tunes, including Corolla's (1200) for twin 40mmDCOE on both stock and full competition engine, Celica's etc amongst many others. I have put the whole listing up in case you have something else of interest in the shed. It lists suggested choke, secondary venturi and assorted jet sizes. This should give you a bit of an idea for a reasonable state of tune prior to heading along to your friendly local dyno. weber settings.pdf

For something so mechanically simple, the SU carb has a complex system of operation. It seems very straightforward when you look at a cross-section of the carb and have a read over the internet, but I've found that it does not behave in such a simple way. Looking at the diagram, it is made from a body that contains the throttle plate, with a 'top hat' screwed on top of it. That encloses a cup-shaped hollow, floating piston that holds a needle in the fuel jet screwed into the bottom of the body. The little ramp in the body where the jet sits forms a low pressure area behind it and air flow over the venturi ramp sucks the floating piston upwards by forming a vacuum …

Okay so i finally got my 18rgu today and throughout the whole day my dad has been complaining about how much i got it for. i bought it off a friend of dads, he was originaly asking for $1000 but dad hassled him down to $800. i was originaly thinking i was payin $1000 just for the engine plus the twin dellortos on it plus the extractors but when i went to pick it up the guy was like "what you see is what you get" and sitting with the engine was a radiator to suit the engine, an electronic fuel pump, and altinator, this fuel preasure regulator thing, and a msd motorcycle idnition thing. now my question is, was all of this worth $800 or not? and also, what does this msd ign…

Ok guys I've search but could find a definitive answer. I'm going to be driving my 26 as a daily shortly and need it to drive alot nicer than current. The standard shocks are dead and I need new ones, what has everyone used for shorter stroke shocks in the front of 20's? Mines currently approx 60-70mm lower than standard making standard shocks useless. Has anyone upgraded the shocks in the rear of a 26? There quite a bit smaller than 20/25 shocks if i recall?

Thought I'd write a quick *cough* article on headlight upgrades for most older cars, seeing since the stock lights are pretty poor and are definately worthy of an upgrade by now. There are some things to understand and take note of. Will add pics at some point as I find them... Most older cars will have what is known as a sealed beam headlight which is basically a huge one piece bulb with a dual filament inside for high and low beam and its a throw away item. Most of them are cheap as such and have poor performance and deteriorate over time. All you do is replace the whole unit when it gets old or stops working. There are limited performance versions of sealed…

G'day guys. Been doing a bit of looking around lately at front suspension stuff. And usually when someone says about suspension for ke70's everyone says oh there's no shock options etc Well this may be an option. Turns out, AW11 mr2 rear shocks will fit in KE struts. Supposedly around 50-70mm shorter. Apparently 85-87 AW11 rear inserts only work though, As later than that they're too big. The thing is you can also buy these in aftermarket spec, in shorter stroke still and adjustability as well i'm pretty sure? There's no AGX option available but Koni and Tokiko apparently make them. I can't confirm this 100% but i'm looking into having a crack …

Hey guys, 5k started to make a clack clack clack sound about 5 mins before I got home. The sound is similar to a tappet being out of adjustment but much louder. During driving there was no power loss or decreased driveablility. Initially I thought maybe a bent pushrod had bent but after taking the rocker cover off I see that the pushrods are all straight and are not fouling against anything. What do you guys think this could be? One of the hydro lifers are shot or something worse???? I have a 4k sitting in the shed so I do have a spare motor in case this is a terminal problem. cheers

for a toyota ke70 what is the widest wheels size you can have in NSW?. I was curious because i was looking into buying a ke70 but alot of the ones i was looking at where defected because the track width was to wide, but it gave the car a real cool stance. would like to have something like this.

hey guys, just putting my ae82 corolla back together after having the drivetrain out of it for over a year. i have pretty much all of it sorted out, except for a few little things, i was hoping someone might be able to help me out? firstly, theres a sensor/switch at the front left corner of the auto. has a small loom with blue plug and 2 pins. anyone know what it does, where it goes, or what signal is supposed to be sent to/from it? the car was originally manual and i think it may not have ever been connected, as the auto has never shifted properly. secondly, theres a breather off the auto dipstick tube. anyone know where the end of this is supposed to go? …

Hey guys, Getting back to building my 5k for my white ke10. Want to go the bike carby route, just for something different, trying something new and the sound. The thing i'm not sure is, Is there a way to work out what carby's will be suitable which aren't? I was talking to Jordain on facebook about it earlier and just got lost, he mentioned about going off throat sizes.. He also said he had cbr600 carbs on his 4k, Guessing this would lean out on a 5k? It's going to be pretty mild, heads done to 10.1:1 compression, mild porting, will cop valves and valve springs as well and be run on 98.. Any idea's on how to work it out, or what would be suitabl…

Hi guys, As anyone with an original 4k EFI manifold would know, the throttle body is tiny. So tiny in fact that you can not buy any adaptors for CAI tubing. Because of my twin charging ambitions I can not reliably seal the throttle body thus boost would escape. So what I am looking at doing is upgrading to a 2" throttle body as this is a standard size for piping and intercoolers. The question is what throttle body should I look for? I want to find something that I could easily modify to fit the standard KE55 throttle cable and has a resistive type TPS. I know it's not something that everyone does but if anyone has done something similar I would like to know. …
