Well, today it was time to a) Spend some more money b) do something to the Ke20 c) continue down my path of being dodgie with a good outcome. So, we put all those together, and you come up "fixing the cracks in the ke20's dash!" Let the pictures do the talking. Oh btw, the stuff i used is 4x sticks of hot glue gun :P Enjoy!

Hey all, finished moving my leaf springs in 10mm today, a friend has changed the offset of some 14x7 ra40 celica rims and tacked them together so i can trial fit. It took a bit of messing around but i finally have them in place. Slick are 24.5 x 8 x 14, the buldge is the widest part at 258 mm wide, i should be able to get a 255 street tyre on the rear now too :D I have about 3 mm clearance to the leaf springs now, do you think i should change the offset by 4mm more and slightly scallop the springs? i am un decided of whether they still stick out to far? as it sits i should be able to roll the lips and not get any tire scrub, opinions please? last thing i want is a car…

So, today was time to clean the holes out... The manifold bolt holes (I have only 2 studs and the rest are 10mm bolts) then the head bolt holes. I have a bolt with a hacksawed slot down it that acts as a tap without actually cutting any metal, so when I could screw that fully in and out by hand I knew the threads were clean. There can be a lot of tarry shit and dirt down a hole that you just never see, but it can stop the bolt tensioning up on the head or manifold. It takes a few tries to get the slotted bolt in and out without filling the slots up with rubbish. I measured a headbolt height in the block and the head depth just to make sure that the bolt would pull …

Hey all, have the KE55 off the road at the moment.. getting stripped and converted... my daily is now a GP Turbo, Corolla 2! perfect little car, 1.5 turbo sohc. BUT lol i know nothing about the car itself, stock boost? at the moment. when i accelerate it takes off, and boosts up but appears to stall for a split second. and then it takes off again, how ever seems to have much lower boost. say from 7psi to 3psi... turn the car off. start again and away it goes.. i have seen on some other images that there appears to be a BOOST switch on the dash.. could this be causing the issue? it appears to be a high / low boost switch standard! or could it…

 Hey Guys Has anyone ever had to grind down a brake caliper to fit a wheel on before? I just got some new wheels and i put them on but when the front ones went on they wouldn't spin I then realised that the caliper was protruding too far out and the wheel wasn't quite sitting properly :lolcry: I took to the caliper with a grinder and took off perhaps 4-5mm of what looked like unneeded steel Is this safe? i haven't really got to the meat of the calliper or anything but i didn't knw if this was a common issue And also, how much clearance should be between the wheel and calliper? At the moment there is maybe 2mm Should i grind more off? A…

gday peoples.... on the weekend i had a little bit of time to muck around with the dash lights in grover...i was sick of the green tinge they had because of the blue cover they have over the yellow globe. So i intended to fix it....by installing blue LED's into the bulb holders....thanks to Ruts suggestion (and the spare bulb he gave me). the result was good

G'day all, I have a 2 door ke30 and I have wanted to fit a tachometer to it just to get an idea on revs I'm doing at certain speeds, I also purchased an oil pressure guage and a water temperature guage to fit as well, now is there any way to use the original oil pressure light sender or the water temp sender, as I quickly just fiddled with the water temp guage under the bonnet the guage quickly went over 100 degrees assuming that you cannot match the original sender with aftermarket guages. Can variable resistors be fitted as a solution or have to fit my aftermarket senders and ditch the originals?

HI all, As the title says, I have a 4agze, Its in a Ke55, I'm running a FMIC, Microtech ECU, and the Pulley is hooked up to a switch, via a relay and I have completed the ABV Mod. When the motor was out of the car, I played with the SC and it sucked and pushed air through. When I start the engine the Boost gauge runs at 20 In.Hg. When I flick the switch you can see the Clutch pop in, it spins faster BUT when you rev it, the gauge doesn't move. I've disconneded the Gauge and blown air through, and it shows pressure. The Silicone bends and clamps are new and tight. Any Ideas?? Thanks

Hey, so my handbrake cable has gone loose and I can't tighten it anymore. Can anyone with a ke3x and vl borgwarner diff recommend a cable to go with it?

Handbrake cables on a KE3x/5x are not the same length. The passenger side one is about 2 inches longer, and that difference is a HUGE difference. If you put them in the wrong way around, your handbrake will not work.

Something's wrong with my drums I think, have been since I bought the car. Have had them looked at twice, they still don't work anywhere near as well as I think they should. I've got them tightened as far as they will go (I think they're probably even dragging a bit at the moment), it's down to 1 click... But yeah, because they're really very ineffective I have to yank REALLY hard to get them to lock up at all...

Gidday guys, I'm having ongoing problems with my little 4k kp bugeye. To save a long story... I'll try generalise this as much as i can. I've been battling pinging issues and now hard starting(also won't idle on its own) So far I've replaced coil, spark plugs(twice) leads, rebuilt the carb, replaced manifold gasket with a one piece(slight vacuum leak from coby headers) I got the motor to run without pinging after i ripped the dizzy out and shifted it around. but the timing was way too advanced so i pulled it out again to restart the process. Which made it worse, it won't idle on its own and the pinging is back. I'm certain I've lined up the…

Hi all. In the past I've seen people hunting down replacement gaskets, and often they can't get them without buying a new part (water pump etc) or a complete VRS kit. I may be able to help out, if you can let me know of any you can think of that are a pain to find let me know. Not just Corolla gaskets, any gaskets you've had trouble finding in the past. Let me know if I get enough interest then I might get some made up.

hey everyone, i brought my ke70 a while ago and the 4k that was in it was stuffed when i got it. recently i brought a vl and got heavily defected and now i am looking at putting the rb30 out of the vl into my ke70 as a drift car. i am choosing the rb over a 4age/4agze, sr and ca as i already own it and funds are very short. has anyone done this conversion before as i am after any pointers on what to look out for and what you had to do to fit it in. any help would be very appreciated, i am not looking for people to say don't do it, i'm after people actually wanting to help. i don't want the car mod plated or road legal i just want a drift pig thanks to anyone who can h…

Before i start, my car is an Aus spec AE92 with an AFM 4AGZE. I installed an A/F ratio kit from jaycar a few days ago, it was only going to be there temporarily. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I left the Oxygen sensor wire off and it was on the interior, this morning i started my car and the oxygen sensor wire happened to touch the steering column and sparked (i didn't realise the thing was live!). The car then stalled & blew the EFI-Heater fuse under the bonnet, i replaced the fuse with another 15A fuse (reccomended type) and it just keeps blowing them, the car turns over but won't start. Any suggestions? every other fuse seems to be good, there is a coup…

Hey all, Has anyone ever weighed their KE20. I was assuming mine would weigh similar to the kerb weight listed in my manual, to my surprise my ke20 sedan with cage, race seat, no carpet, no hood lining, with half a tank of fuel weighed in at 938kg. I don't understand why it is so heavy. It has a 3k, 4 spd, banjo diff. alloy wheels, etc. what do you guys think Andrew

So I'm pulling off my 5k head to do some stuff, however, I got all but 1 off. (because I'm smart and rounded it) After about an hour of working. My dad welded a ring spanner onto it and finally got it off, but it snapped inside. After getting everything else off. the Head is free from all the block but that one corner, could the bolt possibly broken threaded between the two? Cheers.
